What color polish are you rocking right now?

Here are some shots. L-R: Erin, Anne, Rihana

I tested out Anne and Erin last night, and ended up loving Erin, so I did both hands with 2 coats. It's super sheer, almost clear with a little shimmer, just how I like it. The shimmer isn't really showing well in these pictures but it's there in real life. It's like clear with a little shimmer.

A few more, with bling because this is PS

Zoya Rue. Opaque even on first coat. Good option for those who like opaque neutrals.

I love this color ame. Just my style. It looks so natural but just more put together and sophisticated vs no polish. Very nice! And thanks for the extra bling shots-I love love love your beautiful classic ring!

Love that color on you baby monster. And your ring too! :appl:

I haven't worn polish on my fingernails on any regular basis and was hoping someone could recommend a base coat that would prevent the polish from discoloring my fingernails. In the past I remember that the polish tended to discolor my nails and that is one of the reasons I stopped polishing my nails. Is there any protective base coat that will prevent the reaction my nails tend to have when wearing nail polish? Thanks.

Thanks! It is like my perfect "clear". SUPER subtle but not bare. It's wearing quite well on me too, which is impressive, since I didn't do a base coat. I had to dig in the shower drain last night when a little cap for a tiny conditioner tube went in there, and I thought for sure it would be mangled but it looks brand new still! The true test will be how many more days it stays nice.

Just received my Zoya polishes from the doorman. Interesting as it came last night. Sunday night. Since when did USPS start delivering Sunday? I know during the holidays and all but now? Here's a pic. Not sure when I will be in the mood to try them and I have to get a base coat first but here they are. Very similar but a bit different.

I rarely wear nail polish on my fingers, because I can't keep up with it and it looks terrible when it chips. I do like to wear a light pink sometimes because you can't see when it starts chipping off. For those of you who wear light pink, what's your favorite brand and shade?

My new favorite is the one I just showed, Zoya Erin

Missy, I like the colors you chose! What are the two on the left? They look like they're the same color on my computer.

Monica and then Sloane going left to right. Very similar but key differences. Sloane is described as muted dark purple with purple red blue and pink shimmer...vampy.

Monica is dark blue tone purple, soft and creamy/glossy with no shimmer.

Adding pics for illustrative purposes but they are not my pictures.

I am waiting for a replacement of one of my zoya 3 free polishes. The bottle was shattered on the way to my house. =(

Thanks Missy! I see the differences now. I really like both colors.

I've never tried purples before. I don't know if they'd look great on me, but I'd like to try them in the summer.

I like them against my pale skin and I think they work through all seasons. Wish you lived close by cause then you could just come on over and try them on your nails and see what you think. :wavey:

Well I just learned that Alcohol swabs are the kiss of death for Zoya polish and it's top coat Armor. I used one to wipe off my hand real fast and all the polish where the alcohol pad touched is now gone!

Wow, that sucks. I use alcohol all day long to clean off my instruments etc. Good thing I wasn't planning on wearing nail polish at work but still...

Is there something else in those swabs? I used alcohol to clean my windows before attaching a privacy film and my fingers were basically soaking in alcohol. Nothing happened to my polish.

missy, I love all of the colors you got.

Apparently I change my polish at an embarrassing rate (every 2 days or so) because I've already worn all 4 of my new Pixie dust. Carter and Arabella were much brighter in person than I expected from swatches, they'll likely end up mostly on my toes. Love, love Stevie and Godiva! I wore Godiva pretty sheer, with just one coat, and it was so neutral and sparkly. An added bonus is that they dry really quick, so without a base and top coat and only one coat of polish I was done in less than 5 minutes.

Zoya Stevie & China Glaze Good Witch?

I also wipe my polished nails down with alcohol before applying the top coat because I don't do everything at once. There has to be something else that's causing a reaction.

Gah, my ipod photos are the worst!
China Glaze Long Kiss
It's a little darker with some more brown than OPI I'm Not Really a Waitress.
And my Christmas present. It was one of Blue Nile's Black Friday deals.

It's just 70% alcohol on a little cotton pad.

Here's a pic of OPI's Red My Fortune Cookie that I'm wearing now. It's a really pretty red-orange. I tried to upload my own pic but it's not working well right now. This photo isn't me.

Texaskj, nice color. I like brownish reds.

Missy, I use CND Stickey base coat. It extends the polish wear time and prevents staining.

Violet, Essie has lots of light pink see through polishes that last a while on me and chipping is barely noticeable. I use muchi puchi but mademoiselle and ballet slippers are also good options.

Thanks for the info baby monster!

That sucks, Ame. I think the alcohol I have at home is over 90%, and I've never had that problem even with frequent use. Will someone else try it and see if it happens to them?

One thing that always strips nail polish for me is chemical sunblock, but a topcoat usually helps. I try to stick to physical sunblocks but options are sometimes limited while on vacation.

I agree.
My biggest problem is that I have a tendency to buy the same colors over and over with precious little difference.
I'm always criss-crossing Ulta to check colors to see how different they are.

I thought it was totally weird. I wish I had thought to try it with my 90% that i use on my diamonds before I removed the polish...I wondered if it was their topcoat that failed or what...I might try it out with my usual top coat, that Nubar stuff. I use these alcohol pads ALL THE TIME, and this is the first time this has ever happened.

Interesting. I wear chemical sunscreen on my hands daily and never noticed any reaction with polish.

Coppertone Sports always makes my polish really hazy looking. It doesn't actually strip it off completely, but you can see the top layer is gone. It doesn't happen with topcoat though, just regular polish.
