Hello everyone!
I am trying to choose a stock setting for a modern round brilliant, and with what I have available to me I have definitely decided on a Stuller setting.
Does anyone have any pictures of a Stuller setting with French-set pavé along the shank? And if you own(ed) it, what do you think of it? The quality of it? Not the diamonds themselves (I would get alternative melee), but the metalwork. I'm particularly interested in solitaire type settings with French-set pavé down the shank. Or even just an eternity type band really so that I can see what it looks like.
I'm strongly considering this combination of setting:
Shank
Short set prongs or medium set prongs or tall set prongs depending on the depth of the diamond and the fact that I would like it as low set as possible within the setting.
I am still waiting to find out if that combination can actually be joined together but I presume so.
Basically I don't have any visualisation ability, and I can't really find any examples of similar settings from Stuller, so I don't know what it will look like in real life. Maybe a bit like this but with the added pavé? Even that's not the real setting. And anyway, I don't know what the pavé looks like from Stuller so it's so difficult!!!
Also I can see there are no holes in the metalwork underneath the pavé and to me that means I won't be able to clean it properly, in which case that might rule it out as an option anyway. At the very least I would expect to be able to put it into an ultrasonic and scrub it with a soft toothbrush on a regular basis. If that's not possible it rules it out for me.
Would be grateful for any pictures/advice etc, although I appreciate this may be like looking for a needle in a pile of needles.
Thanks so much!
