I'm not on Twitter so this thread has been very informative for me. I came here to see if Trump issued an anti-Arnold Schwartzenneger tweet yet today. After reading this article, I anticipate one soon given these guys' past exchanges.


Schwarzenegger quits ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ citing Trump

Arnold Schwarzenegger says his first season as host of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" is also his last.

In remarks Friday, the former California governor cited President Trump, who has repeatedly mocked the ratings of his reality TV replacement, as his reason.

“Even if asked [to do it again] I would decline,” Schwarzenegger told Empire magazine. "I learned a lot, I had a great time, it was a really great opportunity. But under the circumstances, I don’t want to do it again.”

“With Trump being involved in the show people have a bad taste and don’t want to participate as a spectator or sponsor or in any other way support the show. It’s a very divisive period right now and I think the show got caught up in all that division."
Schwarzenegger's ratings as host of "Apprentice" have lagged far behind Trump's, finishing the season last in its time slot among the four broadcast networks.

In his remarks Friday, he blamed Trump for the bad numbers.

“It’s not about the show,” Schwarzenegger said. “Because everyone I ran into came up to me and said ‘I love the show…but I turned it off as I read Trump’s name I’m outta there.’”

“When people found out that Trump was still involved as executive producer and was still receiving money from the show, then half the people [started] boycotting it,” he added.

Despite still serving as executive producer, Trump has more than once mocked the drop in viewership.

"Now compare him to my season 1," Trump tweeted in January. "But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary."

Schwarzenegger spoke out against Trump during last year's campaign and has sharply criticized his travel ban, saying the executive order "makes us look stupid."

Last month, after the president pointed out the drop in "Apprentice" ratings during his comments at the National Prayer Breakfast, the former Republican governor responded on Twitter.

"Hey Donald, I have a great idea," Schwarzenegger said. "You take over TV, because you're such an expert in ratings, and I take over your job. And then people can finally sleep comfortable again. Hmm?"

Watched it twice with Arnold. It was awful, which might explain the low ratings.

I could not care less about his spelling, but that he is doing something about failing education in many urban cities.

I worked in the school systems first a wealthier city, then a poorer one and saw it first hand what a difference there was.

I also saw poorer parents on TV sitting at the charter school lotteries saying prayers to themselves that their children would be chosen

Yeah, it's difficult to say what's causing the bad ratings - Trump will of course blame Arnold's performance, while anti Trumpers will blame dislike for Trump as the issue (people won't watch bc of his association with the show, sponsors don't want to support it, etc). You know which camp I fall into, lol.

i think it would be great if Arnie got his own new show that is successful with ratings were through the roof. I would watch it, whatever it may be.

I watched a couple of seasons of the non-celebrity Apprentice and thought it was meh. A former work colleague was on it during the Omarosa season. I watched more of the celebrity Apprentice and thought it was already jumping the shark the past few seasons. We didn't watch the Arnie season at all because the concept was already getting lame plus the Trump factor. As an aside, Trump got rid of his employee co-hosts and replaced them with his kids. Job creator my a$$, he he.

I wish I could remember where I read about this. They even listed the sponsors who were backing out and didn't want to be associated with Trump. The Apprentice has been on the air since 2004. I'm sure part of the problem is people are just tired of the show. Very few TV shows are still on the air after 13 years.

Someone is posting stuff immediately after Chump's tweets that come from an account named Meliana Trump, but in reading though a lot of the tweets I don't think the account belongs to her. Who ever that tweeter is though they are very Johnny On The Ball -- Tweeto tweets and within one minute "Melania Trump" tweets a response.
