FYI:
Wf''s Expert Selection stones are upgradeable, not just the ACAs.

yep..readysetgo''s and egl stones are not upgradable...

they look great to me!

Those two beauties should make a killer pair of studs!!!

Why did they flunk the ACA test?

PS. Sundial, is that your doggy?

Virtually 2 (beautiful!) peas in a pod!

I''d rather have the studs, you''ll get a lot more mileage out of them. Set those babies in a handmade martini setting, and yowza!!! Bling, is all you''ll see.

Kaleigh,
Wrist pictures, please!
Btw, before you give me a hard time about working, I'm home sick.

LynnB,
Many thanks for helping me make up my mind on a re-set.

ACAs and ES are upgradeable; ready-set-go and non GIA or AGS stones aren''t.

BEAUTIFULLY matched pair, Harriet - I''d definitely go that way. MAJOR blingage - I''m jealous!

I''d get the studs now, with a view to getting dangling jackets custom made in the future. Eventually, you''ll have it all!

Aljdewey,
Show me yours, please.

Widget,
What are dangling jackets?

Great selection, Harriet! Those are very well matched. I would agree with Kaleigh that studs will always be more versatile than the HW earrings. As Widget said, you can either have drops or jackets made to go with those studs when you want to dress them up. That''s what I''d do. I''ll find the thread with Widget''s drops for you.

Great idea!

Thanks DS! I just put this together, so I might as well post it:

Harriet, honestly, I saw those in Harry Winston and tried them on. I thought, frankly, they were not amazing and if they were not in HW I would not have even bothered. I would take an awesome pair of studs anyday...

I wouldn''t worry about them not making ACA, they should still be stunning. I think Brian the Cutter has very strict standards. And I agree with the others that studs are way more versatile that the HW earrings. Adding drops or jackets is the perfect solution to dress them up.

And yes my current avatar is my Jack Russell terrier. I got tired of the one of my pink sapphire RHR that I was using.

I hate to re-visit this issue. But, will .8 be a good size for eveyday use?

Sundial,
He''s a cutie. Can you see my Shih Tzu terrors?

Here are my current studs. I have no idea what size/quality they are. They were a gift from my parents, who are not acquainted with WF. Yet. Please give me your honest opnion as to their size (3.5 mm diameter). Regardless, I'll always treasure them.

Yes!

Im not sure what opinion you are wanting on the ones your parents gave you...

Can someone figure out their approximate size? I'm afraid they are a tad small.

Also, now you all know what my earlobes look like, which will factor into the size question.

They are about a .16. But, that''s nothing to be ashamed of! they were a lovely gift.

And .80''s are not going to look too big! Now just order them, will ya??

Harriet, seriously, I just looked and they don''t seem to be on hold. You might wanna call and do that....

Of course not. They''re from my parents!

Can''t order yet. The other half wants to be the one to do so since it''s his birthday gift to me.

Harriet, those are just a tiny bit larger than my .75''s which are about 5.86mm each. If you look for my thread, you can see some ear shots. They are the perfect size for me. I looked for .75-.80 and it took awhile to find a matched pair, so be careful about showing the ones you like on here before your fiance is ready to buy because someone else might grab them!

I would love to have that size someday. I think it''s the perfect size for everyday studs..

DS,
Nah, the people here are too nice.

Mrssalvo,
Is Zoe behaving?

Your current studs are very pretty. But, if I had to choose btw. the HW earrings and studs, I''d go with the studs. Like Widget said, you can always have jackets made down the road. I think the studs will be great for everyday wear. I have 1.25 ctw pear studs and I think they are a little small so perhaps they are destined to be ring side stones one day. .8 would be a perfect size. Is that one dog in your av? I thought in another thread you said it was 2...I can only find the one on the left.
