State Visit Alert!

The Emir of Qatar and Sheikha Al-Mayassa (his sister) are on e two-day State Visit to Spain, where they were greeted by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.

Queen Letizia wore her BVLGARI aquamarine drops earrings


Sheikha Al-Mayassa choose earrings with pink and white diamonds, a statement ring and pearl necklace. But also note her pearl belt!



I'm looking forward to tonight's State Banquet, where we should see serious glitter from both ladies!

Not that much glitter tonight at the Banquet in Madrid, but a new pair of chandelier earrings for Letizia.

Interestingly, the 2011 Qatari banquet was also white tie for the gents and no tiaras and sashes for the ladies.

And Sheikha Al-Mayassa's glittering diamonds from last night. The bracelet might make a lovely small tiara. Not convinced by the zipper or the leather jacket, though.

There are loads of them with simulants on the market for the wedding industry!

I may get one to try and see if it looks good on me as they are inexpensive.

But if we wear them true bandau style low on the forehead it wont scream wedding .....it will be vintage and ....not weddingly ?

And we're back to Stockholm, where the King and Queen hosted a State Banquet for their Finish guests last night.

The Queen wore the Edwardian (literally, it was a present from Edward VI, after whom the epoch is named) ruby tiara and the large floral earrings from Victoria or Baden. The Tiara, a wedding present to Crown Princess Margareta, comes with a ruby and diamond back chain, which Queen Silvia used as bracelet last night.


The Crown Princess wore the large Cut-steel tiara with pieces from the cameo parure. All her jewels are Napoleonic.


Princess Sofia wore her wedding tiara in the pearl setting with modern pearl drop earrings and a new pearl and diamond (?) necklace. The necklace, although pretty, has a costume look to me.

Sofia could have more CS toppers made for her wedding tiara, to supplement the Emeralds and pearls that I have seen.

Her necklace does not do much for me; the pearl brooch, yes!

it looks good, but do you have any suggestions of a good ring for a baby gift? my neighbor finally had a baby after joining the surrogacy agency program and i don't have one for him yet
