Talk to me about peices that "got away"

Yummy a turquoise is on my list one day!!

I didn't really have a turquoise piece on my list but I would have made an exception for this one!

Still thinking about this one. Where’s my money tree?

@lulu_ma the turquoise one? I love them but they are becoming so $$$ because of gold prices. They need a lot of gold to make them sturdy for turquoise.

Yes, the turquoise one. The bezel bracelet is mine :)

IMG_3608.pngBut it’s in the PS family so I’m not mad.

So many pieces over the course of the past 18 months, saving for my HG…. Someday this spring it will be my turn … she is worth the weight, cause while all these pulled on my heart strings… nothing holds a candle to her

3.45 I/IF Erstwhile Edwardian
She was the one for about a year, sold this past Valentines Day

They're all beautiful but for me that three stone!!

That 3 stone was an AB Marielle, 3.01 I/J … the faceting on that center stone was truly incredible ❤️

I love that Edwardian moval :kiss2:

I have a few that haunt me.

The first I’ve talked about on here a few times. A little orangy brown French cut. It was listed on eBay. I was negotiating with the seller when a dealer swooped in. The dealer then listed it at an eye watering markup. I think about this guy so often it’s ridiculous. I hope to have it recreated someday. I reached out to Gem Concepts about recreating it awhile back but they ignored me. IMG_6988.jpeg

Next up: this 1.8 ct French cut heavy platinum ring from estate diamond jewelry. I didn’t have the funds at the time and was saving up when it sold. I’ve casually thought about recreating it with lab but I can’t seem to bring myself to jump on the lab train. IMG_6989.jpeg

And finally, this brown moval that Alex park sold last year. I didn’t see it until after it sold. I totally would have purchased it.

@Mjay

I thought of her brownie that she missed out on right away … can you imagine that in a rose gold setting??! :kiss2:

Awww thank you for thinking of me! I’ll admit I’ve been eyeballing that stone! A rose gold setting would be to die for! it’s so me, but the money is so not there . I just bought and set that moval, and that little ST, and I’m commissioning a massive aquamarine with Jeff White. Also currently house shopping. It’s a shame. Timing is everything.

Well, everything happens for a reason…. Happy house shopping though!!! So exciting!

Well, add one more to the list.
Luckily she wasn’t my HG, but she was one of my backup plans, and it does make me nervous…. April needs to come fast

Only the most incredible Edwardian antique pear diamond ruby ring to ever exist … yes, someone bought her, and no it wasn’t me. How RUDE! :lol-2:IMG_2731.jpeg

This one too!

I'm a heart lover. This piece sold years ago, but I still think about her all the time. I've never been able to find one I love as much as this one...

My heart will forever belong to this absolutely STUNNING emerald and diamond ring I once saw at my jeweler’s, being consigned on behalf of someone else and therefore at an amazingly unbelievable price. It’s not so much that I can’t recreate it because it wasn’t anything particularly unique, but I definitely can’t do it at that price. It was a humungous emerald with quite a few carats of diamond in it, sigh.

I should’ve snapped it up, but I dithered because back then I was forcing myself to be far more disciplined. So I went home, but two days later I called him up because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It sold in the interim :(

i so want brooches to come back
but im asheamed to say i do not practice what i preach
i mean i wore a big colourful sparkly costume brooch for the coronation (as i didnt have a tiara at hand)
i have a small silver pearl brooch that was a forgotten momento of Grandma i added a bail to so i could wear it as a pendent -which i have done -no way does that count !
the other day i had a top on that had like a cardie bit that was sewn on, it needed a brooch so bad just as a closure as it as it was a cooler day

but i want this brooch so bad !!
it was only a couple of hundred dollars
ive been looking for it at least a couple of years now

These were auction saved pieces that will live forever in my memory…

1. Georgian Aquamarine four stone
*very rare
*I should have bought this, but I wasn’t sure if I loved Georgian pieces :cry2:

I’m stumbled across something incredibly special… a once in a lifetime, never going to find again piece, I will forever regret not buying piece, that needs a center stone. I was thinking sapphire, but after seeing these pictures again, I’m not so sure sapphire is the answer.

This was another Georgian piece I loved, probably should have bought this as well :cry2:

#2. Georgian Rose Cut Pear Dinner Ring

I saw that too… I spotted it originally when it went to auction - someone else noticed it too, lol! I wish I had the funds back then for this! :wall:

Awe. I have those regrets too about other items.
Lately anything I watch at auction goes for triple the amount I’m willing to pay.
I need some good luck dust for auction and lottery tickets
