I really love the bright green sprinkles!
Wish I knew more about Jade so I could be brave enough to buy an investment piece. No matter how much I look at pictures and videos and read up I still can’t grasp the nuances between a $500 bangle and a $5,000 bangle.
Heck, even those $50 eBay bangles look lovely to my eye.
My two were under $200 each, better buy a bangle worth $20 752818BE-FD5B-4222-907F-88B07D16ABCA.jpeg 6EC17930-A352-46F8-B672-6BBF817D7F67.jpeg for $200 than a $50 bangle for $5,000 ha ha.

Love the inlaid peridot!

Wow! Thanks for the insight @voce! That is impressive with the difference of 8mm! It definitely opens up a world of bangles under 60mm. You're right about the temperature, it's a cooler day today in TX and so I ran my left hand under cold water, soaped it up and managed to barely fit the 63mm. Ta-da!

My knuckles may or may not like me right now.

@mellowyellowgirl here's the lavender that I squeezed into.

Gorgeous!

I like the water for these bangles. Too small for me as usual

I love it

Here's my $50-60 bangle. Coarse to medium grain with a spot of seaweed. IRL it's exactly wakame color, not bluish. PXL_20210708_204216245.jpg
I got some cloisonne bracelets and decided to pair one with a bluish lavender bangle. PXL_20210708_204228236.jpg PXL_20210707_034428115.jpg
Look at all these bangles I've accumulated in the span of a few months. They're setting back my gemstone ring projects for sure...
I've purchased a few more to gift, and the last two slots are for an icy mixed color with some imperial green and an "icy lavender" that I have yet to receive. So keeping my fingers crossed...
Great bangle box!

Helped Lil Sis buy this bangle.

This is not my jam at all but it's not a bad purchase. Just something I would never wear as it's too blueish and leans grey at times.

She wanted the water though! It's got excellent water.

So weird helping people buy things you don't like yourself!!!

I love it

For those of you who like luscious blues

I don't! Pretty proud of myself for being able to buy something I don't really like!

IMG-20210904-WA0010.jpg IMG-20210904-WA0013.jpg
I’d like one like this

Thank you!! I have so much to learn!

I love the colour! But I’m not sure I love the texture?

More even texture but a bit more colour variance?

I seem to be gravitating toward “light” and “mostly single colour”. But I wonder if that’ll shift - maybe next week I’ll have totally different preferences lol!!

Yours is so pretty. It looks like a forest on the wrist
That “black”/dark streak thumb-side in your last pic - funny story, I’ve got a nephrite cuff in the works with Leon Mege (really long story there, the jade part just sort of happened) and I really wanted one white streak basically just like that! Unfortunately the material didn’t cooperate so we settled for a few white twigs instead of one thick branch
Can’t wait to see what you find

Someone who likes blue princess bangles and can wear a 54 pls get this and put me out of my misery:

How can I learn the price? It’s stunning! I did “Etsy translate” and it didn’t tell me.

Today is jade bangle day so here is my new blue. It was described as 明亮。No idea what that means but it is pretty and a good budget piece.

I really should not be buying. I am setting so many things. I think blue needs lots of diamonds to go with it:bigsmile:. It has this beautiful glow in the sun.

Gorgeous!

I think I like the princess cut best!!!

Wow!!!

Sorry, still learning how to do this- if I quoted your post it’s because I loved it. This has been such a great read, all these pages about jade! I’m excited to get a bangle of my own.

This green bangle belonged to my grandmother, maybe it’s nephrite, maybe it’s glass? No idea. It is huge on me.

I’ve been trying so hard to measure my bangle size. Seems like I’m a 60mm but I wonder if I’m measuring wrong- that seems big for my 6” wrist and 4.75 ring size. So I bought this purple green bangle that’s 59mm for cheap, will try it out.

@diamondyes do you have a digital caliper? You can buy a cheap one from eBay and measure your existing bangles and hand width etc. Sounds like 60mm will be way to big for you.

Ok so I just tried this trick that was in a video that some lovely PSEr posted. Seems like I might actually be size 54-55. Cut a hole in a yogurt lid and measure thr diameter! 08F6698E-0DD3-4405-B689-C859FBC42C99.jpeg

You need to be able to squeeze your hand through the hole in the lid. Can you? No one I know can wear bangles their actual wrist sizes as it’s physically impossible to squeeze their hands through to wear.

Yes my initial measurements were no good, I think 55 is more likely. I have digital calliper a but need to buy a new battery for them. Thank you!

This is a picture of me wearing the yogurt lid. My cut hole is not perfect but seems to be around 55mm. It’s a start! Thanks Icy! 9F8E1A21-4A3C-4A11-9F48-EC191C14C541.jpeg

Ok! I’m hoping to find a decent bangle for $300 or less, I expect something that nice would cost more but maybe I’ll ask them.

This was gifted to me almost 20 years ago. It is pretty (a bit lighter than these photos show) but I am not a bangle person and rarely wear it. I have no idea of its quality either.

I made a baby step forward and found out my left hand size is actually.......50mm! I bought a 50mm agate bangle, 52mm white jade (not sure what it really is) from Etsy to try out the sizes, both are very inexpensive around $10.

From left to right are 50mm D, 52mm round, 54mm round:
IMG_2537.JPG

See how tiny the 50mm one is in my palm:
IMG_2536.JPG

and this is how it sits around the wrist. It is not too hard, just need some lotion.

Hello! I’m new to this forum, and learning a lot about jadeite. I’ve collected a lot of jadeite bangles from skinny, round, D-cut… all terms I’ve learned from all those facebook lives. I started purchasing from ebay, then etsy, to fb lives. I had a lot of frustrations and some good/great purchases. Recently, I have been leaning more on carved bangles. There’s this bangle that I really like, perfect size and width for me. However, it’s full of glowing green.
What do you think are those? Wax? I have other bangles with something like this, but generally glows green on lines or cracks. 07C588DE-367C-4BDF-B090-A999495F1252.jpeg

Hey welcome! Also yes if the UV's been glowing on areas with cracks/crevices, that usually means there's wax buildup in the area in which you could just take a toothpick and scrape some of it off if possible.

I thoroughly cleaned/brushed it, and it worked! Thank you!

I don't wear 4 at a time, but I am playing with bangles this afternoon, looking at certs and deciding which ones to sell. I'm in a weird "less is more" headspace. The grey bangle towards my hand is my favorite. It is a cheaper one but has icier qualities and textures I just love. The first flower bangle my husband bought me. The two middle ones I bought in my Pokémon collecting phase. I'd like to have a talk with old me and smack her hand away from the computer :).

4 today.jpg

By the way, has jade gone up in the last couple of years? I went back to where I bought these middle two at GoJade on ebay and the prices seem higher.

@Daisys and Diamonds I've enjoyed reading this thread and see you're interested in finding a bangle in larger sizes, or maybe figuring out a size. I don't know if you still have my email - Loupetroop is down and your contact info was on there. I had a computer crash and lost many of my stored emails, yours was in it.

Anyway, if you still have mine, can you holler?

A more translucent bangle came today, purchased from Burmesedaze. It looks like the new grey flower in the previous photo, except finer and more translucent. Wetter look. IMG-2081.jpg
IMG-2078.jpg IMG-2086.JPG
A big texture difference with the other flower grey. Texture is finer, look at reflections to see a water effect, I think..

Hi, newbie here. I love all your collections! Just into jade this year, since I’m starting to see the beauty of it.

This is mine in marble jade. My aunt told me (she’s a chinese so she can be considered to be very familiar with this kind of thing) that this kind of motive is for much much older lady — in her opinion (I’m in mid 30s) but I love it, though sometimes her comment makes me wonder whether the bangle is not suitable for me
DAA2A2B1-7931-4C92-B9D4-F9BCC41134AD.jpeg

I also have another one that I purchased from ultimate jadeite (combination of white and a little bit of green). Not as high quality as the marble one but I love the vintage round style. Both jadeite type A.

Would like to hear your thoughts if any :)

Welcome to PS!

It is true that jade bangles are typically associated with older ladies. But I also started wearing jadeite bangles in my 30s as they inexplicably makes me feel better (jade is associated with protection in the chinese culture) and I figured that ultimately I wear and enjoy jewelry for myself and not what others think.

Now in my 40’s and I’m almost always in a jade bangle nowadays. Personally I only like the round bangles, not the D shaped ones and I find rounds more comfy to wear.

Here is mine today:

I have to agree with you that the rounds are more comfortable. I wear the D shapes when I want a specific color but I've almost always got a round on these days for everyday wear.

Sellers always tell me that Ds are supposedly more comfy to wear? Is that just pure marketing bs?

It is much much harder to find rounds for sure. Like for every 10-20 Ds, then I find one round my size. But maybe that is lucky too else I would be so broke lol.

No one has told me that so I have no idea. But when I wear a D, I often see a mark of the bangle being imprinted on my arm depending on how I sleep. Definitely not more comfy!

Never happens with a round!
