Ring Settings that enhances diamond size

Is there any settings that can help enhance the diamond and bring out its size (just plain solitaire round diamond without halo)

What considerations to make when designing a setting and does number of prongs (4,5,6prongs) and its orientation affect the look of the diamond

I think bezels really enhance the size of a diamond. For example, my OEC (in the hexagon setting) is only 0.98ct and 6.0mm but it looks way bigger than my round brilliant that is 1.22ct and 6.9mm!!

Yes on the bezel as it acts similar to an illusion setting. I am not sure on a 4 prong solitaire vs a 6 prong. Sometimes a 4 prong can make a round look a little cushion-y, which I like.

There’s nothing that will make a stone look larger than a halo... and to that point the bezel acts in a similar fashion, especially a bezel style such as CheeSauce has.

I agree that halo and bezel settings will make the biggest difference.

However, if you want to stick with a solitaire setting a jeweller once told me 6 prongs will look larger than 4 prongs, and after looking at different settings I agree. I also think setting the stone in a high setting will give it the illusion of looking larger than if it were in a low setting (because it is sitting slightly closer to your eyes than your finger).

I also think keeping a solitaire really clean makes it look larger, because the diamond is more “sparkly” and throws off more light.

True, but on the other hand a higher setting will get hit much easier on your car door, etc..

Having an excellent cut diamond will make it look larger even in a simple setting so please bear that in mind, and if you're not yet in ownership of the solitaire please do lots of reading here before you buy.

I was thinking there are some swoopy/petal type settings that will help a central diamond look larger...for example:

It's not a halo, it's a beautiful solitaire, but there's just a bit of an illusion there because of the prongs. This is probably my favourite solitaire setting.
