You have both been immensely helpful, thank you! I'm actually really surprised green is in the lead! I'll admit the orange is still my fave at the moment. But that could change... and then change again... and again. As I said, I'm a Gemini!!

Fellow Gemini here. I get it!

Arrghghgg, I can't decide! I need to stew.
Also (has this been mentioned?)thought that kornerupine might be a lovely contender as well in place of vanadium chryso!

Me neither! Which way do you thnk you're leaning at this point? I'm still stuck on the orange or yellow. I do like the green, but I can't say it's my fave (probably because I already have a lot in that shade). The kornerupine is an interesting suggestion though. I'll have to browse!!

I don't know yet, truly. There is something very appealing about the natural pair of soft blue tinged green but then orange is over here batting her eyelashes at me... it's going to come down to the perfect shade. Maybe trawl for the soft golden yellows and see how that strikes you?
Yes, I know, I know, not particularly helpful.

It's so true... @Cerulean mentioned the same thing. Even a slight modifier will completely change the mood, and the pairing can go from complementary to clashing real quick!

you should see how im planning to paint our house ! :lol-2: o_O
everything will be loud as !
and possibly clash left right and centre
but with moody jewel tones

spent too many years selling paint when all anyone wanted was grey or white

and i used a colour wheel to make sure !
(not planning on selling house)

@thirdrock You guys find the best inspo! That last ring (with what appears to be a mint tourmaline and tanzanite) is particularly beautiful!!

I am terrible at make these decisions and am having a hard time picking just one! I think I’m leaning towards option #3 though.
Since I know how you feel about turquoise I thought I’d share this combo :)

I’m going to sound like a fuddy duddy but I think all of these combinations cheapen the sapphire color.

I think a white moonstone cab halo would be pretty.

These are faceted (which could also work) but here’s what I mean. Something white and opaque would flatter the sapphire and still feel modern. FA7DD1B7-08B9-4F80-9554-F807F533351B.jpeg 5E712215-4007-4043-9F90-CFD28C36EB8D.jpeg 94B94494-5E95-460C-A572-6C250FB6BE7C.jpeg

Now this is thinking outside the box! Very interesting... thank you for the suggestions!! Of course, white diamonds look great no matter the center stone. But please trust me that they do nothing for this particular sapphire when I place them next to it. I don't know why! I have other pastels with white diamonds, and they work. This one just looks super drab with them to me. I feel like it needs some sprucing up!

what a fun thread! I voted for the orange sapphire moi & toi. I think it will look very special. Whatever you end up doing, it will look fabulous, looking forward to seeing the final product.

Thank you! This combo is still #1 for me right now!! But it looks like green is going to be the clear winner.

How about keeping it cool toned with pink side stones?
I like the 3 stone ring but not so sure about the colour combo.

I think the colour intensity has to match, anything with more colour will overpower the pastel stone.

Even the cut doesn't matter that much once the colours have the same intensity.

That's really gorgeous! Thank you for your efforts!! It does look great with soft pink. The only reason I didn't consider it is because I have so much pink already. But I can't deny that it looks beautimous in your mock ups. :kiss2:

I too have a periwinkle sapphire and bought a pinker sapphire to do a toi et moi at some point.
Will take a photo of them both tomorrow in daylight if you'd like to see a real comparison.

I tried to put the periwinkle next to a Chryso I have and nope, did not like it.

Oh how funny that you were thinking of doing the same thing! That would be super helpful... thanks so much for offering!! :)
