So @MamaBee and i have been discussing color and I don’t think there are too many threads of real life color comparisons. So I will start bc I already have these pics uploaded.
the halo is GIA E si1 and the solitaire is 1.94 ACA I vs2. These are the only two certified stones that I have to compare in pictures. Keep in mind this lighting was gloomy when pics were taken. But I hope others can contribute in different lighting situations. ACA I in the center...Studs are GIA G
From the top they look the same!

If you could say what lab if it’s not an ACA that would be great!

This is a GREAT thread! Love the idea, thank you guys!! It’s so much better to have this kind of reference than just flying blind. Also, pictures in real life conditions are the most useful.

I find that I’m blind to the difference between G/I/J. I can see a slight difference between E and I, but it’s faint. D & L is the only pic in which I see a noticeable difference. Thank God for my actively color insensitive eyes

Omg! So hard to distinguish between the face up G and I.
can you show Libby vs summer in face-up different lighting?

They aren't super clean, but from L to R (with their weights since size matters) under indoor lighting near windows on a sunny day:

GIA G (2.73ct)
GIA H (.92ct)
GIA I (1.01ct/deep cut)

I am missing a few things because they are getting a remodel or sized. I think shape and modern v new have a lot of impact.

PXL_20201006_183039512.jpg

Ring finger, bottom up g/h on GIA scale per appraisal, middle ring is an I, pear is an L

Middle finger bottom, is an M and top o-p

Pointer is light yellow. One is w-x and the other y-z if I remember.

I have a three stone k, a u-v oec, snd a q-r omc all out for sizing or makeovers.

Gorgeous rings and pics! And I have to be honest—I can’t see a difference in the shot! Are you sure the I tint bothers you enough to upgrade in color?

Apologies for the complete threadjack, but Elizat you have 3 of my favourite rings in one shot: a baguette halo, your beautiful rounded oval navette and the CvB rosie/sapphire halo. Sooo pretty!

ETA - And I just spied some collet-set dangles in the same pic. What a group shot!

@elizat your collection is drool worthy! I must say that the only shocker is the middle finger—in terms of color comparisons but I think the M being set in yellow Gold is playing tricks on me! Bc it looks warmer than the O-P right above it.

Unfortunately yes...:(2 I just got another offer that got closer to what I would sell Libby for. That’s if the AGS cert is on par with GIA. My hair is falling out..lol They’re going to send FedEx instructions.. I gave them my address..OMG

@MamaBee Do you mind me asking the setting details for the ACA on the left? Love it!

Love your rings! How versatile! Do you notice a difference in color?

Thanks!! Your rings are exquisite, BTW.

I don't notice a difference face up at all. But I can see the difference through the sides if the lighting is right.

I am so excited for you!!! I guess that as much as we try to post pics, so many other factors are at play that can’t give an accurate representation! Sigh. But this thread is fun regardless!

Thanks Nala..IF I sell it...I will stick the money in the bank and wait for my January birthday. My husband USUALLY gives me mad money for Christmas and my birthday because I’m picky...haha. I’ll see what I have and hope they have something I want. There’s not much inventory with the stats I want at this point in time anyway.

Thanks so much! The earrings are actually a good example in color difference. I forgot about those. Top is w-x range if I remember, bottoms are both k. But the metal warms them up. The ruby earrings have diamonds that are probably h/I color. But they look very white compared to the k stones when together.

The 18kt does warm it up. I took photos that are not nice lighting on purpose, because I think the difference is more stark that way. Oddly, my u-v oec in 22kt looks whiter with yellow gold. That's off for sizing.

Thanks- that's very nice of you to say! I have culled it down a lot in the last year or so and am still remodeling some of it with new settings and conversions. The goal is only things I will keep and not sell going forward.
