well, I like having the fiber which keeps me full, so I rather not juice. The juicer removes the fiber. It was fun to put things in and see them turned to juice; our juicer was loud too. They are fun though!!! Ours wasn''t too hard to clean. If you think you would use it then I would buy one; we inherited ours from my sweet mom. My hubby uses it to juice apricots when he wanted to make apricot beer so he loves it for that project.Date: 9/4/2007 11:54:05 AM

Awww...thank you Skippers!! I can imagine cleaning them after use is a pain?
That wouldn''t surprise me, Miss Jasmine drinks a little coffee out of my hand and begs if she sees me carrying a cup - monster she is!!!Date: 9/4/2007 12:07:21 PM

p.s. lorelei, i hear the horsies love fresh carrot juice! i personally prefer to eat my fruit whole so that i get the benefits of the fiber.

Thanks for the tip Sharon, I will see if my local store carries them! I am liking the idea of juicing as I often have to choke down some fruit and veg, so I don't get all I need * hangs head in shame*Date: 9/4/2007 12:20:57 PM

LL...I have the Breville Juice Fountain and it is great! Simple to use and clean--that is why I bought the Breville. I've had mine a couple of years and it still works very well. My Mom has one too and is more adventerous juicing all veggies, but I stick to the routine carrots and fruit.
cheers--Sharon
Kudos; that is the way to do!!! Yay!!!Date: 9/4/2007 9:51:58 PM

Hi everyone. I just want to report what i did for exercise today. It is helping to have this board as an accountability group. thanks. I went to the track after procrastinating for 4 or 5 hours. I only did about a mile, but I am truly easing back into it. It feels good to be moving after a long hiatus. I think I will try some pushups and situps right now. also, for food, I ate healthy for brkfst- oatmeal, yogurt and a banana. lunch i had a sald with mango and a tiny piece of pizza. feels good. Not sure what to have for dinner. i will try to eat healthy though.
I love reading everyones progress. It is egging me on to stay active.
thanks all. have a great night
Monnie, the HH makes a wonderful cold salad with lentils, couscous, carrots, and some other things. Does that appeal to you or are you looking for something hot? Let me know and if you want it I''ll ge the recipe from him.Date: 9/4/2007 10:21:01 PM

Anyone have a good lentil recipe? IG, do you make your Morrocan-ish meal yourself or is it pre-made? I have this package of ready to eat lentils from TJ''s (they''re refridgerated but you can eat them hot or cold), and I am thinking I could substitute them for rice in something veggie-related...

Hello all from the land of the missing Dee! I didn''t get to work out officially yesterday but I helped a client unload her car after the closing in 95 degree heat, and then there was much bending and reaching to unpack the boxes, so I''m counting it as exercise, LOL. My neck is just KILLING me today (can hardly turn my head) and the client accidentally closed the truck of the car on my arm so I''m going to have a crazy long buise right above my watch. It already hurts like hell.
Today is my birthday and I was going to give myself the present of not stepping on the scale but I forgot I wasn''t going to do it and by the time I remembered there was a number glaring up at me from the evil machine. Ug. I did resist the birthday donuts this morning in the pantry though, so that counts for something!
