If retail for similar stones on JA is in the $8000 range, you will probably not get offers to sell it for more than $4-5. A recut would make it more appealing to buyers here, because no one is going to recommend a 1.5 ct stone with a 7mm diameter. It would be better to have a 1.3 ct stone at 7 mm that was excellent cut as far as resale goes here. I just don't think you'll get anywhere near $8k either way. So your decision is basically to keep it and use it like it is or recut to make it more beautiful for yourself, or you can try to sell it at a significant loss. You could add side stones if you want more finger coverage. If it were mine, I would recut and use it for something (pendant, right hand ring) rather than lose half my money. Then I'd save for a new ring and maybe over time you'll have a more clear idea of what you want.

Hi luvsdum, thank you for the update! I understand needing to take a break from diamonds, it can get overwhelming sometimes. Congrats on your OEC band, I'll bet it's beautiful and I'm glad you're enjoying all your bands. Good idea to take your time finding another diamond, there's really no rush lol. Don't beat yourself up over past diamond decisions, you did what you thought was best at the time and there are other diamonds out there. It's great hearing from you, hope all is well!
