Pic of the ring I am giving to my girlfriend... ordered from bluenile, it's the Flora Vida Diamond engagement ring in platinum setting. Center stone is 0.71 Carats H colour Internally Flawless with an "Ideal Cut" (triple ex on GIA report). Diamond also has very strong blue fluorescence with none of the negative effects of fluorescence. This photo was taken with my cell phone so picture quality isn't great, I will try to get a photo on here that shows the diamond with fluorescence.

Pretty ring! I love the setting.

This picture does it no justice, but here is my (well, soon-to-be-mine!) gorgeous .7 asscher in an heirloom 18k gold setting. It's a size 4, so it looks like a full carat on my teensy finger. :)

Hi And thank you! There are some very good websites that carry antique replica settings, one is Leigh Jay Nacht - http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/

Another site to go for antique replica settings is Single Stone - http://singlestone.com/

Antique settings - Jewels by Erica Grace - http://jewelsbyericagrace.com/

Of course there is eBay - do a search for "antique engagement ring settings" - hundreds come up to look at.

My setting is a custom setting that was made by my jeweler in Philadelphia. I am so happy with it I can't believe how substantial it looks on my finger and the detail is amazing from every angle. I find myself staring and admiring it throughout the day. The 6 mm stone was huge to me when my husband first proposed to me with it (as a solitaire) so many years ago, but as time went on DSS set in. Now the diameter of the head of my new ring with halo is 12 mm!

Hope this helps! Lots of luck with your search!

What is the size of the wedding band you have paired with it?

The wedding band is a seven stone consisting of .25 pointers. :)) I'm not sure what you meant by size? The seven stone band is a size 4-3/4 and I wear it on my left hand (alongside my recent engagement ring upgrade). I was trying on the .78 Art Deco ring alongside the wedding band just for fun. I actually wear the Art Deco ring as my RHR which is a size 5-3/4 - the center stone was actually my original engagement diamond that DH proposed to me with. For reference, the Art Deco ring's halo diameter is 12 mm. The .78 stone is 6 mm. :sun:

That is what I was wondering - the size of each of the stones. It looks like a nice substantial piece that can pair up with your eng ring or wear on its own! It's fun to have options! Your eng ring is just SO beautiful like a work of art :))

Earlier this year I recieved a replacement with upgrade of 2ct center round and i set in halo and I absolutely love it. However, I wasn't comfortable wearing to work as I find it very appropriate. I decided to treat myself w/ early Christmas gift to myself; it's cute and I love it.

Center: SI2 and H color .50ct
Halo/setting: Platinium .50ctw
Size: 4.5

My camera broke so iphone pic does not do justice.

Hi guys, first post on the forums!

I've just purchased this for my girlfriend (hopefully soon to be fiance!)
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VS2-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1515762.asp

With this setting:

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/platinum-six-prong-knife-edged-solitaire-engagement-ring-handmade-17192p.html

Please tell me I've made the right choice! There was one I was looking at a little bigger(0.75), but the cut, polish and symmetry just wasn't the same - it was also H colour.
I think I've done well, looking forward to seeing the finished article when it comes across the atlantic (hopefully in time for Christmas!)

Hey Cranester -welcome to Pricescope! I love solitaire settings like the one you chose! You really can't go wrong with such a classic. I would post this in "Rocky Talky" where the experts will be able to give you more detailed feedback. Looking forward to seeing your "Show me the Bling" post when you receive the ring!

.90 RB GIA Baby is home. Fiance and I are thrilled!

Hello all. Beautiful stones and settings here. I don't think I've every had to pull out the mental fortitude and patience while waiting those three weeks for a trellis setting to be made from scratch for my 3.5 size. The only other time I had to quell the impatience and excitement of this magnitude was giving birth to my only daughter, lol. Anyway, here is my 1-day old .90 RB GIA TripleEx, I, VS. Last night I stood in the dark with just one night lamp on and snapped a picture with my hand near the lamp and I cannot tell you the fire this stone caught solely from that one small night lamp bulb in the complete darkness. Wow. This is why, of you can, to always demand the excellent cuts. Congratulations to everyone and happy holidays!

A new shot of my 0.98 carat center stone. I love this size, no DSS for me! Who needs a big stone? ;))
