Simply sapphires is having a 70% off sale for their retirement

Hmmmmm....my cart didn't change even when I went to check out. Must be a sign that I don't *really* need anything. ;-)

It shows up for $689.70 in my cart. Do you really want it? I can buy it and sell it to you for the price and shipping if you really want it.

Show pictures when you get; also what other two things did you buy; also can we trade husbands??

Lol! Hubby is great, perfect actually. Until you walk into the house after a long day at work and the house is smoking and you end the call with mom "Hey, I'll call you back, the house is on fire" because he has been "cooking" again. God love him. :)

Update. I have paid for my 3 rings and according to the website they are still for sale. Ugh! Maybe i will get them, maybe I wont. :(

That is weird! Maybe you can call them?

That’s really weird! And it was over 300. I’m guessing? Maybe try different browser? That’s what I do when things get weird ha ha

Good call! I changed browsers and it worked! I really didn't need anything, but I got a pink sapphire and a yellow pair. Now what to do with them.... ;-)

I guess I will wait a couple days and if they don't commit to selling them to me I will let it play out and get a refund.

I called and left a message. They are closed now, If someone else got the rings before me then it's all good. I am not angry,

It should change in cart when you click checkout but it’s a minimum of $300 for the sale.
Here's the full terms:

Under $300 - no discount
$300 to 500 - 50% discount
Over $500 - 70%

I’m wondering about the labs because they are various ones and some I don’t even know. Are they all good labs? Some of the videos also look different from the photographs in terms of color like this one : . Anybody have any idea whether the pictures are more accurate or the videos?

I fully agree, the pictures are not great. They've used the same pictures for years, and I wish they had a slightly more proper photography set up. I can say I've been happy with my purchased stones, but I bought them years ago and don't have the vendor pictures anymore. I'll attach a photo here showing one of the stones I purchased from them, it's the brighter Ruby. You could call or email asking for more pictures, I think that's a very reasonable ask. I wish there were multiple videos as well.IMG_4778.png

I caved and bought a 1.14ct heated blue. With the sale the price is just so low, I couldn’t resist. It looks very sparkly (an important feature of colored gems for me) and the color is pleasing. I like the shape. I also like the size for a few projects I have in mind. Fingers crossed it’s nice!

I found a little video of what I think must be the stone I bought. It was helpful to find this as comparing the video to a couple others I was considering, I am happy with my choice. I don't think it will be anywhere near this saturated, but hopefully its pretty and a little sparkly.

Haha... was blocked from the website. At least my wallet feels safe :'D

I hope this helps.

This stone:

I have this on hold with a deposit from Simply Sapphires. I really love it from the pictures and I thought it was a really good price at about $550 because of it's inclusions. It is a transparent, 6.36 x4.93 x 3.82 and is a cushion cut and "mixed brilliant crown". It also says no indications of heat on the AGTA report. I am hoping to put this in a ring. I was hoping for a larger stone but they are all in the 1000 dollar range at least which is out of my budget. John was very helpful and friendly over the phone . I will update with pics in real life when I have it.
PS I like it because it has a strong saturated colour, is medium blue (I think!) and no window. It also has some violet which I like. :)

Finally got an accurate photo out of my phone! :D Been wearing this one for the past several days and I must’ve taken a bajilion photos of it, but at last the effort paid off.

Fingers crossed for you! There's definitely something not quite right because other purchased pieces in this thread are definitely showing to be out of stock. Hopefully they get back to you soon and everything gets cleared up.

Thanks! The Simon G sapphire ring is not listed for sale now. I’ll call tomorrow.

The discount does not work for me, any idea how…why?

Someone earlier had that problem and they tried using a different browser and somehow that worked for them. Maybe it has something to do with the cookies in your current browser.

The super cute (set high enough to wear with bands) pink and blue sapphire ring and the sleek color change maroon to purple/pink sapphire ring.

And this one.

I was set on a blue sapphire 2025 but who could resist blue/pink/maroon?

So envious that you snagged that pink and blue sapphire trilogy ring. It’s beautiful! :kiss2:

I let everything sit in my cart all day and just sort of removed things here and there. I almost grabbed a purple sapphire ring, but it just wasn’t truly my style and I’m afraid I wouldn’t wear it so I let it go. In the end, I picked up the following.

Australian Boulder opal 5.82ct
It’s not top quality but I love the mix of greens and blues.
I’m thinking about a pendant with a bright green halo so I can really make those greens pop!

1.55 Sri Lanka blue cushion cut sapphire.
A little light, but one of my favorite shapes and a good price so it was hard to resist.

Could not resist!
Sri Lanka 4.5mm (.90tcw) blue sapphire pair.

And these lovely floral style earrings. You all know I have a thing for spinels. :D
Bright red spinels in platinum. I don’t wear post style earrings, but I’m going to send them to David Klass and see if he can modify them into small dangle / drop earrings for me.

Love the lighter blue sapphire @elle_71125! Reminds me of Bulbasaur!

I love the lighter color of Balbasaur so that’s promising indeed! :kiss2:
I think lighter blues can feel so romantic and feminine. That’s not to say I wouldn’t take a big ol’ royal blue if the mood strikes (and if my bling budget would be kind enough to support such a thing ).

Watching you all slowly but surely buy all the things I was browsing is giving me a feeling, so I've been working hard to remind myself that I did not, in fact, want these pieces that badly, and just because someone else has them, that doesn't mean a thing, and that green eyed monster should really go back in its box. In an attempt to secure the process I've been playing with my stuff and

this is exactly how I felt staring at the blues I already have while mentally repeating "you have so many, you don't need any more".

Lighter blues are gentle and kind. A strong saturated blue is assertive, stands out, screams "look at me", but a lighter blue is special in a way the saturated blue can't quite achieve.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Thank you so much! I called and talked to John this morning. He was so lovely! I was surprised that he immediately knew my order by name. He assured me that the 3 rings were mine and he had sent me an invoice for re-sizing. He was charging me the price of 2 and not charging me for the 3rd.

John told me he was surprised and filled with gratitude when he saw all the orders. I told him about @Indylady's post. That made him happy. He talked about his career and how the community of colored gem lovers have been some of the nicest, most trusting people he has encountered.

He shared that when he first started out he received 20k of Sri Lanka sapphires, sent uninsured in a brown envelope, with the supplier asking him to "sell what you can". He was moved by the trust the supplier had in him. He said he appreciated that and all the trust people have put in him through the years which is why he decided on the 70% off sale. It is his way of giving back as he sells off his inventory.
