I went from an F MRB to a K OEC. Here is a thread about my journey.

Here is the OEC I have now.

I do not regret it. I love the faceting of OECs and my eyes definitely prefer that to an MRB. But I do still really appreciate a superbly cut MRB. I had always wanted a stone that was super bright and sparkly 100% of the time in EVERY environment. As unreasonable as that sounds I wish I had a diamond that came with its own backlighting. :lol-2: but that hasn't happened yet. I will say that I love my OEC about 75% of the time whereas I loved my MRB 40% of the time. That is the best way I can quantify it.

...AND back to square one for me. One day I was leaning towards an antique cushion, but the OECs are also blowing me away. You literally just made this harder for me. :P2
I was checking out an old mine cut, which is not exactly the type of old antique cuts that people like Victor Canera or Good old gold are imitating, to my eye. What I see is a bunch of sparkly facets everywhere except in the centre. Am I wrong or is it just how an old mine looks in the photos?

So right now my choices are a super pretty J transitional, a K old mine brilliant (maybe- it looks a little wonky to me sometimes but other times, very pretty) Do transitionals perform the same way an OEC does?

decisions, decisions...
