Well, there is no doubt that Obama has been good for gun sales... In November alone, the FBI processed over 185,000 background checks. Many states reported an increase in firearms sales following the mass shooting in San Bernardino. I suspect people are motivated by fear - fear of gun control, fear for their own safety, fear that Obama isn't doing enough to combat terrorism.

I'm inclined to believe that as well, although I have no factual basis for this.

I've been a registered democrat since I was 18 (a long time ago). I do not vote along party lines, but rather consider the individual candidate. If *I* miss the days of a rational Republican party, I can only imagine that traditional Republicans must as well.

My father is a die hard Republican and I was asking him if he would vote for trump/Carson. I said I hate trumps sexism and xenophobia. My dad joking said "I don't mind those things, he's just so stupid"

And he told me he won't be voting. He always votes. He likes to say he's cancelling out one Democratic, so if he isn't voting I think there are lots of Reps that are just tired of it all.

It's unfortunate that it's become such a sh*t show. I really wish politics didn't have to be this way. It's so dysfunctional. I'm feeling pretty depressed over who my choices might be because I'm struggling to find a single candidate that seems qualified.
