It’s been in my cart for 2 months! I pulled the trigger since I was afraid I’d lose it now that it was posted here.
I will post pics once it arrives, but the vendor is in Canada, so it’s a bit slow.

Oooooooooh what will you do with it!? I felt the same way but decided to share it, if I wanted to buy I would have already.

Can't wait to see the finished product!! I've found many sleepy sapphires here, and some really cool galaxy-looking ones too.

@CBianco has the most incredible galaxy sapphire I've ever seen! Perhaps she'll post it here for you to see.

The 2 I have right now are my blue sapphire and lavender spinel. I can’t figure out how to set the spinel and so it sits in a box

I miss the black patina the sapphire ring used to have but it came off very quickly

Sorry, work was a bear yesterday and I hope to catch up on comments this morning.

What a beautiful blue stone! I love the bit of glowly silk.

Gosh I love that stone so much... I wasn't exaggerating, right?! She has quite the collection. :) Now we need to get ourselves one!!

I'm learning so much, because I have never heard of one before, but it makes perfect sense! @CBianco it is beautiful

This is an interesting sleepy pink Tanzanian spinel. It still sparkles a lot but isn’t clear and see-through like others so I think it looks more saturated or maybe it just is more saturated but it glows more. It’s a very girly pink.

My three silky stones: sunset spinel, blush-colored sapphire, and a really interesting grey sapphire that also has a mix of multiple colors (mainly orange, yellow and green).

Love this thread and all of your besties! Silkies are my FAVORITES, but oh man they're hard to photograph! Maybe it's just because we're having a rare cloudy day here in the desert... Here are mine:

A silky paraiba tourmaline and loliondo spess with the characteristic sugar inclusions (not sure if she counts, but I consider her a bit silky):

A lavender unicorn spinel and a candy pink spinel (from the same vendor who sold OP's dream sapphire), and a medium blue sapphire that's a bit more sleepy/silky in person:

More of the lavender who refuses to show all of her colors today!

And the most frustrating specimen of the day, a little lavender umba sapphire. In real life, she has gold flecks, silver stripes, and a FREAKING RAINBOW RUTILE inclusion!!! Here, she looks silver lavender:

@ShinyPleeease i am soooo glad to see that gray sapphire! I was this close to pulling the trigger but was nervous how it would look in real life. It's so cool and definitely one of a kind. If anyone has leads on something similar, please point me in the right direction! And more pics, please!

Thanks @pokerface! I just happened to be browsing Insta when this sapphire was posted and snatched it since it’s so unusual. The seller posts a lot of opalescent sapphires though so I’m sure another one will come along! Here are a few more pics
