It's a pretty tiara and very sparkly in real life, also much larger than photos suggest. I had the pleasure of seeing it at the Cartier exhibition this May.
I'm not keen on it returning to the King (whoever that might be when the Princess is gone). It it part of Princess Anne's children's ancestry and legacy, so they have as much right to keep it, even if they have to sell it later on. In the end, the main line already has two other tiaras and fewer and fewer occasions to wear them.

i think that well George v and the Queen mum are Peter and Zara's great grandparents also, i just dont want to see it go to the auction block and be lost for ever in the next generation and we will never see it again
sadly right about less tiara occasions but even less if you dont have a title
we need more tiara occasions but when young woman arnt even wearing necklaces much any more we need a big jewellery mind shift
