Thoughts on this round brilliant?

I don't like either of those options, as neither look to be eye clean. Also, it is entirely possible to get an H color, or even a G color, at that price. Here is a great example of a G/VS1:

Crown angle is a little low at 33.5, but it still has a respectable crown height of 15% thanks to the small 55% table. Beautiful ASET and H&A scores, and a little over $9k for the bank wire price.

Another good option at H color and $1k cheaper at $8k. Clouds are the grade-setting inclusion here, and while that's usually okay at the VS2 level, I would still want confirmation that the stone wasn't cloudy before purchasing:

But $500 cheaper here:

Thanks for your quick feedback. I think I had been focused in finding something in WF, but looks like it might make more sense to look at stones elsewhere.

I'd stick with Whiteflash because they have an outstanding upgrade policy as well as top cut diamonds. When you deal with vendors who carry virtual inventory, we see it happen often that people choose a diamond, pay for it, and then they find out that the diamond had already sold elsewhere and you have to wait for your refund before buying another stone. (That happened the last two times I recommended stones from Enchanted Diamonds, and therefore, I no longer reocommend stones from there since they don't keep their site updated well.) You don't have to worry about any of that with Whiteflash in-house selections.

This is a good option if you can stretch just a bit:

If not, I'd add this one to your possibilities and ask WF to compare color and clarity of your top choices.

Go for the WF diamondseeker recommends. Great upgrade policy!

I would echo what others have said about staying with a trusted vendor with a great trade-up policy. Based on your budget I found another one to add to the mix. It is VS1, so no issues with clarity, and the stone looks absolutely beautiful! How do you plan to set it?

It is important to consider the upgrade policy of each vendor, as they vary significantly. One of the reasons that I added this stone to the mix is that Victor Canera's upgrade policy is identical to Whiteflash's for his round diamonds. So you really can't go wrong with either one! However, once you narrow down the type of setting you would like, that may become one of the deciding factors.

Great - thank you all for some recs and food for thought. My bf and I are looking to get engaged in the next few months so lots to think about. I have always wanted my stone from WF since my friend got hers from there, and I have lurked the pricescope forums over the last year and it does seem to have a fantastic upgrade policy and service, but I also realized Yadav has a show room in SF, which is where we live, so might be worth it for us to stop by there. :)

I am less picky about color since I do like some warmth and plan to set with a rose gold pave diamond band with white gold prongs... keep going back between 4 and 6 prongs, so we shall see..

It sounds like you have a good idea about what you want, which is half the battle! Keep us posted as things progress!!

Thank you! Though - I just had lunch with a new friend who showed me her gorgeous 2.5 ct L set in rose gold, and now I'm wondering if I should go lower in color since it was so gorgeous and I could not tell it was a lower color at all. Guess I will need to try on more stones at a jewelers.
