haha Really? That's funny :D

And I thought everyone got ripped off with terrible, bottom-grade stones online ;-)

Now, what I didn't tell them was I had access to my secret, super effective, guaranteed diamond winner selector tool... PSers! ;)2:P2

Many jewelers and I might even be willing to go as far to say most have not seen a well cut asscher even if they have 30 years experience.

When it comes to asschers some of them just have "IT" it is impossible to define but you know "IT" when you see it.

I hadn't thought of it that way, but I am really beginning to understand now how unusual it was to find a stone like this. It makes me appreciate it that much more. :kiss2:

Hi everyone! I know it’s been quite some time since I gave an update on this asscher project... business travel, some challenges with french cuts having to be recut and general life got in the way. The good news is the ring is done! I received some glamour pics from DK today. Funny thing is, I’ve been waiting on two ring projects for what felt like forever, and they both were finished up this week. lol

I asked about a minor change, but would love to hear what you all think of it as it stands now. My inspiration photos showed fine milgrain all around the edges of the shank and the ring currently doesn’t have it. Should I have it added or leave it as is?

Sweeet - this ring is classy and beautiful and gorgeous - for me, re: milgrain, I'd keep it as is.

Thank you both! I think you’re right... less is more. Besides, my impatience is getting the better of me and want the ring - now. lol

DK has always been very accommodating, so I’m sure if I get it and decide otherwise, he’ll add the milgrain.

That looks awesome, congratulations! :)

+1 to leaving the milgrain off the shank - it would likely only get damaged over time through general wear and tear, so plain does at least mean it can gain 'patina' and round off slowly as it (and you! lol) ages :)

I love it as is!! Most of the shank will be hidden by your fingers, so, the millgrain that shows is enough to give you the look you're looking for! It's absolutely beautiful!!!

You’ve all confirmed my decision to let DK know to ignore my query about the milgrain. I appreciate it!

Now I’m trying to figure out how I can possibly rearrange my schedule so I can run downtown and pick it up today.

So I managed to get over to DKs shop and pick up the ring. I think it turned out quite well, but the asscher is definitely the star. Gah, I love this stone! :kiss2:

Only had a chance to take a few photos in the car and when I got home... please excuse the swollen hands - it was unreasonably hot today and all that running around didn’t help. :confused2:

I forgot to mention it! Apparently, he was too responsive to my initial email. When I got there it was already done and it actually looks quite nice. I'd love it either way.

I love it!!! Perfection!!!

It’s so beautiful! I am glad he added there millgrain on the shank. I preferred that but saw that you decided against it. And then he added it. Very responsive of him. Congratulations on a stunning ring, so perfect for you gorgeous asscher.

Appreciate the kind words, @LLJsmom, thank you! After wearing it for a few days, I am also glad DK went ahead with it. It adds just a bit of texture and looks more finished, imho.

I’m not getting much done this weekend though... my eyes keep gazing upon it and then, mysteriously, an hour or so passes before I realize it.
