PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

Guess it is time to come out of hiding. This has been a very difficult month for me. Not sure when or if things will improve but it is what it is. I know that doesn''t really explain my absence but it''s all I really feel comfortable discussing on such a public forum. Anyways...onto the fun stuff...Tessa is wonderful. She is talking up a storm and really understands what I say now (which is nice). She is so polite and has "sorry", "please," and "thank you" DOWN. She impresses people but I guess that was the only thing this laid back mom ever really drilled into her. Manners are important to me. She also sings and actually gets most of the lyrics on some songs. She is still a dancing and swimming fool. Today she was pushing off in the baby pool (kinda of trying to float) and I really think she may be ready to learn. My brother was wrestling with her the other day and she was laughing so hard and my mom yelled "what''s so funny in there?" Tessa actually said "we''re happy!" Haha. I am in shock and awe that T will be 2 in a matter of months. I am hoping my mom can come down again and help me with her party. Once the photographer sends my sister their pro pics I will post my final picture (I think it will anyways) of T on PS (as a flower girl). Everyone else will have to find me on FB.

Hope all the mommies, babies and babies to be are doing well!

Bobo, coming out of lurkdom just for second to let you know you may want to do some research on the possible connection between soy and thyroid issues. You posted about giving your little one a lot of soy based products (soy milk, edamame, tofu). I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about a year ago and I am blaming the huge amounts of soy milk and soy products I was consuming in order to be "healthier". I''ve stopped consuming so much soy and I think it had really helped, but I''m also on meds (synthroid) so I don''t know how much of a difference it has really made. Okay, back to the ttc thread . . .

jas: happy birthday to the boys!! any parties?

jas12: sorry about going back to work--at least you had a nice chunk of time at home before having to go back.

tacori: hi girl! I''m sorry you had a difficult month--I wish I knew more, but understand your need for privacy. I''ll have to find you on FB. Can''t believe Tessa will be 2 either..she is such a sweetie by the sounds of it, and happy!

qtiekiki: are they concerned with M''s weight? I weigh C myself (on my scale with me, and then without her) and by my calculations she''s only about 18-18.5 lbs so I''m sure they''ll be worried too. It''s so annoying...I mean she looks chubby to me, eats fine..maybe all the other babies are just bigger boned! What is M''s diet like (what kind of solid foods, etc.)?

mrssalvo: happy anni!!

tgal: welcome back!

Thinga are moving along with C..1 in a month. Bought her pedipeds which she immediately pointed at and screamed for me to pull off. Sigh..She is standing and cruising while holding onto something, but that''s it. Still prefers crawling high speed. Do you ladies have any suggestions for bath transition meanwhile? I saw some great products on One Step Ahead (bath bumper) and BRU, but not so great reviews.

jas-i hope you end up enjoying your first day. fingers crossed that baby #2 gets baking quickly so you get another year off
2.gif

tacori-so glad you checked in. we miss you here but completely understand and respect your time away. I can''t wait to see pics of T as a flower girl. so cute about the "we''re happy" comment. what a doll.

vesper-congrats on your pregnancy. I had to kick my daughter out of her crib at 18 months. we actually moved so I took the crib down and set up the toddler bed so the crib disappeared and we didn''t put it back up until after my second was born. the baby slept in our room in a pack n play so I didn''t really need the crib right away. that gave my oldest time to get used to her new bed. but, she loved her toddler bed so it wasn''t an issue. I think maybe just taking the crib down might be a key. maybe even get a new stuffed animal or toy, pillow, blanket or something to go with the new bed might help too. I

janine-C''s weight doesn''t really seem too light to me. my niece was only about 18 lbs at her 1 year check up. she is 16 months and just broke the 20lb mark. If C is eating fine and growing steadily I don''t think they will be that concerned. as for bath. I''ve always given Jake a bath in the big tub. before he was big enough to sit up I just filled it with a couple of inches of water and laid him down in it. now I fill it to his bellybutton. I don''t have any special safety things in it. i just put in his toys and he would sit and play. I would be right by him in case he would try to pull himself up or something but he''s always done fine.

MrsS
Happy 9 years anniversary. Your overnight trip plan sounds fun, and sleeping in would be awesome. Meena also wakes up every day at around 6am, so I haven’t slept in for a long time.
Yay for Jake communicating with more words. Sounds adorable.
Jas12
It must be tough going back to work after spending a year with Co, especially since he is so interactive now. Hope you have good day at work today.
Good luck with TTC, so you can get another year off to be with Co and baby #2. I am so jealous. I don’t have enough sick and vacation time saved up to be fully paid during my maternity leave next year, but I’ll take the 4 months off to be with my babies anyways.
Vesper
Welcome to the toddler thread.
No advices, but wanted to wish you luck with transitioning DS to the toddler bed. I am still trying to decide what to do with bed/crib for Meena and the new baby. We are debating between a PNP for the baby and letting Meena stay in her crib for a little while or a toddler bed or a full size mattress on the floor.
Tacori
Good to hear from you. Hope whatever you are dealing with will get better. I understand not wanting to disclose details on here, but we are here for you if you ever need.
Tessa sounds adorable as usual. Yay for good manners. I think that’s one of the things that a lot of kids lack nowadays. Our nephews don’t say “thank you” unless reminded. Can’t believe she’ll be 2 in a couple of months.
Janine
Pedi is only concerned because M went from 90 something % down to around 50% for weight. I don’t think he would be worried if she had been consistently 50%. M was 20lbs 13oz at her 9 months well visit; she was down a few oz to 20lbs 8oz at her 12 months visit. At her weight check (13 months), she gained 1.5oz to 20lbs 9.5oz. Pedi says it’s not good, but not bad. But he hasn’t really suggested anything that we can do to increase weight gain. We’ll go back next month for flu shot and weight check, so maybe if she is still not gaining, then he’ll let us know what we can do. I think M eats fine too. She eats more than her 12 months cousin, and she is more active and taller than him. I am not too worried.
M’s feeding schedule:
6:15am – soymilk and cheerios
9:00am – Chinese rice porridge with veggies and meat
12:00pm – soymilk and cheerios
3:00pm – snack (Goldfish and animal crackers, etc)
7:30pm – dinner (Chinese rice porridge with veggies and meat, and meats and veggies from our dinner)
9:00pm – soymilk
We’ll also give her fruits and yogurt between her meals, but pedi just told us to totally cut out diary until she is two.
I think she eats a good amount. But if any mommies have suggestions for what we need to add to her diet, let me know.
So if C has been consistent on the growth chart, then she should be fine.
I had been showering with M. I need to get some non-skid mat for the tub, so I can shower her by herself (without me being in there).
Hope all the other mommies and toddlers are doing well.

ah qtiekiki I see. C has been consistent on weight chart (50%, sometimes on the border of 25-50%), but it''s been 2 months so not sure how it''ll rate at her 1 year. I think she has been gaining since she was around 16.5lbs at the 9 month. She eats yoghurt, avocado and cheese everyday--she should be huge by now! But she''s petite so that''s just how she is!

Thanks for sharing your menu, that Chinese porridge sounds good!

Thanks everyone. It''s good to be back.

Janine, life hits us all hard at different times in different ways. I tend to think too far into the future which is unhealthy and overwhelming so I remind myself to take life one day at a time. Tessa IS a happy girl. Of course she is major into tantrums. I am talking her hitting the floor, face down, kicking and screaming but I know it is the age. T is the opposite with her shoes. She LOVES her "shOOs" and always wants to wear them AND have us wear our shoes. Of course to her shoes=going outside so that could explain it.
1.gif
For baths I used to put a towel down to make it less slippery but now I don''t do much. I do have something over the faucet (a Dora, plastic cover) and a nonslip bath mat. Not sure the bumpers are worth it. She doesn''t really "bump" into the sides. She does love to stand up and slam down on her butt which worries me. I mean the bathtub is NOT padded and I would think it would hurt. She is a little freak.

Jas12, good luck going back to work. I can only imagine the stress building a home can bring and seeing how your DH is so involved it would be tough.

MrsS, thanks friend. She was an excellent flower girl.
2.gif
How is Jake doing? Are the girls back in school? Happy anniversary!!!!

Q, M does eat a lot! T''s weight drastically changed % tiles once and her pedi did worry. Luckily it went back on track and I am sure M will too. I don''t put too much stock in the % tiles anyways. She looks and sounds 100% healthy. Thanks for the support. I feel so lucky to have so many friends on here who seem to really care. It means a lot.

Ack, had a whole response and then my computer froze. Argh.

Tacori, good to see you here! You''ve been in my thoughts!

QT, I think Meena eats more than Amelia! Amelia is getting so skinny, but I am not sure it''s because I''m used to seeing a pudgy baby. I had a whole response of what Amelia eats, but I''m too lazy to retype it. Basically it sounds like Meena eats fine!

My latest annoyance is exploding hemangiomas. Ugh.

And I''m a countdown to moving...T-1 week. Can''t wait!

Thanks Pave, the pedi called back and want us to have little B tested again for thyroid and carbon dioxide when he see us next week.

MrsS, the pedi said the carbon dioxide is the acidity of his body. He didn''t really explain it well enough but he did mention this might be why little B isn''t growing...he want us to get tested again when we see him next week. Glad to hear Jake''s fever is gone...

Hi Jas, can''t believe the boys are 1 already...

Jas12, you are one busy girl, first day back to work is always a pain, hope you will have a good time at work.

Hi Vespergirl!

Tacori, so glad to hear from you, was wondering if everything is well with you. Can''t wait to see pics of Tessa.

NewShiny, because he is allergic to milk so he''s been on soy formula and now soy milk mixed with soy formula, other than that he doesn''t take much soy products. Thanks for the info, I will discuss this with his pedi.

QT, M''s feeding looks good to me. M is probably a skinny like you.

just wanted to pop back in and say hi!!!
DH and i are off to vegas tomorrow. and i am so sad about leaving B although i know he will be in good hands with my mom. but i must admit, i am excited about shopping and pampering myself without a little kid with me. i am getting BIG, officially 23 weeks today! WOW!!
i will try to catch up before i leave, but have a ton of packing to do for myself and B. he is really excited to be going to "gramma''s" house. so that''ll definitely make it easier. and my parents went out and got him the same bed as he has at home to help things along, which will make future sleep overs easier as well. haha...already looking into the future!!
real quick...
tacori welcome back!! hope things look up for you. T sounds adorable as usual.

mrsS congrats on the anni!!!!

hope everyone is doing well!!

Hey there everyone!! I am so sorry I''ve been MIA forever!! Things are just so insanely busy with volleyball and school and what not. Add to that, I had some MAJOR cramping all day Sunday and yesterday morning and then got a migraine yesterday early afternoon.
20.gif
OB says my cervix looks good (no impending labor at 16 weeks, thank goondess) and they think the cramping and migraine may be due to a bladder infection (
40.gif
Weird). I should know more later today. Anyway, other than that, Tayva is doing great. Really loves her school and her teacher and her friends. She talks about what they do there constantly and I am very pleased with everything she is learning (today they were using scissors!!!
23.gif
....I would never attempt that with her...so glad she has "school" for that!! ha) I''m back to "taking it easy" tonight and for the rest of the week per OB''s request so hopefully I can get all caught up with my PS mommy friends!!!

Real quick, though, Have fun Puffy!!! and welcome back Tacori!!

MrsS--
That''s great Jake knows to use the tissue for his runny nose.
J would use the tissue when she pretends sneeze, but uses her hand when it''s the real thing
14.gif

Happy 9-anni to you and your hubby.
A mini getaway w/o the kids sounds good.
You definitely deserve the recharge time.

Sorry to hear that Jake had a fever, but glad to hear that he''s back.
J went through a bout of the fever and being sluggish a little while back when her molars were coming in.
It was so unlike her to be napping twice in the day. Once those molars came up, she''s back to her normal self.

Sounds like Jake is starting to pick up things.
Yeah, I love this stage too. Nothing sound sweeter than their little voices trying to repeat things we said.

Awww....thought we could convince you to join the preggo bandwagon ^.^ and make it half a dozen.
I know what you mean about missing those baby times when you see those little feet and toes.
It''s a good thing you live close to your sister now, so you can go over to her house and get your baby fix when she has her second.

puffy, i hope you have a wonderful trip and can really pamper yourself.

tacori-yes, both girls are in school full time. they both love it and have transitioned well. jake is doing great too but I think he misses his sisters during the day.

burk-ooo, i hope you feel better...bladder infection, no fun, but so glad it''s nothing having to do with the baby.

tgal-what did the dr say about Amelia''s hemangiomas? and yay for moving!!!!

bobo-keep us posted on little b...

lili- you are so right about having my sister close. we were at the pool this morning and both trying to keep up with our little one''s and I was thinking next year jake will be swimming or pretty close too it and by the time her next one is a toddler I won''t be chasing after jake all the time and will be able to actually help her and yes, I''ll def. get my baby fix. it''s funny though b/c I can be around a newborn and think they are sweet but no longer have any desire to have another one...which my hubby is very thankful for
41.gif

QT--
Sounds like M is taking off w/ her new found skills.
It won''t be long before she starts running and walking up and down the stairs!
Ha, trust me when I say that I still have my 20wk pooch.
I''d post a picture if I weren''t too embarrassed about it :P
You know how you ladies complain about the extra skin around the belly PP.
I was wondering what extra skin.....I don''t see any on me...until I realized that the extra skin still house my 4th trimester pooch
15.gif

When is your u/s?
Can''t believe you are nearing the halfway mark.

Wow, M is a good eater.

That''s funny that you were clingy when your mom was preggo w/ your sister.
It''s weird yet interesting, but I think kids somehow senses these things and instincts just kick in to fend for their mom''s attention.
My nephew was like that w/ my sister. He became incredibly clingy when she found out that she was pregnant.

Pave--
Sounds like Tyler is doing great!
That''s good his reflux and allergies are resolving themselves.
So is T adjusting well to the new sitter?

jas--

wow, can''t believe your little monkeys are 1 already!
so is #3 in the works?

jas12--
Am amazed by your little smartie pants.
Wow, talking in mini sentences already?

Tacori--

35.gif
welcome back!
we missed you friend. i hope you are feeling better.
T is a riot! Too cute w/ her response to your mom.
Can''t wait to see pictures of her at the wedding.

Janine--
My pedi was only concern about J''s weight because she was jumping across percentile.
She was 20% when she was born, then jumped to 90% from month 2 - 6.
Then she jumped back down and is probably at the lower percentile.
His concern was that maybe she wasn''t eating enough, but when she''s been consistently gaining weight, but not as fast as before,
he''s ok w/ it and attribute her skinny minnie to genetics since both mommy and daddy are skinny.
She just broke 20lbs and she''s almost 17 months.

Bobo--
Thinking of you and little B.
LOL..he wouldn''t be chinese if he doesn''t like chicken feet
9.gif

Puffy--
Enjoy your little getaway!

BURK, take good care of yourself!

TGAL, you''ll be in your new place before you know it! How exciting!

PUFFY, enjoy your vegas trip!

JANINE, yes, come find us! I want to see pics of C! Sounds like she''s doing well! What bath transition tips are you looking for?

TACORI, good to see you here! We''ve missed you! Can''t believe T is going to be 2 in a few months! Sounds like she''s doing very well!

VESPER, congrats on #2! Good luck on the bed transition.

JAS12, Yay for Co walking! Good luck going back to work. I''m sure time will fly by with the house, going back to work, family time, etc and you''ll be on leave again soon. Sending lots of baby dust your way!

MRSS, happy anni! Have a great trip!

JAS, it''s so good to have you here! I joined a little early.

PAVE, good luck job hunting. Enjoy your time with T. Sounds like he''s doing well!

BOBO, hope feeding is going more smoothly.

LILI, is J feeling better? When they have a runny nose it''s no fun! D has had one

QT, PUFFY, and BURK, you all look great! So cute! Makes me miss my pregnant belly.

Things are great here. We're settling into our new home. We love it. D has been sleeping extremely well in his crib and putting himself to sleep. He sleeps an average of 11-12 hours a night. A few nights ago he slept almost 13 hours! I was shocked! I couldn't be happier! Things are much easier. DH and I are enjoying the free time we have while he sleeps. There's always something to do with the house! The last few days he's been taking only one nap (1.5-2 hrs). I think he's moving on to a one nap a day schedule. When did your LOs start taking one nap?

He's also teething again...it never ends! His top middle tooth has been bugging him for a week and it finally broke through. He's been busy crawling, walking with assistance, and pulling himself up.

I'm making plans to wean him in a month. I have very mixed feeling about it. I'm excited for the freedom but sad too. For the most part I've loved BFing. I'm going to miss it. I need to stop pumping at work soon but haven't decided when. I don't want to be in pain when we're on our trip so I'm trying to stop gradually.

I can't believe it's September and I'll have a ONE year old this month! Where did the year go?

Hope all the mommies and kiddies are doing well!

Okay....going to get caught up!!!

mrss~Happy anniversary!! It is such a relief that Tayva is so in love with her "school." I feel so at ease dropping her off. Is Jake still in a ball phase? Tayva is a HUGE fan of balls-probably since I''m a coach and everything around here is athletics. She has more balls than I can count...her favorites are volleyballs and footballs.

Jas12~Hope your first days back at school went well! I didn''t realize that you were going back full time. Was that always the plan? Good luck with TTC!! Hope Co has himself a little brother or sister really soon!

Bobo~Your appt is right around the corner now...9/8 right? Is B eating any better?

lili~I don''t believe for a second all this talk about you still having a 20wk pooch...but even if it is true the only thing to do is get preggo again!!
12.gif
T is really enjoying school and from what her teachers tell me, they love her. She is quite the teacher''s pet for sure! Somehow she must escape the tantrums that she has at home while she''s there?!?!?

vesper~Congrats on your pregnancy. How is the transition going? Everything I have read says not to push moving to the new bed and to keep them in the crib as long as they want? Maybe he''ll decide he''s ready soon and it will be a non-issue? Tayva is younger than your son (19 months) so we''ll just be keeping her in her crib and getting the baby a new crib. Good luck!

QT~I think T will probably start asking questions about my belly once it''s actually big. For right now I just tell her she has to be gentle to my belly so she gives it kisses and rubs it.... she plays pretty rough so she''d be jumping on it if I let her! So cute about your nephew wanting a baby brother or sister! I''m pretty sure I still just look fat to anyone that doesn''t know me..... so annoying!

pave~Glad you were able to find a great sitter...so much to be said for that peace of mind! Good luck with the sale of your house!

janine~T absolutely LOVES her daycare....to the point where she asks if she can go to "school" before it''s even time to leave in the mornings. I started T in baths in the big tub as soon as she could sit up well. She loves the big bath. I don''t know you need much of anything besides one of those mats for on the bottom so it''s not slippery.

jas~Happy birthday to the boys! (Late) So glad to have you over here!

Tgal~Hope all is going well with preparing for the move! Did I miss it or did you say if you are moving to a house or appt? How is Amelia''s hemangiomas?

snlee~Sounds like everything is going great! Yay for good sleep! I know a lot of the kiddos in this thread moved to one nap a little earlier than T did so hopefully they''ll chime in, but I moved her to one nap around 16 months. If it seems like D is ready, then I''d go for it.

In my news...no bladder infection, which was a relief. Still need to monitor the cramping and stay off my feet when possible (which, in my life is next to never) but everything seems to be a-okay. I''m a little irritated by the migraine since I didn''t get any while I was preggo with Tayva and thought I''d escape this pregnancy without one, too. Oh well. Other than that, T is getting a few teeth right now and woke a couple times last night which was a rude awakening for what we''ll be in for a few months from now.
6.gif
She''s been super happy during the day, but when I went in there to get her last night she told me her mouth hurt. So cute. Hopefully I''ll be able to stay all caught up from now on...but I''m not going to hold my breath.

So I witnessed one of the cutest things EVER today...a toddler hand holding another toddler hand
30.gif
I took T to the park and she quickly made a friend, Abby. I am not sure how old she was but I am guessing less than a year older. Old enough to talk fairly well though. Anyways they started jumping on this bridge thing together having a grand ole time. Then Abby wanted T to go down this slide with her (with the huge step you have to take to get there). So she goes up there and is saying "come on" and when T finally obeyed this little girl helped T up! I wish I had my camera but Abby holding (and pulling) T up there was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. Ever. But then Abby wanted to go on the swings so the budding friendship ended. Haha. I also took T back to the gym today. I think she had fun but I got a great big hug when I picked her up. Ahhh...unconditional love. Wish it would never end huh?
2.gif

TGal, thanks for all your support. Yay for moving! I am really happy for you guys!!!

Bobo, I am hopeful things will improve soon. My sister used the same photographer that I did and they took their sweet time getting me my pro pics. Hopefully she will get her pics soon.

puffy, have a great time in Vegas. I am JEALOUS!
2.gif
23 weeks. The baby will be here before you know it!

Burk, hope you are feeling better. How scary! Sounds like T is blossoming! My T won''t be using scissors anytime soon! Haha. They are brave there. Teething sucks. Plain and simple. Luckily I think T only has to get her 2 year old molars left. Pain/sickness is always worse at night.

Lili, ah, the molars are bad. Glad that''s over with. T keeps me laughing that is for sure.

MrsS, oh, poor Jake. He must love seeing that school bus come in the afternoon.

snlee, I can''t believe her b-day is coming up either! Time flies. Yay to your new home. Isn''t everything easier when they are sleeping well? I think T started taking one nap around 15 months or so. I would have to look up in this thread to know for sure though. I really like the one nap so we can go and do stuff vs. waiting around so she can nap.

Burk--
Thank goodness it''s not an infection.
Take it easy and rest up.
Hope you are not pushing yourself too hard while working your students in this heat.
That''s so great that T is enjoying her class. Makes so much easier to drop them off at daycare huh?
Haha, that''s what I''m thinking too.....just hoping that it happen fast for me as it did for you ladies.

Tacori--
I agree...it is the cutest.
J and one of her classmate was doing that and hugging each other on the last day of class last week.
Being the non-cuddler, J was on the receiving end of the hug and hand held....but it is just as sweet.
Her classmate was so enthuse about the hug that she knocked J over in the process, and then later she tried to help J up....
soo cute. too bad I didn''t have a camera handy
8.gif

I''m sure there''s never a dull moment w/ a spunky girl like T around.
When are we going to see T in action heh?

TGal--
Good luck w/ the move.
How exciting. Is this place gonna be bigger than the apartment?
What perfect timing for A....now she''s got more room to play.
I hope this place doesn''t have concrete stairs.
Boo on the hemangiomas. What is the prognosis from the Dr?

Snlee--
Wow, D is going to be so soon.
Working on #2 soon then?
2.gif

Quick note to respond to the hemangioma question...

Doc says it''s small, probably won''t get really big and he''s not going to do anything at this point. He did say it could bleed if punctured or scratched and that the bleeding could be disconcerting as it would continue to bleed for some time.

Sure enough, for three days now this thing has exploded. Twice overnight, resulting in blood all over her crib (POOLS of it), dried blood all over her face. Heartwrenching to see a smiling toddler in the morning covered in blood. At least I know it''s not hurting her.

It exploded again today and this time during the day when I wasn''t home. She was distraught and apparently it was messy.

I''m calling the doc again. She sleeps right on it since she sleeps on her side and the hemangioma is looking horrible and there''s probably a risk for infection.

Argh.

Sorry to not catch up, but I noticed a few inquiries and thought I should answer.

burk: welcome back, you are a busy bee! Glad to hear it''s not an infection, but hope the migraines ease off. The big reveal is soon meanwhile!

snlee: hi there!
35.gif
Wow, you''ve got an awesome routine there with D...how''d you pull that off? How''d it all click, was it the CIO? What''s D''s eating schedule like now? Yay for the crawling, assisted walking and new home!!

Meanwhile, C''s sleeping schedule has hit major speed bumps and I need some help/thoughts from you ladies. She''s always been an easy sleeper, usually in the crib 8ish-7am with maybe an occassional stirring awake which just required a paci. Sometimes she goes to sleep on her own, sometimes i pat her back on the bed (after a bottle) and move her to her crib once lightly asleep.
Well, things are now upside down. The past week she has gone to bed like usual, but woken up 2am, 3am, 430am and then awake for the morning 6am! It''s tough on me b/c I go to work at 8am, but mostly I''m worried about her. I''m ok with flukes but this has been consistent for a week. Any thoughts on what it might be? Some wake ups just need the paci but at least one is now involving her fully awake and standing in the crib wanting to be picked up! I''ve given her a bottle out of frustration, but this is not a good pattern (ie back to newborn days?). It could be teething (she has 4 up top and 2 on bottom now), but she''s teethed before without this. Her naps by the way have been fine meanwhile. Could it be that she''s hungry and needs more solid food later? Her latest solid feeding is 530pm with bottle at 8pm. Just looking for any hints/tips that I may not be picking up....Thanks!

Sorry to hear about A''s hemangioma. I am glad it''s not painful but I''m sure it''s no fun for you or her. I hope it gets better on its own soon.

Tacori~awww....toddler hand holding. How cute is that?!?! As for the scissors....um no way are we going anywhere near scissors at our house for years to come.

Teething is a PITA. Poor T has been so slow to get hers in. She just got the last of her bottom front four!

I gave her motrin before bed last night and didn''t hear a peep from her until 8:15 this morning so hopefully the worst is over.

lili~Yea, I was relieved it wasn''t an infection. I do probably do more than the average preggo, but I did with T too and never had any problems. My OB isn''t concerned b/c that''s how I was pre-preggo so he says it really should be fine. Luckily our gym has AC and I don''t have to deal with the heat. Don''t know how that would go. It is so much easier taking T to daycare knowing she absolutely loves it. She practically shoves me out the door every morning saying "bye mommy. Love you"

Tgal~Poor A and poor you!! That must be horrible to see.

Keep us posted please.

janine~Thanks! We do stay busy, but it''s good busy. I''m lucky to have a part-time teaching job so I get plenty of time with T in the mornings and she is just loving her 4 hours at daycare (to the point where I think she''d be glad if we left her there longer

). As for C''s sleep-I''d say it''s probably teeth. I would definitely not feed her when she wakes because you don''t want to make that a habit. Night is always the worst for teeth. T woke 3 times the other night (at 19 mo) because her teeth were bothering her (or so I am thinking because she told me her mouth hurt). Maybe try some motrin when she wakes or teething tablets? I gave T motrin before bed last night and didn''t hear a peep from her.

burk, great news that it''s no bladder infection!! I totally hear ya with the good busy. that''s how my life is. I much prefer it to having nothing to do.

tgal-poor Amelia. I cannot even imagine the blood getting everywhere. i''m glad it doesn''t hurt her though.

janine-i''d say it''s probably teeth too. I''d try giving her tylenol or motrin right before bedtime and see if that helps.

snlee-so glad little D is doing well...are you doing anything for his b-day?

T and I had a playdate at the park this morning. Hysterical since her and her friend never wanted to play on the same structure at the same time. Then we went to lunch and over to the Gap since it was next door. T was a MAD WOMAN running around, hiding in the racks, never standing by me. The ladies who worked there thought she was so funny. She was standing there in the middle of the store with her hands on her hips holding court. My sassy, sassy girl loved having all these women smiling and talking to her. Though they all did agree I was in trouble. Miss Thing didn''t want to nap forever. I don''t think she fell asleep until 4.

TGal, I missed something! Is A okay?!? Hope everything sorts itself out soon. Poor A and poor mama!

lili, that is SOOO cute! T keeps me busy. I need to use our video camera. I am such a bad mom about that. Maybe this weekend I can get a cute video.

Janine, teething seems to get worse. Probably b/c the teeth get bigger so that could upset her. Try giving her some motrin or something and see if that works. Does she let you know when she is done eating (like pushing the spoon away or turning her head?) Both things would be easy things to try to see if it solves her sleep problems. I also LOVE our video monitor b/c I can spy on her without going in and having her see me.

Burk, I will just be glad when all her teeth are in. I am glad it was not an infection either. I had one after L&D and they can turn NASTY really quickly.

MrsS, I am trying to stay more busy too. I just signed her up for a thing at the library and I think I will take her to a mother''s morning out program once a week.

tacori-I bet T would love a mother''s day out. we met Jake''s teacher today and she is so nice and Jake loved his classroom. he''s going to have a ball there. and I really look forward to having a few hours to run errands or whatever with any kids and knowing Jake is safe and having fun. i''m going to get a pedi/mani right after I drop Jake off next week

By the way I forgot to mention T's friend stood right by her mom the whole time yelling "Tessa come back!" Haha.

MrsS, I meant to ask what are you planning to send him with for lunch? Also any ideas where to get a good lunch box/backpack for her age? Enjoy the pampering! You deserve it!
