Thoughts on this cushion / setting combo?

After much research I have picked what I think should make a pretty nice engagement ring...here's hoping she says yes

Stats:

Approx 1.5 carats cushion cut (x factor pattern)
Color G
IF Clarity
59% Table
69% Depth
Attached is a picture of the stone itself

I was going to pair it with the Tacori 2620 setting. Is there anything I should be wary of with this combo of diamond and setting?

I'd like to see an ASET.

Tacori setting sounds great. As long as that's what she's asked for. I wouldn't pony up for Tacori unless it was specifically specified.

She did not ask for a tacori specifically I just found it through browsing around here and kind of thought she'd enjoy it the most - do you have recommendations of something similar that would be worth looking into?

Regarding the ASET. That is AN ASET, but it is a computer generated one. I was hoping for one of the actual stone. Like this one: http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/gemsimages/medium/70425A_1.jpg it's an ASET picture from an actual stone.

here is one of my FAVORITE plain shank halos. If you are getting your stone from engagement rings direct i think they could replicate this very easily (but without the diamonds on the donut at the bottom so it doesnt scratch the wb)

There are designers that do similar settings. But they are all custom settings.

Bridget Durnell also has a version. Not up on her site though.


October2008bride is a PSer that has a rosebud ring. I don't recall who made it for her though I can look it up later.

Thanks guys - the rosebud style is really neat - any idea of vendors who have them posted online? I wasn't having much luck

The other style I liked was something like the brian gavin novela setting..

Do you think that would look better than the tacori

The Rosebud by Steven is lovely. My halo is by him and I would recommend him. I'm just not sure going the custom route is going to save you money. You will be getting awesome quality though.

I think it really depends on what she likes. Does she want a halo? No halo? Has she liked any rings anywhere?
