Going to take a quick detour back to spacers. There are some that are around .80mm. I put a picture in my post so you can see. In this picture I have my 2.5mm platinum black diamond band, skinny platinum spacer, 1.5mm rose gold knife edge band, and my 3 or 4mm white diamond band. Spacers don't need to be huge and extremely visible to do their job. I got my 1.5mm band (also meant to be a spacer but I don't use it as one as both my gold bands come off after a few hours so I don't get rashy) and my .80 mm platinum one at different places on etsy. Hopefully seeing spacers of different sizes might help you feel better if you do end up going down the spacer path. I can also give you the name of the vendor I got my .80mm one if you want. Just don't want to bombard you with more if you just decide to stay spacerless anyway.
Oh wow that .8 is TINY I almost didn't even see it at first. I found this 1mm on Amazon, $50 for 10k $60 for 14k. My rings will be 14k but I could order both and see if I like them... Free returns.
Guess what guysssss... My rings are here! They were actually delivered on Wednesday but I sent them to my fiancé's office and he worked from home all freaking week and made me wait! Obviously the engagement ring setting is empty right now. I'll be taking it in next week to be set.
The engagement ring prongs are sized for a 0.75 head (the jeweler will stretch it a bit for my .88 Lightbox diamond) and the wedding ring is 0.49 tcw 7 stone mined diamonds. I don't think the wedding ring stones are graded, at least they don't come with a certificate.
And here's one pic with my current 0.5 Lightbox ring in white gold.
I'm feeling very good about this change. Excited to see it all finished. I'll try to take a pic with the new Lightbox diamond sitting in the empty setting when I get home but it might be too difficult while it's still in the necklace setting.
