Thoughts on this 2.8 HCA stone?

At 2.8 I realize this is out of the recommended 1-2 range for HCA but to my untrained eye it seems to have brightness and sparkle. 2.5 carats H color VS2, eye clean. Thoughts?

Table size 56.5 %
Crown height angle 36
Pavilion angle 40.7
Total depth 62.7
HCA 2.8

It's too deep at 62.7 and will lose spread, and add the high 36 crown that would be an easy pass for me. You can do much better definitely. What size, clarity and color are you looking for? What is your budget?
People will chime in and can find you an amazing performing stone.

Thanks very much. Looking at lab diamonds actually. GIA equivalent to an H or better. Flexible on clarity up to SI1 as long as totally eye clean. Flexible on size - looking anywhere in the 2.0 -3 range. Budget to be determined based on the realities of the market.

Yup, too deep and too high of crown for the pavilion.
It's best to post at least a good photo and ideally Ideascope and ASET images to get better assessment on pricescope. Proportions alone can't tell the whole story.

Wrong forum for lab diamonds. Post under the "Lab Grown Diamonds" forum for help with MMD.

Thanks and sorry for the newbie mistake. Will repost.

If those are gia numbers there is room for a really nice diamond in the numbers that is just a little short on spread.
There is a chance of ags0 light return with a spread penalty kicking it down to 1 but that is only if the lowers and uppers are in the right range with decent optical symmetry and fairly tight angles.
All depends on the actual angles.

Yes, I actually downgraded the IGI specs for this post, possibly too much so. IGI color is F and clarity VS1. Symmetry is IGI excellent FWIW. I’m not sure what other angles you mean - I’ll have to do some more research apparently.

Not sure what you mean by downgraded?
IGI in the US is not considered to be a reliable lab by many.
It may be off from GIA or AGS grading.
Many people will not buy a diamond graded by IGI.
Internationally IGI has a little better reputation but there are different igi labs.

GIA is considered the standard and AGS grades reasonably close close enough on color and clarity and better on cut compared to GIA to be accepted.

The stone I was interested in is a lab diamond ( I realize now that I posted in the wrong place) so GIA reports are not available. I know that IGI isn’t as strict as GIA so I described it as an H even though it is graded higher by IGI. Likewise IGI calls it a VS1 whereas my guess is it’s more of a VS2. The report calls the cut, symmetry and polish “excellent.” This was out of the Antwerp location. Sorry for any confusion.

Ah ok...
Well if those are the actual numbers from the report the diamond can go either way as far as light performance with a small spread hit either way.

I would avoid this stone and look at the suggested ones in the lab diamond forum.
