Thanks to @seaurchin, I’ve really set my mind to getting this done!!! @Musia @joelly LET’S DO THIS!!

Let’s post our goals and whatever else you feel like you wanna talk about! Maybe what we feel like has worked in the past and even if you’re feeling down and wanna eat a brownie! Well, I’m not gonna stop you cuz being too strict is what ruins a good diet! Okie! Let’s go!

Ooh I like this. I started my weight loss journey this year at 149 lbs and have gone down to 127 lbs but am now plateauing. Last week I walked a minimum of 2 miles/ day, doing 8 miles a couple of days. I still eat healthy but have been less restrictive. I’ve started also adding other exercises (jump rope, squats, planks, etc). I drink lots of water all day. I actually went up from 126 last week. I’d appreciate some help cause this sucks.

Or you could post it in the thread I have already started for goals for the next month.

I hope you don’t think I was trying to steal your thunder @seaurchin! I didn’t want to completely thread jack and make it all about my weight loss journey!

Edit: I’ve asked the mods to delete the thread. We can all come together on yours and lift each other up :appl:

Just my 2 cents, I think it’d be nice to keep the 2 separate. Especially since weight loss is an ever evolving goal (keeping it off is tough, when you reach your initial goal you make a new one, etc) whereas I can paint my shed once and be done with it. Plus it’d be nice to have weight loss specific feedback all in one place. Sometimes threads get so long they get a bit hard to keep up with and navigate.

Hmmm, so keep it up? I just felt bad because I didn’t want to seem like I was taking over. This weight loss thing has been weighing on me for a while and @seaurchin wonderful thread really got me motivated.

edit: no pun intended. I hate puns.

I like them separate for the sheer fact that it’s an ever changing goal. I also like when threads are topic specific because you can easily Google them and find what you need down the road. When they’re broader they tend to be hard to go through.

Just wanted to add - we can (and IMO should) have 30 day goals anyway that are separate to weight loss. Even if it’s just something small. No reason not to have both threads.

I would love a fresh weight loss thread. Keep it!

Shelter in place led me to lose 3+ lbs off that bat. Slept more and ate less. More importantly, ate when I felt hungry. Going to work, i had to eat on other people's schedules, and eat a lot of takeout lol.

I actually just weighed myself not too long ago and I'm down another 0.4lbs despite having just consumed a slice of pizza.

I sound like a broken record, but i really like those leslie Sansone walking videos. I put one on a tablet, lower the volume, and run it while watching TV. Even if it's just 5 mins at a stretch. This is my setup. 20200818_164028.jpg

Thank you @Spring Day for creating this thread.

I need to lose 40 lbs.

I used to do a LOT of walking but now due to my being immune-compromised that DH is basically locking me in this house. I can open a window and walk on the treadmill which is NOT the same. Fresh air is irreplaceable.

I'm signing up to beach body on demand which is like a buffet of exercises. I have got some dumbbells to use as well.

My goal is to work out 6 times a week for at least 20 mins. Daily intermittent fasting 16:8 (eating window is between 12-8).

Do you like this set up more than just jogging outside? For whatever reason not moving is a huge issue issue for me (at least it was when I used to go to the gym). Being stuck somewhere I’ve walked to is a huge motivator for me to walk back but with winter around the corner I need to come up with another option.

Yes, I like this better bc i have seasonal allergies, and i can walk comfortably in AC. This also allows me to walk in the winter. Try one of her videos if you haven't yet. Its not just walking per se. You'll see.

Going to follow this thread too!

I've already posted about gaining a bit of weight on & off over the last couple of years, sort of yoyo-ing these few pounds despite this never happening to me before, but now it won't shift. The yoyo has just yo'ed! I will be booking in for thyroid (both sisters underactive) & hormone testing later this week with my Dr, but in the meantime I have upped my exercise to 6 days a week & really started watching every single morsel I put in my mouth.

So far I'm feeling pretty fatigued but pleased with my efforts.

My goal is loosing 7lbs/months. It means that if I am good at dieting and exercising, by Christmas I would be hopefully 28lbs lighter. 120lbs is a good weight for my 5'2'' body and it is going to keep me cheerful and happy. However I love how I look and feel when my weight is 110lbs, no heavier than 115lbs. So this magical number 110lbs is my main goal.

I had been losing weight thanks to a great weight loss specialist I got referred to. I discovered things about my body that made past attempts not only fail, but added to my problems. Then I hurt my back... September - December was huge amounts of pain and severe issues such that I couldn't even stand many days. DH did the cooking plus having to help me with everything from showering to dressing to even using the bathroom. I went from the 4-5 meals per day my body needs to lose weight to 1-2 meals per day. I was either way high on the calories (pasta or rice being favorites of DH) or super low on calories. That continued through February as I was very restricted on moving after spine surgery. Then COVID.... Meals were missed as we were both too sick to notice or care and those which we did have tended to be bake at home bread (shove it in the oven to heat essentially) and prepared soups as that was all I could manage between being sick and still struggling with my back.

Anyway, I am currently 308 pounds. Goal weight is 140 pounds. I'm working hard to get back in the routine of eating 4-5 meals per day using the guidelines from the weight loss person. I start PT for my back this week so can hopefully get the go ahead to start moving and exercising again.

I'm not looking for weightloss exactly (pregnant) BUT I have been slacking in my second trimester and need to start using my Peloton again. Does anyone else have one? We have the bike and hope to add the tread sometime next year.

Congrats!! That’s super exciting. I have no Peloton advice, sorry.

Dinner! 325 calories and absolutely delicious. I was over by 2g on my fat target, but am not stressing over that small difference.

Beef taco salad made with smoked beef tri tip, fresh salsa, grape tomatoes, and spring mix. IMG_20200818_184047721.jpg

It is! DH had traditional tacos. I don't feel like I missed out at all. My plate was heaped with deliciousness.

I would like to lose a bit of weight, but I’m awaiting an ortho consult for my knee, so I’m a lot less active since Dottie died, then the lockdown, then this knee issue.

I think I’m going to try the 5:2, because I think I’ll find it easier to have 2 light days of eating and eating relatively normally the other 5.

Breakfast: 235 calories, 12g protein.

1/2 piece of 24 grain toast (no butter)
1 egg
1/2 ounce smoked gouda
4 ounce orange juice

I was off on my protein. Needed 8g more to hit target. I might play with adding spinach another day.

Note: weight loss specialist through hospital has me eating 4-5 times per day with target at 200 calories per meal (a bit higher if I get 4/day) and specific fat and protein targets. I am being monitored to ensure this is healthy for my body. IMG_20200819_081948065.jpg
