Do you remember the round aqua from Barry's April drop? The one he called the deepest colored aqua he had ever cut? Well, here are some pictures for you to enjoy. 4.18ct, 10mm, so it literally is humongous. And round cut is not common for aqua. As always, superb cutting by Barry.

Frankly, although it is indeed very deep color for an aqua, I still felt it is light colored and that could totally be my unrealistic expectation for an aqua. As can be seen in many pictures, the edge of the round tends to be quite light and the color is the deepest in the center. I told Barry that I want to return it, but boy, that's a very tough decision. It is SOOOO pretty and brilliant!

Tell me what do you think, okay?

First of all, vendor picture. As all Barry pictures,it is very accurate.

You will never guess where I took this picture - and the silver color background adds gray to the aqua

no flash, daylight. This is very true to IRL. Is the blue light, or am I being unrealistic?

Then I picked it up with a 4-prong tweezer. The color darkens a little

I think it's pretty for an aqua, and that's coming from someone that doesn't get excited about aqua. It doesn't seem to have an over abundance of grey in it like 99% of the aquas I see with any color in them. What do you think about the grey, is there a lot from your vantage point?

Once you set it, the color will also deepen. Aqua is one of those stones that looks a million times better when set into something, preferably white gold or platinum.

There is a trace amount of grey, but hardly detectable.

Then I would keep it. Aqua is so hard to find without a ton of grey. T&Co for comparison purposes.

That one looks pretty impressive for an aqua! A very nice, deep color, no unwanted overtones, quite a nice size and a precise cut. I''d say keep it and find it a proper home (I''d go custom for this one).
