My five stone seen here was not quite right for me. After some careful consideration I decided to have it remade into a three stone.

The stones:
Center Stone: BGD Blue 1.71 7.69x7.72 mm H/SI 1
Ruby Side Stones: Africa Gems 6mm each 2.11 tcw

My local jeweler made me a simple three stone setting in platinum with low four prong baskets. I am very happy with the final product. I think it has the perfect amount of finger coverage without being too much.

***Not the best photo ever, but I was pretty excited when I picked it up!***

You know, I just looked through the other thread when you got the ring made into a five-stone, and I have to say, I think this three-stone suits your finger much better. It seems to be just the right width and for that reason, I think the rubies show up better. The five-stone was pretty of course, but this one looks wonderful - like it was made to be on your finger. Gorgeous!

I like the diamond arrow ring, too! What's its story?

OMG! I love the new ring even more!!!!!

It looks very beautiful on your hand! I too think I like the three stone rendition better than the five.

Yep, add me to the list. I LOVE it with three stones  and was not in love with it with 5 stones. I think these three stones are the perfect size! Did I tell you I was thinking of making a three stone just like that except my center stone will be 7.6mm? When did you get your side stones? I have also been looking at ruby pairs from AG and other places.

Cokitty, I liked your 5 stone version as well but this one looks perfect on your hand. Very pretty!

Cokitty, I love, love, love this ring!!! It is really beautiful; the color of those rubies.... The finger coverage is perfect!!!!

I loved your 5 stone as well, but the 3 stone seems to be made for your hand. What a beautiful piece. It gives room for the diamond and rubies to shine.

I also loved the 5 stone, but I agree with the others: this is much more at home on your hand, looks cleaner & is just perfect. Good decision!

Thank you Jambalaya. The arrow ring is the Enigma ring by Bvlgari. I have had the ring for years now, it is a very simple ring, but for some reason I just love it and it gets more wear than many other rings.

Thank you MGR. In the end five stones was too much, but three seems balanced. My ring is a like a little sister to yours!

Thank you Diamondseeker2006. I am much happier with the three stone than I was with the five stone. I didn't know you were going to do a three stone. I did buy my sides stones from Marc Sarosi with Africa Gems. He is a great guy to work with very responsive and friendly.

Yes, Alex T, you hit the nail on the head. A cleaner ring as you put is just more my style.

Thank you Acinom, glad to hear I made the right decision to remake the ring into a three stone.

cokitty -- I agree with others that weren't quite in love with the 5 stone version (I felt like the two outer diamonds kind of got lost on the sides...) but I absolutely LOVE your new 3 stone!!  It's truly perfection! I love the proportions & it looks gorgeous on your hand! Enjoy! :appl:

Cokitty, this is a gorgeous, gorgeous 3 stone!!   The 5 stone was amazing too, but I agree that this 3 stone version is really perfect on your hands and it's simple elegance really showcases the 2 rubies and the stunning center stone. For a split second I got confused with your 5 stone with 3 rubies and 2 diamonds which I am eternally in love with!! :appl:

man do I love that ring!

Thank you JDDN! I know I went on a bit of a ruby and diamond rampage. I tend to let things stew while I work them out and do things in quick bursts. I think the petite five stone is perfect for a daily right hand ring and the three stone for those days when you want a little extra sparkle in your day.

Staci, the final two diamonds really did get lost didn't they? Poor things. They have found a new home in a pair of bezel set studs for my baby sister.
I will keep enjoying the three stone version.

Perfect! The proportions are spot on! The ring looks absolutely stunning on you! As others have said, I liked it as a 5 stone, but love it as a 3 stone! Enjoy! :wavey:

Yay! I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying your ring & that the 2 extra diamonds found a new home & are being enjoyed by your sister. :appl: It seems like this remake really worked out for the best all around. :))

Yes she is enjoying her little studs. Sometimes rethinking a project is the best thing.
