Crown Princess Mary wore some lovely gold and pearls at the Creative Summit.
I really like the gold monkey's fist bracelet.

Guess who's back, back again... in her beloved Scotland! Yes, it's Elizabeth II, who's visiting Scotland for Holyrood Week.
After the traditional Ceremony of the Keys, Her Majesty met local volunteers and key-workers to thank them for their efforts during the pandemic. For both occasions she proudly wore the jewelled badge of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Then, HM headed to the AG Barr factory in Cumbernauld. She changed brocches into one of her work horses - the Pearl trifoil brooch.

The Queen, joined by The Princess Royal, visited the Children's Wood Project. HM wore the mighty Albert brooch, while HRH opted for a gold brooch and matching necklace:

HM looks so happy to be in Scotland

I wonder how many times that brooch has been to Scotland since Prince Albert gave it to Victoria ?

Wow!
Wilma Flintstone!
Also who is this lady please?

HSH the Dowager Princess of Thurn & Taxis, aka Gloria TNT because of her explosive hairdos and general style in the late 80s and early 90s.
She married a much older man, who sadly passed away and left a lot of debt. Gloria, the mother of 3 toddlers, turned to religion and education and saved the family fortune (and 16 castles) at the cost of a vast chunk of family gems. Their son, the current Prince, is still one of the most eligible bachelors in Europe. 61620cf1153be3ff5ce8ca8a0c73b044.jpg

Do you remember State Visits? Do you remember that they often included tiaras and other jewellery galore? Well, guess what - they are back!

Our friend Maxima, aka the Queen of the Netherlands, dazzled in Berlin tonight. She brought out the Stuart tiara (but not the Stuart diamond), Queen Wilhelmina's diamond riviere, and bracelets from the East Indies. The diamonds in the earrings can also be set in the large version of the tiara.

For those that want to see the diamonds and the Jan Taminiau dress in action, there are some great close ups here

Day Two of the State Visit brought us more jewels. For the daytime engagements Queen Maxima wore lovely pearl earrings. They are really versatile and can be worn in a variety of fashions to suit different events. Even better, the pearls can be swapped for different colours. This is the most elaborate version.

In the evening, Their Majesties and their hosts enjoyed a concert at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Maxima opted for a different colour scheme and donned Queen Juliana's aquamarines.
She even sneaked the Art Deco brooch and pinned it on her waist. Note the calibre-cut sapphires on the sides!

PS: The Dutch are notorious gardeners and the flower decorations during state visits are as beautiful as the jewels. Sometimes even more!

Does anyone have any photos of the Danish Crown Princely family at the soccer in England with Prince William?
Unfortunately no Kate as she is self isolating

Sophie Countess of Wessex (necklass) and Princess Alexandra (brooch) had a day out together on offical duty

Very dignified ladies

I think this is one of Princess Alexandra's favourite patronages - Guide Dogs for the Blind and she handed it over to the Countess of Wessex during the visit yesterday.
In some of the photos the Princess is very emotional and understandably, since she had been their patron for well over decades.

Back to the jewels - Princess Alexandra won the day for me in her effortless elegance:

Great to see some close ups !
Princess Alexandra seems so lovelly (love those earings)

I bet they loved having her as patron and who better than Sophie to carry it on

I hope Charlie sees and continues to make use of the value of his brother and sister in law

It's always nice to see (royal) sister sharing jewellery!

In this particular case Princess Marian, Duchess of Kent borrowed a pair of gray pearl and diamond earrings from her sister Olga for an event in the early 1960's.

The earrings, along a selection of other jewels, were auctioned by Princess Olga's descendants in 2007. They were described as
A PAIR OF BLACK PEARL AND DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS, BY CARTIER
Remounted in the 1950's using Romanov pearls and diamonds

The rubies are divine! I've seen a very good close up and the setting is very delicate. Most likely early 20th c.

I've also found a close up of the brooch from an earlier engagement:

Elizabeth II made a surprising brooch choice this weekend. HM donned the Vanguard Rose Brooch to present the Windsor Horse Cup.
The brooch entered her collection in 1944 when she launched HMS Vanguard and notably wore it 8 years later on her way back from Kenya after the death of her father George VI.

Princess Marina wearing her impressive Romanov pearl pendant at the wedding of her nephew Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia to Princess Maria Pia di Savoia in 1955

Wow!
I wonder who has those pearls now ?
i hope Alexandra. Princess Marina wasn't very nice not leaving her daughter a tiara - seeing it as the husband's esponsibility to provide tiaras
