well, I like having the fiber which keeps me full, so I rather not juice. The juicer removes the fiber. It was fun to put things in and see them turned to juice; our juicer was loud too. They are fun though!!! Ours wasn''t too hard to clean. If you think you would use it then I would buy one; we inherited ours from my sweet mom. My hubby uses it to juice apricots when he wanted to make apricot beer so he loves it for that project.

Lemme tell ya; that was some might fine beer. hehe

Things are going ok for me today. I did my 30 mins of cardio this AM (and it ZONKED me for some reason) and had my cheerios for breakfast. Actually, Mara''s right that they don''t really fill me up. I think I might try eating oatmeal for breakfast. That always makes me feel MORE than full and it''s really healthy too.

I just hate cleaning the pot!

Lunch will be a Morrocan-ish sweety curry lentil and veg dish.

Dinner is at the house of my FI''s colleague so no control over that! Hope it''s not lard cooked in cream sauce with parmesan on top. But then again, what are the chances that it is?

I think I''ll also go out and buy some nuts today. I hear they make a great snack when you''re dieting. Plus, protein for us mostly non meat eaters.

hi all!

we had lots of fun at the festival yesterday, although my back is now quite sunburned and painful. i put on sunscreen, but clearly not enough, so it''s lots of lotion and aleve for me while it heals. i biked in the morning before we left and did lots of walking at he festival itself, but splurged on some fantastic beer-battered fried shrimp and sweet potato ice cream. back on the wagon today with fage and raspberries for breakfast and tabbouleh with eggplant for lunch. no gym today as i''m getting my hair cut after work, but i may try to bike at home tonight if i have time.

welcome zoe and pave. we are all at different levels here and celebrate everyone''s successes, so don''t feel like you have to be in a certain place to post.

indy, sorry to burst your bubble but movie popcorn is actually one of the worst things you can eat (so sad, since i love it!). I bring my own bag of smart pop instead. here''s something i found online about scary popcron stats:

Why is movie theater popcorn so much worse than the supermarket variety?
Because it’s usually popped in highly saturated coconut oil, and because the servings are on steroids. The seven cups in a buttered small, for example, have 600 calories and 1 1/2 days’ worth of saturated fat. A large (20 cups) with butter has 1,600 calories and nearly four days’ sat fat. Some theaters pop in partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, which is better for your heart, and few use non-hydrogenated oil, which is best (though none are good for your waistline).

X Rated- AMC, Edwards, Hoyts, Regal, United Artists(Coconut oil)
R Rated- Carmike, CineMark, Cineplex Odeon, Loews, Multiplex, Muvico, Showcase
(Partially hydrogenated canola oil)
PG Rated- Century, GKC
(Non-hydrogenated canola or sunflower oil)
G Rated- Your Theater (assuming you can sneak some in)
(Air-Popped)

Movie Theater Popcorn (Popped in coconut oil) Calories Total Fat Saturated Fat
Kid’s (5 cups) 300 20 14
With Butter 470 37 22
Small (7 cups) 400 27 19
With Butter 630 50 29
Medium (11 cups) 650 43 31

p.s. lorelei, i hear the horsies love fresh carrot juice! i personally prefer to eat my fruit whole so that i get the benefits of the fiber.

That wouldn''t surprise me, Miss Jasmine drinks a little coffee out of my hand and begs if she sees me carrying a cup - monster she is!!!

HI:

LL...I have the Breville Juice Fountain and it is great! Simple to use and clean--that is why I bought the Breville. I''ve had mine a couple of years and it still works very well. My Mom has one too and is more adventerous juicing all veggies, but I stick to the routine carrots and fruit.

cheers--Sharon

Sorry, but it''s a rare treat and even if not good for me, Rod will continue to have popcorn with his movie watching experience!!

morning all! or afternoon...in some areas!!

thankfully i am not a huge fan of movie theatre popcorn, i''d much rather have chocolate cake for those 600-1000 calories!!

well it''s back to the grueling work week and on the lower GI wagon, which feels good so far. typical breakfast, now having steel cut oatmeal and tea for snack before lunch. it''s ttotm and i want to work out tonite but not sure what i really want to do. i could hike which would be nice, it''s finally cooler, but i also want to try this zumba class at my new training facility...it''s supposed to be a lot of fun. but maybe next week is better for trying something new. or i could just wuss out and do the work gym for an hour. hehe. that is the most appealing option at this point. we shall see.

IG, nuts are a great snack, just don''t consume too many. ~20 almonds is ~160 cals and about 14g fat. mostly good fat but still fat...and you don''t need that much good fat in your diet per day in general, so try to limit the nut intake to once a day of a small portion. i love nuts and it''s hard for me to portion size them...so i keep them in the house sparingly. i am loving the TJ''s wasabi tamari almonds which are a little spicy and sweet at the same time so it makes 20 almonds seem like way larger of a snack than it really is volume wise.

kimberly, your day yesterday doesn''t sound so bad. sounds like you really didn''t eat much the rest of the day so 3 pieces of pizza is not even a blip on the radar.

lorelei, re the juicing, skip is right in that juicing removes a fair amount of the nutrients in fruit, most nutritionists will tell you to eat the fruit rather than a juice product, even 100% juice. it''s fun for sure, but i wouldn''t let it replace your fruits entirely.

Thanks for the tip Sharon, I will see if my local store carries them! I am liking the idea of juicing as I often have to choke down some fruit and veg, so I don't get all I need * hangs head in shame*

I will have to try harder to eat them if you do lose nutrients with juicing.

Well ladies, now is as good a time as any to start getting into wedding-dress condition. I''ve got about 13 months until our goal date of 10/11/08. As of today I''ve gone gluten free. I have a condition called Celiac Disease which is a condition that is caused by an intolerance to gluten which is found in wheat, barley, some oats, rye, and anything made with or on those products. The only cure is to cut out gluten all together and let me tell you, it''s not easy. I feel like I''m trying to quit smoking, but it''s worse. The foods that are most convenient for me are the ones I can''t have. So I have to plan ahead which I''m not good at. For example, I got to the train station this morning and realized I was starving, like stomach eating liver starving. There was nothing there that I could have for breakfast, so I had 1/2 of a corn muffin. I justified it by saying I''ll start eating GF at lunch. Grr. I''m mad at myself because i KNOW i shouldn''t make excuses. I just need to commit to it.

I don''t have a gym membership and I''m really bad about going even when I do have a membership, so I plan to do most of my exercise during the day and at home at night and over the weekends. The FI has a total gym, free weights, and a heavy (punching) bag so I plan to use those at home. We also might invest in a treadmill.

So here''s my run down for the day:

Breakfast: 1/2 medium corn muffin with butter and black coffee
Still hungry when I got to work so I got a hard-boiled egg and some grapes
walked to work from the train station- approx .25 mile

Lunchtime: low fat black bean enchilada''s with 1 slice of cheddar on top and 1 cup of fresh mango slices, diet coke
I walked up to Trader Joe''s and back total-approx 1 mile I carried shopping bags on the way back

Snack-small handful of raw hazelnuts (1/4 cup?)

Afternoon exercise- walk back to train station .25 mile

Dinner: Probably baked chicken with zuchinni-TJ''s mom gave us tons of zuchs when we visited this weekend. I need recipes for them!

After dinner exercise-LAUNDRY (which requires going to the basement for each load).

I need to weigh myself, but I think I''m starting at 160-170 lbs. and I''m 5'' 7". I''m a 12 but they''re loose. I bought a pair of size 10 jeans at Banana Republic last week but I''m not ready to call myself a 10 yet! I''d like to be a small 10 or a solid 8 for my wedding.

welcome zoe and pave!

mmmmm, movie theatre popcorn....i''m drooling over here.

well, i started my day today with an 8 mile run for about 800 calories burned. so i treated myself to brunch today - eggs and most of a belgian waffle that was YUMMY. i stuck with sugar free syrup and didn''t feel too guilty about it. i also have had an afternoon snack of cottage cheese as I wasn''t hungry for lunch after my brunch and will probably have an apple and peanut butter here shortly. so i''m pretty on track today.

i also spoke to my doctor today and we mutually agreed that the Pill isn''t working out for me. So I am free of its grip starting today and am pretty happy about it. I swear it is the cause for my stall/plateau. So I am cautiously optimistic that this will be a good thing in terms of future weight loss when the hormones wash out in a few months.

i''m off to tour a potential new gym!

Mara, three pieces of pizza isn''t terrible considering I ate 3/4 of a thin omlette and lots of fruit otherwise, but I also had Carls Jr. on Saturday...two fast-foody meals so close together is really out of the ordinary for me and I feel a bit blobbish. In the big picture, not a big deal, but when reflecting back over the week it doesn''t seem so great.

We''re going out to eat tonight as we have play tickets and then it''s back to normal eating, cuz I''m home. I''m sure we''ll go out once this weekend but that''s normal. I just need to cut back a bit so I can get rid of those pesky two lbs.

Skip, that beer sounds yummy. All three of us kids had fun running through the water. It was 95 degrees out at 7:30 last night, it was a nice relief!

Welcome zoe, and there are no "levels" here, we all just try to be healthy, most of the time, and enjoy our splurges when we''re not.

It''s nice to be home, but I miss my nephew already, he''s growing so fast.

Happy Tuesday.

Welcome Pave, Zoe and HH!

So today I have had:

Breakfast: Kashi Go Lean with strawberries & blackberries & bananas (they were out of blueberries at the grocery store this weekend- how rude!)
Coffee

Snack: string cheese (not all of it) and handful of mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts, pistachio, etc.)

Lunch- grilled chicken wrap with some cheese and stuff in it- basically less than 400 calories, side salad of spinach and FF raspberry vinagrette

Weekend was okay food-wise, I really tried to make "better" choices- i.e. went to the movies and took nuts with me rather than popcorn. But still had wine and beer, Italian food Fri. night. And, ok, since it is the topic here, I went to the movies again the next day and ATE POPCORN. Yum. I have to say, it is not a movie to me unless I have popcorn. It''s worth it. There are some things that are not worth it to me to give up completely, so I just have to limit them. Popcorn is one.

Does anyone else feel like they have information overload in regards to nutrition/diets? I sometimes get overwhelmed when trying to decide what to eat, because depending on which type of diet you are following, there are just so many things that cancel each other out. For example:

Lunch. First I think, best thing is salad with grilled chicken of some sort- high protein, low carbs, etc. But the place didn''t really have a good salad. So is it better to have no carbs but higher cal/fat (tuna salad) or the low cal/low fat grilled chicken wrap?
For breakfast- surely it is better or at least ok to have cereal with fruit, but then I think I really shouldn''t have put bananas on it, cause of the sugar, but it does have potassium, which I have heard is great to combat too much sodium in your diet (popcorn yesterday); or maybe it is better to have eggs (no carbs) but then I don''t get enough fruit. It makes my head spin. The best way for me to do it is simply count calories.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! A new week is always a good time to make a fresh start.

Jehosephat, my muscles are in rebellion today after the Bowflex. Feel the burn indeed. I feel the burn, the scorching, and the bbq! But I suppose that''s good...as long as it settles down in a day or two!

I''ll try to write more later regarding the first day (NOT good, sadly) but eating...oh my goodness...between the nervous energy, the lack of sleep, and the sweating off of what felt like a zillion pounds in a 95 degree classroom, I did eat more than normal by this time of day, but it was in response to tummy grumbling and not a ton. Dinner will be light, so I will come in at about 1500 cals for the day.

I may have to lay off cardio during the week -- I am SO spent after climbing 4 flights of stairs about 50 times today!

Chicken alexander for dinner, but only a bit.

Love to you all, PSers

Ahh Jas, you I can tell from all your posts you have such a good heart and you are such an upbeat happy go lucky sweetie pie. I am sorry that it was 95 degrees and your first day wasn't so great! I am glad you got a good workout in! Hang in there!

AG, I hope your knee gets better; I am so sorry you reinjoured it.

Marcy, you will lose that .8 of a pound!!! How are your new classes?

Kimi, I babysat my little nephew today and I thought of you because you love your little nephew. How old is your cutie? My nephew is 1 yr and 9 mo; he is getting so big!

ChinaCat it sounds like you are eating healthy
9.gif
Dang on no blueberries. Yum for strawberry's!

Tdiddy yay for your workout!!!

Hudsen Hawk, sounds like you are doing well. For breakfast I like an egg beater omlet and low fat cheese and toast; that keeps me going. I am sure you will find something that keeps you going; a food journal is always good to keep. Welcome!!!

Lorelei, I love that your horse drinks coffee. heeheee that is too cute!!!

Hey Mara, hope you had a great day. The Zumba class sounds fun! How are the new shoesies?

Hey ya Rod; how are the new bemmers? I bet all your friends want a spin. hehe

IG, you are too funny. Buy Healthy Pop 94% butter popcorn and that is the best, seriously!!!

I did something different today; I talked to a friend and met her at the gym and did a grueling muscle hour. I am having a hard time typing; I think I am going to makes this my new Tuesday night routine. My poor arms; it was an EXCELLENT workout and I have a feeling I will be sore tomorrow. The sad thing is that I have neglected my muscles except for PT workout and I realized how weak my arms are and I need to get strong again. I am excited because I am sure if I keep it up I may help speed up my metabolism by gaining muscle. whooo hooo!

Okay, I gave notice to my accounting firm about 3 weeks ago and now I am nervous because one of the parnters wants to meet me for lunch. I really don't want to so I need to think of a good way to say thanks but no thanks. He did it in a sneaky way having a friend of mine ask me to join them for lunch. I need to get back to her; I don't want to burn bridges but I need to think of a polite way to say no.

Have a great evening all my sweetie friends

Hi everyone. I just want to report what i did for exercise today. It is helping to have this board as an accountability group. thanks. I went to the track after procrastinating for 4 or 5 hours. I only did about a mile, but I am truly easing back into it. It feels good to be moving after a long hiatus. I think I will try some pushups and situps right now. also, for food, I ate healthy for brkfst- oatmeal, yogurt and a banana. lunch i had a sald with mango and a tiny piece of pizza. feels good. Not sure what to have for dinner. i will try to eat healthy though.
I love reading everyones progress. It is egging me on to stay active.
thanks all. have a great night

Kudos; that is the way to do!!! Yay!!!

Evening WWTr''s! DH and I both got home pretty late tonight, and I walked in first to a bit of a disaster zone...little Daisy had decided she needed to destroy one of the gorgeous beaded tiebacks from the drapes, and there were throw pillows all over the area rug as well but at least they hadn''t been shredded. It didn''t take me long to figure out that we had both left this morning without remembering to give the dogs a fresh rawhide bone to keep them occupied (and also we got home later than usual so apparently that made a difference as well.) Oh well, lesson learned. Good excuse to shop for new tiebacks, even though I loved the ones we had.

I went for a long walk last evening, after 4 when the sun wasn''t so blazing as I am still nursing a bit of sunburn. It''s mostly gone and didn''t blister or anything and i''m keeping it well moisturized so hopefully no major peeling will occur. Anyway, I got in about 3.3 miles by myself, which was relaxing with no dogs stopping and smelling everything in sight. Came home and worked on my arms, which are in really good shape save the layer of flubber underneath...that will go away once i drop a few pounds so I''m not worried, I do lots of triceps exercises and I can feel the well toned muscle underneath.

Tonight was not a workout night, I came home and cleaned up the disaster zone, loaded the dishwasher, then we fed ourselves and now I''m exhausted and my tootsies are a little sore...can''t wait for fall weather so I can break out closed-toed shoes and use gel insoles!

Anyone have a good lentil recipe? IG, do you make your Morrocan-ish meal yourself or is it pre-made? I have this package of ready to eat lentils from TJ''s (they''re refridgerated but you can eat them hot or cold), and I am thinking I could substitute them for rice in something veggie-related...

Sounds like everyone''s doing well this new week.

Skippy, congrats on the hour weight lifting session. I''m betting you will be sore tomorrow for sure. If you had mentioned before that you gave notice 3 weeks ago, I missed it. You are right to not want to burn bridges, but you are under no obligation to have lunch with anyone. The way I would handle it is to either politely turn down the lunch offer, or since the invitation came by way of your friend, tell the friend that the only condition under which you would have lunch is if it''s just a nice way for this person to thank you for the time you spent at the firm, but you will not go if the lunch invitation is a ploy to get you to change your mind. I''m sorry you are being put in this position. It''s obviously a testimonial to the value they felt you brought and that''s a nice compliment no matter what!! And thanks for asking about the Bimmers. We are loving them more every day. For me, it''s a revelation driving a BMW. Who knew I was a Bimmer guy after all these years of driving Mercedes, but evidently I am!! I''m looking forward to Monday coming and getting the little ding in my bumper repaired.

Since we worked out hard all three days over the weekend, we took tonight off for sushi, frozen yogurt and coffee at Starbucks. Today was warm, but oppresively warm like it has been the last couple of weeks. Gradually over the next 6 weeks, the temps and humidity levels will come down (unless of course we get paid a visit by a hurricane or tropical storm) and our best time of the year is just around the corner.

We''ll be back in the gym the next two nights for sure.

Kimberly, like Mara said, your indulgence''s weren''t as bad as you think. It made me think about lunch today. We eat as healthy as we can and end up at the food court at the mall near our office. There are two places we can get healthier fare, but one is right next to Sbarro the pizza place. So, he we were eating our grilled chicken and salad and there was this really svelte young lady at the table next to us scarfing down two huge pieces of peperoni pizza. I just wanted to grab that pizza right out of her hand and run with it. I feel a pizza day coming on sometime soon for sure!

I hope you''re all having a nice Tuesday and just think tomorrow''s already the middle of the week!! YAY YAY!!

Hi everyone!
35.gif
I hope everyone had a great day! I had a less than “good” day for food. My office went to lunch at Old Chicago so I ate about ½ of my chicken and pasta, my salad and yes a warm luncheon cc cookie. For supper I made cheeseburger logs with 96% hamburger and fixed a box of scalloped potatoes and ate about ½ cup of them. I am so back on my normal food tomorrow. Long weekends and special outings are killers sometimes. I did an extra round of exercises and stretches tonight.

Sharon, now that school has started that is nice for you to get back to your routine. Yeah for building muscles.
Kimberly, I am glad you had a nice walk. I feel like I’ve been on a gorge fest for a few days. It is funny to think if I ate as much as I did for the last few days a over a year ago, I would have felt like I was on a diet. Good luck with your food in NYC.
Skippy, I am glad you had a beautiful day and went to buy some veggies. We had some raw veggies tonight while we were waiting for dinner to cook. I know the scale will go down again but I hate to see it go the other way. Rats. Too funny about making fine beer with the juicer. I was thinking a juicer would make some fine daiquiris. My new classes are going great. I have about 55 students online and 22 in a campus class. It’s keeping me busy. That is nice you gave notice at your job; maybe the partner just wants to say goodbye to you. Ask you friend why the partner wants to come, they probably know then you can decide if you wish to join them or not. I bet you will be sore from working out with weights tomorrow but it is a good sore.
Lorelei, have fun with your juicer if you get one. I would make sure I can run it through the dishwasher; that is pretty much a requirement for things I buy for the kitchen.
Inde, sorry Cheerios don’t fill you up. I get really hungry if I eat toast or eggs and toast. The cereal seems to stick with me. I hope your dinner isn’t lard basted and cheese soaked; maybe if it is it would be too gross to eat. Nuts are good but can run up your calorie intake pretty quickly.
Shortblonde, thank you for the popcorn info; it never tastes as good as it smells. I hope your sunburn quits hurting soon.
Rod, I also would find it really hard to quit having popcorn at the movies. We don’t go very often though. That is funny you wanted to grab the pizza and run. I’ve been really hungry for pizza and ended up eating it 4 times this weekend - but 2 small pieces each time. I’ve had my fill of it for awhile now.
Mara, I am with you on eating chocolate cake over movie popcorn. But then again I always want chocolate after my popcorn.
Welcome Hudson. Good luck on reaching your goal by your wedding. I think reaching a size 8 by next year is very doable. It sounds like you have some great workout equipment to use.
Tdiddy, great idea to start off the day with a long run and treat yourself to a great brunch. Waffles are yummy. That is good news you are getting off the pill, I hope you see dramatic improvements as it flushes out of your system.
ChinaCat, I agree there are so many different diets and approaches to eating it can be overwhelming but I think we all find the plan that works best for us. I subscribe to the Health and Nutrition Letter and awhile back they did a study comparing several type of diets and different levels of activity on a group of people dieting. Their results found that no one diet or level of activity was any better than another. It all boiled down to if you eat less, you loose weight, if you exercise more you loose weight, if you eat less and exercise more you loose weight. I like to read about the different diets but usually stick to counting calories.
Jas, sorry to hear your first day wasn’t spectacular. It sounds like you’ll be getting in your exercise on those stairs.
Pave, good for going to the track and doing a mile and doing push-ups and set-ups. It is good we have PS to keep on track.
Monarch, sorry to hear you came home to a mess. The dogs were pretty busy, huh? Your walk sounds really nice. I am glad your sunburn didn’t blister.
Well, I must get some school work done.
Have a great Wednesday. Tomorrow is a wonderful new day.

Marcy

Hi marcy,
I go to school online. working on my bachelors of nursing. what classes do you teach? thats so cool.

Rod and Marcy thanks for the good advise. I just finished talking to my friend and it turns out this partner was not informed by HR and the other partner I informed; I felt bad (even though it is not my fault) and sent him a nice thank you email. Glad it wasn't the other way (them try to get me to come back; they were just try to welcome me back) oy! Phew, much better and I will sleep good tonight. I gave my notice because I really want to get some things done before I go back to work in April/May timeframe. I had another firm ask me to go work for them so I am not too worried about finding work. I guess people in my industry are in demand (auditing field/accounting). I just want to find a job that is perfect for me; less travel and less hours (50-60 hr weeks get tiring). I loved what I did; I love the people I worked w/but the hours and travel were getting to me. Okay, sorry for going on and on; please forgive me.

Thanks for your support; I think this is the best thread ever and the people here rock. I love that we can confess our eating sins and we don't judge each other! Yay for a great group and yay for Pricescope! Cheers to our health!!!

Sweet dreams all!

evening wwters! sounds like everyone had a pretty good tuesday...so cool that tomorrow is the middle of the week hehe.

my update is pretty typical, worked out, ate right...weighed myself at the gym and seem to have lost another lb possibly, i''m kind of bloated right now from ttotm so who knows for sure. i went to the gym at the office after work and did 50 minutes on the treadmill with a run walk combo and did 3.75 miles and burned about 375 cals. then did arm weight and machines for about 15 min.

snack was TJ oatmeal. lunch was a grilled citrus chicken breast from whole foods deli area and a container of fresh mixed melon. snack was a 1/2 a luna bar and this new bar i found called ruth''s hemp power...it was pretty tasty, but it''s mostly flax and nuts...this one was banana peanut butter for 170 cals and only 6g sugar, better than the luna bar by a little.

dinner was simple since greg is at rehearsal...so i had a TJ''s chipotle chicken sausage with mushrooms and egg whites and a bit of cheese, yummy. and 2 flaxseed sprouted bread slices toasted with light butter. lots of water. dessert will be some type of frozen yogurt or ice cream. now i''m just catching up on TV...gotta love tivo.

skippy the new shoes will take a bit to break in but they''ll get there! jas sorry to hear your day wasn''t that fabulous but yay for lots of stairs. that''s a mini workout in and of itself! kim, a few pieces of pizza and a burger won''t totally derail you...you''ll be back on track in no time, you are so disciplined. rod, i love sbarro pizza i am so sad to say...it''s something about that weird mall food that makes it desirable. haven''t had it in a long time though. and i think you should give into the pizza demon once in a while or else you will one day just snap and grab someone''s and run off with it!! china cat and pave..good for sticking with it and doing quite well to start! monnie sorry to hear about the mess with the doggies. tdiddy, it is so amazing to me you do such long runs, good for you!

hope everyone has a great night!

Pave, I teach a 4 credit hour astronomy class with lab. It’s a fun class to teach but sure keeps me busy. That is great you are working on your nursing degree online.
Skippy, you are a busy lady. That is nice you’ll take some time off to get some things done then look for a job in the spring. I am sure you’ll be turning away offers when you are in the market for a job. I get to a point where I get sick of working 2 jobs; the teaching takes quite a bit of my time on top of working full time. I’m a glutton for punishment though and always agree to take on extra students. You are right; this WWT thread is full of wonderful, caring people.
Mara, that is wonderful to hear you lost another pound. That old pizza demon caught me this weekend. I’m pretty excited to that tomorrow is already the middle of the week. It’s all downhill from there.
Well, it is well past my bedtime so I’d best head that way.
Take care everyone.

Thanks for the tips on the juicers! I think I will definitely look into it...

I did a good hard hour on the treadmill and ellip last night and really got into it, it was one of those days when I could just keep on going, so pleased with that

Hello all from the land of the missing Dee! I didn''t get to work out officially yesterday but I helped a client unload her car after the closing in 95 degree heat, and then there was much bending and reaching to unpack the boxes, so I''m counting it as exercise, LOL. My neck is just KILLING me today (can hardly turn my head) and the client accidentally closed the truck of the car on my arm so I''m going to have a crazy long buise right above my watch. It already hurts like hell.

Today is my birthday and I was going to give myself the present of not stepping on the scale but I forgot I wasn''t going to do it and by the time I remembered there was a number glaring up at me from the evil machine. Ug. I did resist the birthday donuts this morning in the pantry though, so that counts for something!

Monnie, the HH makes a wonderful cold salad with lentils, couscous, carrots, and some other things. Does that appeal to you or are you looking for something hot? Let me know and if you want it I''ll ge the recipe from him.

Happy Birthday Dear DeeJay, Happy Birthday Dear DeeJay, Happy Birthday to YOU!!!!

Hi wwt''ers...

i''m still here, working out and trying to eat well, although now that i''m pregnant, I don''t like to do anything with artificial sweetners etc in them so it''s back to real sugar or nothing at all. so far it''s been fine though. I''m making Mara''s lasagna recipe tonight for dinner. I went to the store yesterday to buy the ingredients and they no longer carry the Emeril''s kicked up tomato...so bummed. then I went to another stone and they had 3 jars left with a closeout sign so I guess they aren''t making it any more, or the stores in my area are no longer going to carry it. Mara, you''ll have to let me know if that''s the same for you and if you end up finding a suitable replacement. there are some other brands that might work, but I just don''t like changing what i already know I love and is such a hit in my household.

off to the gym in a bit....hope you all have a great day..

happy birthday dj! (and i would love the lentil salad recipe if you are willing to share)

i''m off to the farmers market, will try to check in later. have a good one!
