Hey all, long time no post….

Some of you know that we lost our cat, Carly, last week, it was sudden and unexpected and we all really miss her. I’ve been thinking of getting something in memory of her but was having a hard time figuring out exactly what. One thing though, I didn’t want it to scream cat memorial piece, the idea was wearable and subtle but pretty, like her.

I considered trying to find something in emerald for her birth month or tourmaline/opal for her passing month but wasn’t finding the perfect thing. Also, all of those stones are rather fragile and more than I really wanted to spend. Then I thought of flowers and maybe that finding something with her birth flower would be perfect. I dug out our original adoption papers and the shelter indicated she was born in May so….lily of the valley.

There are a lot of options for lily of the valley on Etsy but many are mass produced spoon rings, a few lockets, I was looking for something silver to keep the cost down but more special than “5 left and 11 people have this in their cart”

Nothing there so looked at RubyLane and scrolled through the pages and found this adorable ring and in a large size! It’s coming from Sweden so it might take a while to get here, will share when it arrives!

Also sharing one of my favorite pictures of her, she was just the best cat.

I was thinking the same thing, it’s been a terrible week for PS as far as pets are concerned. Carly had been sick with a respiratory issue but then it seemed to clear up, she was even visiting and purring with our older son the night before. It was a total shock.

I’m so sorry you lost your Sugar, it’s always hard losing a furry family member, the locket is a wonderful tribute.

It is a very sweet ring and it fits my right handle middle finger perfectly. It’s a bit bittersweet, I like the ring a lot, but it makes me feel sad, hopefully this will get better with time.

I found this heart padlock at the thrift store.
It is brass, and most of the gold wash is worn off. It's amazing that it still has the key.
The lock is unmarked.
I'm sure the chain is not original to the piece. The chain is 12k gold filled with the stamp
CACo. 12k g.f.
I can't find anything about this maker.
I have no idea about age on this one. My first thought was Victorian, but a similar one online was called "1940s". So I don't know.
But it is fun!

So I found this awesome spoon today.
How can a spoon be awesome, you say?
Well, when it says Tiffany & Co. , then it's awesome! The pattern is called Faneuil. It weighs a whopping 61.62 grams!
According to several sources, it was made in 1910. I wish I knew who CFV was!
It was $3, mixed in with a bunch of silver plate.
It's a cream soup spoon.

The gold mark is stamped on the ear wire, and hard to see without a loupe. So I'm sure the store didn't know they were gold.

A mokume gane ring



And this ring was from a thrift store. It's a Zuni sterling and turquoise ring in the Dishta style.
I really love it! It's so nicely made. That center sliver of turquoise is just perfect.
