IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

The radiant is a fancy shape diamond, and fancy shape diamonds are best evaluated in-person and/or by image/video and reports.

The GIA cert you posted does not contain any red flags with the possible exception of the table size (75%). However, if the crown height is reasonable, the large table may still present nicely. Do you have access to photos and/or videos of this diamond and if so, can you post them? Either way, does the vendor have a solid return policy?

If for whatever reason this radiant on paper ticks all of your boxes, and there's a reasonable return policy, then purchase it and then come back here with your own photos so you can get PSer input while still in your return period.

marymm thank you so very much!! I'm so clueless about diamonds here is a photo

I was concerned about the 5 year old gia certificate so the jeweller sent it off for me yesterday to have it get a new/ renewed certificate....I did not want to buy it until I had seen the renewed certificate

BUMPING THREAD!!

Does the jeweler have an ASET image of it? It looks like there might be some light leakage in the middle with this dark areas.

Unfortunately no he has not mentioned this, I could ask him. he has only given me this so far...

okay I have just sen him an email asking for an ASET image. thanks for the tip KKJohnson

A lot of the carat weight is in the belly of the stone, meaning you are paying for carat weight that isn't visible face-up. There is also no crown to speak of. If this combo of a deep stone with a very large table and flat crown is pleasing to your eyes, it may be worthwhile to buy/see it in person... it does seem the vendor is responsive to you. However, personally, I would pass and keep looking, as flat-crowned diamonds do not appeal to me.

so I'm trying to figure out what you mean by crowning regards to radiant cut (I'm totally ignorant) and I have been searching the web without much luck...
any chance you could please explain to me how you determined the crown?
Personally I was concerned about the 75% table as well as the depth....

thanks for helping again! in learning slowly

Crown is the part above the girdle. In this stone, it is not very high. That in combo with the large table will, from the side, make the diamond look flat. I’ll find some examples.

okay thank you.he said that cut is not graded and/or relevant with radiant cut diamonds, so I was unsure if my opinion of its "problems" was valid
