I have to repeat you have the best of both worlds. MK is stunning. Her chunky bright faceting and old world charm. Swoon! I LOVE everything about her. And your new CBI D, well, spectacular comes to mind. So bright and white and beautiful. Your collection is amazbling @LLJsmom. :kiss2::appl:

I can see the difference when they are side by side, but not enough to say the H is "yellow" by any means. I am colour sensitive based on tests but I am also colour tolerant and I love a big sparkly stone even if it isn't bright white.

3 cushions, same size, D, G and K. I was surprised how much color I see in the G and how close the G and K seem to be. Both are GIA stones. K has faint fluor, G has none. 55998381-289F-4705-AE2C-4B0DE82A4007.jpeg 38519DBF-7341-448A-AC6B-79E47DC34AAC.jpeg FBAD2C58-3679-4B82-B6F3-D6F24C9B5783.jpeg 3F4FF443-9E9A-4A28-9A70-4F06316505A6.jpeg

I’ll add that all photos were taken indoors with overhead light source, only picture nro 2 was taken near window on a very overcast day. So there should no be much effect from the fluor.

I knew I would not be able to tell the difference once set. Happy with the match.

That is so odd! I recall that you said you were super color sensitive and that only a D or E would suffice. What do you think accounts for this change?
I started a thread on 3 stones and color bc in all pics that I see of 3 stones, i tend to see a color discrepancy with the center stone always looking different. I thought I was seeing things but in that thread Karl explained why. You should check it out and add your observations. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/technical-question-about-3-stone-rings.263671/

Some other pics. I just didn’t see a big enough difference between the H and the F.

This is such a great thread - as I sit waiting for my J colored ACA upgrade, I’ve been so nervous but these are showing me that I’ll hopefully be very happy! While I see some tint in the higher colors, they are still gorgeous to me, and I know with an ACA, the sparkle will overpower any slight tint!!

Glad it’s helpful. The reason I can barely see the color difference on my ring has a lot to do with the fact that the stones are set at angles to each other. When they are face up, unset, and flat, I can see the difference.

It’s like @Karl_K said in the other thread above. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/technical-question-about-3-stone-rings.263671/

CBIs left to right:

1 ct D -- 1.25 ct K -- 1.5 ct I

Same diamonds, same order below, but shown bottom-up (the D on the left is in an earring setting):

1 ct D -- 1.25 ct K -- 1.5 ct I

IMG_5400.jpg

Same diamonds from the side:

1 ct D -- 1.25 ct K -- 1.5 ct I

These are such helpful and useful reference points! From face up, I see more tint on the I but perhaps that's because it's bigger. It's more obvious from the side and the I actually seems quite colorless. Thank you for these!

That was very useful, thanks. I have some sentimental stones of varying quality and keeping your observations in mind will be helpful.

You’re welcome. Here is a pic of them unset and very slightly tilted. In this light you can see the stone on the left is slightly warmer. That’s the G.

In by other lighting it’s very difficult to tell.

The centerstone in my 3-stone is an H, the side stones are F/G as well as the 7-stone all F/G. The color difference between the centerstone and the rest of smaller diamonds can’t really be seen in real life and was only captured in the picture where my ring finger was bent.

@diamondseeker2006 continuing our convo about G &H color here, I think its more appropriate in this thread. As much as there’s a certain guideline to grade color, its still graded by human, I think 1 color grade can depends on who grade the diamond especially on the borderline spectrum. I think G&H really looks similar even in expert’s eyes. If you see my previous post. The H is clearly whiter than the G.

Had a chance to photograph my sister’s 1.94 ACA I vs2 and my 2.9 e si1 again! Lighting sucked but here’s a pic. 0D230DEE-876A-4C69-AE1F-865FDF38820C.jpeg B59F4BB1-E988-478A-9399-B9A22FD3B5DE.jpeg

The smaller solitare has been certified as G by Tiffany ( I hear their grading system is pretty strict) and the larger solitare has been certified by AGS and GIA as an H. I can easily see more tint in the H.
