What size 5 stone with 2.5 solitare?

Hey ladies.
I am looking to get a 5 stone to go with my 2.5ct round solitare. Also would making it a 6 stone be that much different at .17 each if that's even possible ? As this is for my 6 year anniversary !!

I am thinking that .20 would be a nice proportion but would love your input

I think more, smaller sized, stones would look better. So I agree with 6 x .17ct stones. You *can* get .17ct stones; I have a bunch of them in my BGD earrings and they look great.

What size is your finger? This makes a big impact on what proportions look best. The general consensus is to have an odd number of stones (5, 7, 9) - but I like even numbers (perhaps moreso) because an e-ring soli will protrude most in the middle, so having a join between the stones under the more protuberant point of the e-ring makes sense from a design and symmetry perspective. And 6 x .17 will give you greater spread and 5 x .2, which you might prefer.

As for achieving balance between the 2 rings - I always used to suggest a combined weight of the stones in the anniversary band be no more than 1/2 the ctw of the e-ring stone. But over the years my mind has changed on that, and I now prefer no more than 1/3 the ctw of the soli diamond.

But all these things are personal taste. I suggest trying a few bands on, but a lot of people wear a 5 stone ring on their right hand, largely for this reason - so that the 5 stone doesn't overwhelm their e-ring.

Lots of things to consider. But if you definitely want to wear this ring with your e-ring, have you considered an eternity ring rather than a 5 stone? It would perhaps coordinate aesthetically more successfully with your e-ring, and you could make it with 6 point stones, to maintain the significance you want.

I don't like an eternity so that is out for me I have a cheap cz and I don't like how it pushes out my fingers
I am going to try some on monday - but I do feel off trying on rings I don't intend to buy - is that weird? Lol

That's going to be a fairly large size stone to wear with another ring. You'll have to wear a spacer band between your two rings because the height of the diamonds in the band will cut into your e-ring prongs. That band will also stick out further than your e-ring shank, as well. I'd personally not wear larger than 10 pointers in a band with a solitaire, but if you want to go as large as 20, I'd highly recommend trying on bands that size before you have one made.

I have a 5 stone band and a 2.5 carat diamond ring, but I never wear them together. I have a couple of pictures with them on the same finger though. My finger size is a 4.5, and the stones in the 5 stone ring are 0.2 carats each.

I used to have a .83 5 stone (so .16/.17 stones). It did not give me full coverage and would turn a little from side to side. I would have to adjust it
often to be centered with my ering. When I lost that ring I knew I wanted to go with full across the top coverage so I would not have to adjust it as
often. Currently where the stones stop on the sides of the ring is where my other fingers (pinkie and middle finger) touch my ring finger. This sort
of by default keeps it centered. This is what I* think you should try to achieve if you want to not have to be adjusting it.

Try to get out and try on as many different size 5/6/7 stones as you can. Hopefully you will find the right size/# of stone combination to give you what
you are looking for!

It looks fine from the top, but the lack of stones on the sides is getting to me. I’ve thought about making it a nine stone for our ninth anniversary, but that may drive the sides of my fingers crazy.

I do the love the extra look a bigger stone band can give with a wedding set. My center stone is smaller than yours by more than a carat, & I still stack my five stone with it occasionally.
