I decided to set my AGL heated Ceylon sapphire like this using platinum head and darken 14K gold shank.


The "twins" are set in slightly darken 18k white gold.

What’s the background of the chrysoberyl ring? Original setting? I don’t see many chrysoberyl in that type of setting so I’m curious.

It’s an antique setting I bought ages ago to put a pad sapphire in, but it didn’t do the pad justice. The original stone was a watery windowed aquamarine.

So first is the original setting, the 1st incarnation, and what I’m trying now.

Thank you!! Just checking the paperwork, it says aqua quartz and 0.25 ctw diamonds. Set in 18K and sterling silver

My first emerald piece! Green is my favourite colour in gemstones and one day, I’d love to own a gumball of an emerald cabochon (or sugarloaf) but for now, this pre-loved Cartier Ellipse ring scratches that itch.

The emerald itself is quite battered and a bit loose in its setting, but I’m careful not to wear it when doing anything laborious.

I’m also surprised by the weight of the item - it’s about 8.5g and 3mm thick, so it took my finger a few days to get used to the chunkiness. But it feels like a lovely, weighty piece on the hand.

To be honest, I haven’t seen enough emeralds to know how this one fares, but I do like the colour and saturation of the stone.
