I am so torn right now. I had been so focused on the 4 c's, that I completely neglected to fully research different types of inclusions. Turns out, the diamond my girlfriend picked out has one of the worst...a cavity. This 1.90 G SI2 diamond is eye clean. I am purchasing this in a platinum halo setting all together for $13,000.00 The problem is that there is what appears to be a semi large cavity on the top left edge. I could not notice anything in person, but this blue nile video is giving me nightmares. I will also post the GIA map. Will the cavity fill up with dirt in 10 years? Would you decline this diamond? Is this a deal breaker?
Previously, I had been offered a 1.96 H SI2 with less inclusions and a cleaner map. I am not sure if that is the route I should be taking. I could also be overanalyzing everything in my head, and this is something I won't care about in a year.
