Deciding between two emerald cuts. Both at 4.05 cts and K in color. One is slightly more elongated, which I asked to see because I am planning to set it east / west and like the elongated proportions.

Would really appreciate any advice or thoughts! I am concerned about windowing and extinction, but don't have a trained eye for these things. It's such a big purchase and I just want to ensure that I am picking the best stone possible. Thank you!!!

Gia reports attached. Don’t have Loupe 360 photos, but photos attached and videos here:

This helps with your dimensions.
EC’s are tricky, and mainly everything about them involves preference.
I prefer a slightly smaller table (below 65%), but that just *me*.
You’ll notice one of these is “too shallow”, but that may not be a bad thing, depending on the spread, and performance of the stone to your eye.
The videos look good.
Have you observed them in different lighting environments to see if either of them dim, or window while tilted? Can you get ASET images to determine any issues within each stone?
They are both great contenders. I do hope one is a keeper!

FYI...you can make the stones go East/West in diamdb.com by swapping the length and width values.

Ditto @Matthews1127 Have you seen them in different lighting?

Unfortunately, it's hard to tell anything from the video, except that it looks like a nice option. (nothing negative
jumps out to me in the video).

I can find nothing glaring against either stone in the video. No obvious inclusions, and no performance issues. No unusual windowing, and I don’t see any dark areas.
I will mention the diamond on your middle finger draws my attention due to the proportions. It distracts from the other stone… A LOT. My eye just can’t stop looking at that one. Not sure if that helps, but that’s my feedback.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I went back to look at them today and really am torn. I really want the elongated proportions, but see the difference in the performance. I am worried that the photos I posted really favored the one. Sharing some other videos here that they do appear more equal in:
Do you still think the shorter one is much better in performance?

Thank you so much! I am agonizing over this choice

This window effect at this angle bothers me.

Excellent pic.
That's one of the best pics of windowing I've ever seen.
