So I have finally taken the plunge and reserved a diamond from Brian Gavin Blue collection. I had narrowed my decision down to two stones the other a BGD H&A 2.14 H SI. The price difference only $925 which doesn't affect budget at all and the blue being the more expensive. I think because I am unable to sight the diamond I am just looking for opinions from people who have had the pleasure of viewing or owning any of the above stones. The only thing in my mind is that I would love to be assured of from an outsiders opinion is, will the BGD Blue, sparkle and be as white and bright as the BGD H&A stone, particularly because I am paying a little more. I know its not a lot but I have continually read that you can get more bang for your buck so to speak with the BGD Blue. I know the blue offers something a little bit different which is probably why I have reserved that one, however I don't not want to compromise on sparkle, fire and white beauty. I know you will all tell me not to worry because there Brian's stones but just wanting to hear opinions from you guys, because its easy to change it now. I live in Australia and when it gets here its going to stay so I just want to be completely certain. Thanks :D

It will be set in a novella platinum setting.

They're both perfection - it's a coin toss.

I have a D color w/ SBF and it is the coolest effect when it kicks in in the sun (or blacklight), and I was hesitant as well at first before I got it, but boy am I glad I did. I wouldn't ever trade it in - I love it!

The stone you are considering is only medium blue anyway - there's nothing to worry about. :)

Here, read this: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/likelihood-of-finding-a-signature-super-ideal-diamond.174235/ pay special attention to atp223's post. The Blue Line is exceptional.

You are not sacrificing ANYTHING. And as ecf pointed out, the stone is medium blue, so you probably won't even notice much in strong sunlight. Just under a black light.

It's really up to you. If you aren't comfortable with the Blue Line Stone and then it is worth peace of mind to go with the other. But that's really the only reason, that and the price difference.

But otherwise, BLUE LINE BABY!

Oh thank you both so very much!!! It has made my decision Im keeping the blue baby!!! I just got a little nervous not been able to personally view the stone but reading this has completely put me at ease and I feel 100% confident, comfortable and happy with my choice. Now I just have to wait until Monday when all my ring choices will be confirmed with Katie and its all go from there.
Just wanted to thank you again Gypsy for recommending that I go with BGD platinum setting, I know it will be sooo much more beautiful than what I could get made here, plus I kind of don't want anybody playing with my stone hahaha. So excited it will probably take up to 6 weeks or so to get here, but when it does I will be sure to add pics. I suppose I will need to get used to wearing a ring, I have been with my partner for 20 years in November and although we still don't have any intentions on getting married I always wanted the ring....so I definitely think this will be well and truly worth the wait. :D :D :D

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

Definitely worth the wait!

You are so welcome! The best thanks to us is always posting pictures of complete rings... so when BGD sends you glamour shots, just come back and post them for us and we'll be tickled pink right along with you!

We just love it when people are thrilled with their purchases. And I know you will be.

Thanks gypsy I promise I will. I will actually come back and review my whole experience with them aswell. After all if I couldn't read about individuals experiences I would definitely never be comfortable enough to buy online. :)

I have a BGB with Med Blue fluor and it's a beautiful stone. I can see the fluor effects in sun and also a hint of it under fluorescent lighting since those also emit some UV.

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

My mom's BG blue is also 2.1 H VS2 with med blue fluor, and it is white and gorgeous to my humble peepers. That's definitely a sweet spot of color, clarity and fluor!

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

That is absolutely stunning Mayk!!!! I look forward to seeing some hand shots in the near future :appl: I thank you all for sharing I really just cant wait. Now Im just deliberating about which setting Im going to go with, BGD Fishtail w Novela head or Novela, decisions, decisions, gee I wish I could just take a day trip to the US hahaha

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

Oh man, I'd take the Blue.

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

Glad you chose the Blue! Not only do I prefer the fluoro, I definitely prefer the VS2 especially when the stone can't be viewed before setting.

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

I have no comment on which diamond is better but you should check bgd's trade-in policy if you think you will upgrade later.

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

Yes I am actually glad I did chose the Blue... I was actually attracted to the stones by a couple of clips I sore on you tube and yes I did feel more comfortable with the VS2 for that reason of not been able to personally view it. I think the blue stones are still under the upgrade policy but in honesty Im not to concerned with that if for some reason Im just not happy with it even in the slightest I will return and swap it within the 14 days and I did discuss and confirm that this could be done. I am actually going to start a new thread about opinions of settings. Yup stuck on that now haha It never ends

Thanks! It's a 3.6ct BGD I VS-1 Signature H & A diamond. My size is around a 6. Here's another angle:

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

That is just so gorgeous...never thought I would consider upgrading in the future but maybe I will :Up_to_something: I cant believe that's an I colour OMG that man is brilliant!!! I love your setting to, definitely getting 6 prong but I am stuck on weather or not to have plain band or just a little bit of something such as the BG Fishtale pave. The only reason Im a little hessidant on the plain band is because I wont always wear an eternity ring and I like just a little bit of something more. The eternity will be the .5 bead set. But wow beautiful ring!

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

I love my I colored BGD stone which allowed me to go bigger! You never know when DSS will kick in! ;))

I like the look of the 6 prong setting better for my MRB solitaire currently. I'd suggest a micropave band if you decide to go w/ a solitaire. However, Diamondseeker2006 has a 6 prong solitaire AVR along with a Tiffany legacy band which looks great, too! My whole set is from Victor Canera:

Haha DDS has already kicked in after seeing your HUGE rock! I will go and check them out the setting and a few more on the forum but man am I confused, it would be easier if I could just see it though...oh well atleast I know I will be getting an exceptional diamond.

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

You've made a great decision. After tons of research, I picked up a BGD Blue 2.3 J VVS2 with SBF last month and proposed. I happened to be in Houston on business shortly after I reserved the stone so I had the opportunity to view the stone and meet Lesley and Brian. Great experience from start to finish. The ring (a BGD "Kim" in platinum) and the stone are amazing. My fiancee and I have tried and failed to see even a hint of yellow in every lighting condition possible. We're convinced AGS made a mistake and it's a D. ;) Here are a couple of pics:

Re: RESERVED BGD BLUE 2.15 H VS2. Advise Gypsy and others pl

Thanks Jamiyj, after a lot of reading and advise from others I think I have chosen the right stone for me. Wow that 1st does look beautifully white, that's crazy how the lower end of the colour can be so beautiful within the BG range from what I continually see... and that is one gorgeous ring, I love the setting.
