Ebree, were you wrong with me?

I sure was! Everyone else said girl while I said boy.

Haha! We have video of me in labor and my nurse asking me what I thought it was (BTW they were SOOOO excited it was a surprise) and I said girl. Then DH said boy so he can prove me wrong

Oh the evidence...I LOVE it!!!

Oh wait, maybe the little mass is the opening of my cervix? Is yours hard like that?

My family says you hold it over your wrist, palm up.

So, what we did was use Paul''s wedding band since mine''s not smooth (has the dip thing around the spot for the solitaire), and we looped a thread through it and then held it over our wrists.

I put very little faith in this, but it''s fun to do anyway.

Besides, I''d rather have a girl first.

Well, that''s a lie. I want to dress a little girl up, but I LOVE *love* *LOVE* the way little boys love and adore their mommies. I could go for some of that sweet sugar!!

Nothing like having it on tape, Tacori!!!

fisher, boys grow up and become men but daughters stay little girls forever

It is so perfect we have it on tape! I didn''t even remember he took video (okay I don''t remember a lot of stuff during labor) until we just watched it.

Hey Amber,

Case and point about boys not understanding the whole TTC thing (at all):

So, I was just on FF and Paul saw my chart and he asked where the red lines were (the crosshairs). I told him those don''t come up til you ovulate. He said, "Oh, well how does it know you ovulated?" I said, "It''s based on my temperature." He said, "Oh, so that''s why you do that every morning, huh?"

Um, been doing it for two months (almost) now, and he''s just now cluing in to why I wake up at the butt crack of dawn to jab a thermometer in my mouth. Even though I''ve told him I don''t know how many times.

Aye. Boys.

Nice.

I love him so much, though!!

True. I can''t decide what I''d prefer.

Probably, I''d prefer a girl first. But there''s no way I''d be disappointed with a little boy, either.

I just want a child to love for forever.

I didn''t know you had a surprise sex baby. Looking back, would you have done that any other way?

Speaking of gender predictors, some of my family members swear by the wedding ring swinging pendulum. Back and forth, boy. Swinging circles, girl.

So I just did it with mine, and it swung in a pretty large circle. It was crazy. It slowed down (or maybe I unknowingly slowed it down) and started swinging in a large circle again. Does that mean two little girls for me? I''m hoping for one of each, actually, in any order!

No way! I loved being surprise. Though I had SUCH a strong girl vibe I wasn''t really surprised and would have been SHOCKED if my doc would have said "it''s a boy!" Like you we had no preference for our first. Everything big was neutral anyways in case #2 is the opposite sex. That being said we will probably find out for the next one. I am curious how that feels too.

Is it not CRAZY how the thing starts moving with such momentum?

When we did it, it slowed down between, but didn''t stop.

So, if this was a "real" thing (by the way, it works for my mom and her line of kiddos, and also for my dad), that would be two girlies.

Tacori, was it hard for you not to buy cute girls clothes and other girly items in advance, especially when you knew that they wouldn''t be around a few months later? Or did you just prevent yourself from looking?

I read something recently about the Shettles method, but I can''t seem to find it again. It said that the physical differences that Shettles attributed to the sperm being X or Y, which he used to tell them apart, were actually due to whether they were newer or older sperm. Man, I wish I could find that article.

I woke up this morning at 4:30 (knew I would!) and my temp was 97.3. I fell back asleep and temped again when I woke up at 5:30 (usual temping time) and my temp was 97.7. I recorded the 97.3 and just made a note of the 97.7. So now advanced and research give me crosshairs, but FAM doesn''t. I really don''t think I''ve ovulated. I''m almost positive that I had no CM yesterday, but since I''m not 100% sure that what I''m thinking was leftover semen wasn''t really watery cm, we''re just going to have to keep dtd.

cd 17

I think I finally got EW this morning! Yay! Now if only O will wait a day or two so we have a chance to dtd when dh comes home for the weekend...

Funny how I went from wanted to O so badly just to know that I do, to wanting it to wait!

CD 16.

Spike from 97.3 to 97.87.

Still not in the 98 zone that I had last time, so I guess no O for me as of yet.

Hmph!!

Wait. I just looked at my chart from last cycle, and O day was 97.6 something, then the next day it climbed up over the 98 zone. Interesting.

I guess the next couple days will be the key for charting.

CD 16 woul be really earlier than my last O day (26), but you never know with a "wonky" cycle.

Ooh, good luck Sabine and Fisher! I hope that O is just around the corner for both of you!

Fisher Ovulation occurrs the day BEFORE the temp spike, so the next coupld days will be interesting! Giood luck!

Peony The cervix is about 1 inch in diameter (give or take) and it has a little indentation in the center. The "Soft mass" you are describing could be the cervix, or it could be the spongy-nerve-filled-tissue that is right in front of the cervix! This is also where you bladder resst againt you vaginal wll and it is the g-spot. When you are aroused or your vaginal canal is more stretched out this softer tissue isn;t as obvious, but when you are just wandering around it can be quite spongy. Next time you check, put your finger on the bottom wall and run it up inside. The first thing you will hit will be very textured, fuller tissue that is where you bladder is, then juuuust behind that you will feel a harder, firmer, about an inch in diameter, slippery textured knob. That's the cervix. If you are near ovulation, though, the cervix will be harder to feel since it changes texture and becomes very soft, not much different than the spongy tissue in front of it, so if you are nearing your fertile time it will feel soft like your lips! But it will still probably be possible to feel a little indent in it, this is the os, which is the entry to the cervix and also where CF comes from! The hard peas-sized node you felt is probably not your cervix, since that's too small, but it could be a cervical cyst. It can be common to have cervical cysts that will show up and disappear with your cycle: I have one that appears near my os when I am fertile! Then it goes away again when my cervix firms up. So if your cervix feels soft, like you described, and you possible have a little cyst, then you may be approaching ovulation! But watch the pea-sized node. If it doesn't disappear after you ovulate then get it checked out. Or just ask your doc to check it out next time you are there. It could also just be a random anatomical thing, we all have those too.

Dreamer - great description. We''re so lucky to have you around here!

re: wedding ring test. we did the ring on a hair test last night - all boy, all the time. Just as I''d suspected. lol. I can''t help but want a girl (lots and lots of girls) but I''m psyching myself up for a boy so that I''m not "dissapointed" at the birth. If for some stroke of crazy it is a girl, then I''ll just be happy! :)

Good luck with the O''ing ladies.

These next few days will be interesting!

Hey ladies! Had another temp rise today! So my temps are still up! I decided to test tomorrow, I''ll be 12DPO then. So keep your fingers crossed!

Question though - i just got invited to go to happy hour after work for someone''s retirement. it''s only like 5 other people going, so it will definitely be obvious if I don''t drink. Should I have a drink? I mean I really have no idea if i''m KTFU, but I normally would be spotting already (i spot a few days before AFF) and nothing as of yet. My breasts are also sore (different than the normal tenderness before AF) starting from 8DPO, so as much as I don''t want to get my hopes up, I definitely feel different this cycle.

So what should I do? I can''t not go since it''s literally only a handful of people who were asked, but I really don''t want to drink just in case!

CDT how long is your usual luteal phase, do you know? If it is typically shorter then you could get a bfp today
31.gif
As for drinking, you do not share a blood supply with the embryo until about 3 weeks after implantation so you are fine. Maybe have one drink and nurse it slowly! If you really don''t want to drink, though, just say you have been feeling a little under the weather and you want to abstain in hopes you feel better.

DD - I''m not sure because this is my first month charting, but my cycle is consistently 29-31 days. So I would expect AFF Saturday or Sunday. The weirdest thing though is that I ALWAYS spot a few days before AFF begins, and I have NOTHING! Also, the boob thing, they are sore...not tender like normal this time of the month...they feel like they''ve gone a few rounds w/ a boxer
9.gif
So that''s why I''m starting to wonder...but I''m afraid to test because i don''t want to see a negative!!

So i''ll wait until tomorrow morning....

I think I''ll nurse the one drink, I''m not a big drinker anyway.

Ooh, cdt, that sounds promising. I mean, no, not at all, don't even think about it. Don't even test! (I would). I mean, you're probably not, right?
31.gif

Like DD said, you're probably fine nursing a drink, but if you don't feel like it don't. There are plenty of legit excuses for abstaining, not that you should need one. You have to run a marathon tomorrow.

Fingers crossed!

CDT, how exciting! I hope you get your BFP! Those symptoms sound promising.

I know what you mean about not wanting to see the BFN. Last cycle I was so scared to see a BNF that I just couldn't test before AF was late, but she ended up showing her ugly face
15.gif
I guess I'll end up saving money on HPTs.

ETA: CD5 here...

Oooh, CDT, I''m keeping my fingers crossed for you!

OMG!!! I''m pregnant!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!

You ladies had me really wondering, so like a pyscho I ran out at lunch and bought a test!!! There is DEFINITELY a line...no mistaking!!! Oh my goodness! I can''t believe it, I''m shaking I''m so excited.

I knew something was different the past few days, but didnt'' want to get my hopes up!

I''ll tell DH tonight!

You ladies are the first to know!

In case you''re wondering here''s my chart....

)...then i stopped at the $tree for some halloween things and those
da@n hpt''s were looking at me so i bought 2 so that they''d stop looking at me
9.gif
. aff should arrive late next week, but i am going to test on wednesday(our anniversary) i thought i was all cool about this cycle since i am so relaxed, but that is now out the window since i have the hpt''s in my possesion. they are like crack...i was fine w/out them but now...

Congrats CDT!

Your chart is a pretty classic triphasic patter (second temp shift in the LP) which is associated with pregnancy, so that's pretty cool!

Happy and healthy 9 months sister!

ETA: I just read back for some of your posts here and noticed this was your first month charting after a couple months "au natural"... do you think charting helped you catch the egg or do you think it was just that whole "its a matter of time" thing? Just curious!

thanks ladies! I''m still in shock!

DD - I DEFINITELY think charting is why we got KTFU....I just wish we would have done it sooner! I really thought i was ovulating around day 15 or 16, obviously I was wrong! We were stopping the marathon too early. I think everyone should really try the chart, I didn''t want to do it because i didn''t want to temp! But i''m glad we did!!!

now the worry begins that it''s a sticky!
