Yup, we are buying it!

Lesely tells me it is white and will not show a lot of tint. And I don''t care, it is HUUUUUUGGGGEEE!!

I will upgrade color later if I care.

It is huge! And the clarity is exceptional, and a high-J-almost-I is a winner in the color department, imo!
Good decision, Dreamer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats.

But...do we have to wait until May to see it? Any chance of a photo sneak peek from Brian and Lesley? And what about the setting?
Inquiring minds need all the details!
I have not asked them for a photo, I think it will look like all of the photos they have, eh?

When I send my ring in I will request a side-by-side of this diamond and the new one though!

Right now it is between these two for the setting, BGD can order them from the casting company too:

I feel really good knowing that we stayed within our budget quite frankly! We needed to be realistic about what my priorities were (sizesizesizesizesize) and I think this meets them!

This diamond may not be my Hugh jackman, but I think it is totally my Daniel Craig -- Not quite as pretty and talented, but big and sexy as all get out

Jill I realized that my new daimond is almost the same as your first ACA! https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-whiteflash-ring-1-63-ct-j-si2.88765/ And we have the same size hands so I resized the screen and held my hand up to your hand shot on page 2 to see how my new stone will look
2.gif
Looked pretty good!

I also noted that I said in your thread that your stone was my dream size!

I don''t see the point of buying a big bling with bad grading. I rather wear a decent size but have good grading. That''s just me!

Seriously, that''s what you chose to contribute to this discussion as your very first post xKsTx?

There is nothing better than an AGSO.

Oh dreamer, when I clicked on the link it said sold and my heart started racing. Glad to see you snagged it. I would trust Brian on the color. And for whoever said you were not getting a good stone, well they have never been in the presence of BGD signature J stones. His J''s are really beautiful. It is going to be a whopper!

Congrats! I''m glad you''re happy with your decision :)

yay!!!
36.gif

So excited for you... the diamond looks beautiful!

Dreamer, I''m excited for you! I was wondering if you''d find something that spoke to you. I suspect that having the size you want is gonna make other nitpickies fade into the background. I think a high color J is a pretty sweet spot for a lot of people. Just because you couldn''t live with a K (that was too small for your taste anyway) doesn''t mean an especially white J will be too.

And a VS1? Wow, I bet you''ll have a hard time finding the inclusions with a loupe. That''s great!

I am glad you went for it. I was gonna say that is what I would do, but seeing that you did, even better
2.gif
A 1.66 is gonna look HUGE compared to a 1.2. I''ll bet that''ll make the color very bearable!

Good for you Dreamer, I had a J stone from Brian and it was one of the prettiest things I have ever seen! Hope you lovelovelove your new stone!

good grading? bad grading? This is a superbly cut stone - nothing bad about it! Unless you are still stuck in the olden days when white supremacy ruled... nowadays we like ALL the colors! We have our priorities straight :)

CONGRATS DREAMER!!!

those two settings look identical to me - am I missing something? lol

YAY!! Super congrats dreamer. Good for you making a decision! And it will be a *rock* to behold! I vote the first one, cause the band is thinner.

I was going to ask this as a general question (but since you seem to be a pro.. lol) How exactly do you package your items to ship? UPS? USPS? FEDEX? overnight??

Solid vs open cathedral .. you have to click on the image to see the difference

Congrats, Dreamer. I hope you love your big J. Since it''s not your final upgrade, it should be good. I really love my J. Despite the way it looks in certain lights, it is a beautiful stone. I will miss it when I upgrade in a few years.

I am willing to live with a slight tint in some lighting to get the size that I want for the price we wanted to pay! Sometimes you have to accept the small flaws I guess
2.gif
If your diamond was your ideal size would the tint bother you as much? I asked myself that question and knew the answer was "no". For now anyways!

I am from another country so BGD arranges for me to send it via FedEx using their own insurance provider. WF di the same thing. If you are in the US they recommend registered USPS. But if you were worried about that I am sure they could help you out!

I like the thinner shank better- the one with the solid cathedral.

If you like six prong solitaires: I have a cheapo setting that I really like that''s one of my, um, non diamond travel rings, that I always thought was great bang for the buck for a pretty but really inexpensive setting. It was by AmericanSet on ebay, it''s a Tiffany repro that looks pretty darn good for the price- I think it was $130ish? Just plain 14K but the workmanship was just fine, and it has the pretty swoopy prongs. Knife edge I think, if I remember right. And they can make it to fit a lot of different size stones.
