Random Thoughts

We're dealing with cat bites today. it came into the yard yesterday while the girls were out, and they are a team when it comes to policing their yard. My husband tried to keep them from killing it, got between them but the cat bit him...badly. Once that happened and the cat moved from his protection, there wasn't much that could be done because greyhounds are fast. Cat did not survive.

Husband went to urgent care to get taken care. I had to deal with the aftermath which wasn't pleasant. Now when they go out they are on very high alert but then again so are we (we don't want a repeat of yesterday)

Cat I think may have been feral, no collar, but was a big kitty. The girls have a couple of bites but I'm waiting to see if there's going to be an issue. I hope not but made a vet appt as a just in case.

This is why I'm not a fan of outdoor cats. My reality is any animal that comes into my backyard that is seen as prey doesn't stand much chance. Heck they even chase the freaking gekkos if that tells you anything.

I'm just thankful the chickens next door aren't tempted to come over, but the girls know they're there and will talk the fence line.

Wow, I'm glad your husband got fast care. Cat Scratch Fever is a very real thing. A long time ago, I knew a girl who had to spend weeks in the hospital on IV fluids to save her arm.

Oh dear. Unfortunate story. I am glad your DH sought treatment; I worked in Burns and Plastics for 12 years and some of the nastiest wounds I saw were from cat bites. Keep vigilant to the treatment!!!!
