He's trending towards better. Some days are better than others. Sat down in the low 90s and even hit 88 on Sunday. Most of the time, sitting 93-96. Still dizzy and vague feeling. Runs down quickly. Definitely starting to feel better though. I feel like half of what I have to say anymore is don't do this, no leave that alone, and no... you really shouldn't try to do that right now! He is wanting to do stuff. Doing a little more. He just wants to do more than he can and needs someone to remind him to slow down and do things that are easy to do in chunks so he doesn't overdo.

Studying is insane. I need another 2-3 weeks. I have another 3 days. I'm, hopefully, going to make it through. We'll see. I have an assignment to beg the instructor to take late then a big programming assignment to scramble through. If the other guy gets my current assignments in, I might be able to skip the last of the other assignments and just take the hit to my grade. Need to see though. Need a solid 74% to pass for graduation. Would rather it be better, but I just want to make it through at this point!
He sure did get hit hard poor fellow.
Yikes just reading about the school situation sounds stressful.
Sending extra prayers up for you over the next few days.

not sure what is up but prayers are outgoing for Greg and you

Thank you Karl. He has 2 large stones that we know of (12 and 8/9mm stones) and maybe a few more. I came here to share the time with @mrs-b as I promised the other day.

Thank you @TooPatient and @canuk-gal and @Dandi. Appreciate your good wishes very much.
@TooPatient glad your DH is doing better. Continued healing vibes being sent both your way and good luck with finals.

@Karl_K -

Greg is having a kidney stone removed - correct, @missy?

Yes he has more stones. He has a 12mm kidney stone and an 8/9mm kidney stone that we know of and they are taking additional X Rays this AM to see if they have moved and if there are additional stones.

Just this past December 24th (yay fun Christmas Eve for us lol) he had surgical removal of a few more kidney stones but these were too large to remove and they were in the kidney not the ureter. So in December during the surgery to remove some of the smaller stones he had a stent put into the ureter to prevent the larger stones from blocking the ureter and was supposed to have this procedure to break them up in March (after his TKR in January).

But then Covid happened and he has had the stent in since December (supposed to be in 3 months max) and the kidney stones are making themselves heard. But, as you well know @mrs-b what we might consider essential is not considered essential by the hospital with Covid 19 occurring so we had to patiently wait and pray the big stones wouldn't cause an infection.

So here we are. In just 2 hours we are off to the hospital and I cannot be in the same area as Greg is in unlike this past December when I was with him waiting til they took him into surgery. This time we are separated. So I am waiting in the general waiting area in the hospital while Greg will be in the surgical unit. Procedure is supposed to take an hour or two but then general anesthesia recovery about 2 or 3 additional hours so we are in for a long day.

Wishing you lots of good luck today @mrs-b and hope all goes smoothly.

Yikes, you two have had a decent share @missy! Is Greg having a PCNL, where they enter the kidney through the back?

Thanks Dandi. Not sure if they will take additional measures if they have trouble. Right now I believe he’s getting a lithotripsy but due to the general anesthesia perhaps if necessary it might become more invasive a procedure. I wish I could speak with the surgeon beforehand. This whole Covid situation makes almost every aspect of life more challenging.

I appreciate your good thoughts. ❤

Could they have you on speaker phone to talk with the surgeon before surgery?

Sending you hugs.

I’ll ask Greg if he can ask the surgeon to call me before the procedure. Thanks @TooPatient ❤️

Good. Grief.

Spent aaallllll afternoon at the ophthalmology clinic yesterday. Ultimately saw a retinal specialist. Told me I have severe oxygen depletion inmy left eye due to restricted blood flow. My vision is, at this point, normal, but I'll ultimately go blind in that eye if it's not treated. Luckily, the stent in my carotid may well fix it and, if it doesn't, there are other ways forward. Will have an ocular angiogram in August and start ANOTHER phase of Mrs-B medical care.

Aaaaand the hits just keep on coming. I frigging expect to live FOREVER after all of this! If I have something wrong with my body, by the end of this, we will have found it! Nothing's gonna come popping out at me unexpectedly! This is a good thing - I know. But it comes at a price.

Thinking of you MrsB

I am following in the thread mrs-b was kind enough to start about Greg's procedure. I am delighted that he appears to be preparing to go home (after a few more medications).

Done and went without a hitch. All being equal from this point on, I'll be discharged this afternoon. Waiting for i/v's and arterial line to be removed. A reasonably painful procedure, but necessary.

For all your prayers and warm wishes - bless you all. I appreciated it more than words can say.
