Good morning ladies! Just got back from seeing my friend for dental work. 2 Amalgams down and 8 to go lol.

@Austina you are the sweetest, thank you. But believe me we are hardly glamorous and we are one of the most down to earth couple you will ever meet.

Yay for being able to dry laundry outside. Love the fresh smell of outdoor dried clothes. Our sun actually came out yesterday surprising and it was hot. Omg it was 50 degrees F the day before and then 85 the next day. Cuckoo weather.

Glad you enjoyed a lovely time out with friends. And happy it took you away from the neighbors noisy party. I hate that because I hate noise. I feel like that old lady who yells at the kids to get off her lawn lol. But I just don’t like noise.

@marcy not sure about the remote locks re Frontpoint. I asked Greg and he said the newer versions might have that. Ours does not. However we love Frontpoint and it suits our long distance needs very well. Remote alarm and disarm and alarm stay and alarm away and has flood sensors amd fire sensors and police dispatched immediately if they cannot contact us when alarm is triggered. Also cameras inside and out that we monitor remotely and motion activated. Last night at 2am I heard one of the cats coughing hard so I was concerned and went downstairs and flash my photo was taken lol. We are very pleased with Frontpoint and I did a lot of research to find them and have not been disappointed.

I’m feeling ok thanks for asking. Except for a bit of a faster heartbeat which makes me think I’m on too much thyroid replacement but I changed my appointment from next Wednesday to June 20th because I’m sick of going to the doctors. Now I, wondering if I made a mistake.

We started watching Mrs Maisel on Amazon Prime. If you have Amazon Prime check that out Marcy. It’s very entertaining. Thumbs up from both of us.

@LLJsmom thinking of you and sending hugs and good thoughts.

Working out and then off to the heavy metal specialist. I’m apprehensive about that but glad to have gotten the cracked amalgam out this am. Making progress and one day at a time. Need be one hour at a time. I’m doing ok. Thanks you all for caring. :kiss2:

Enjoy this lovely Monday girls. It feels like summer spring here today. Sun is shining and it’s in the 70s. :wavey:

Good morning! Thanks all for checking in on me while Mr. PB is away. He did have a delay and crew change etc etc… so had to stay an extra day before getting to the end destination. He might have caught a cold too. No worries that he will get through it. Not sure about the chocolates he brought.. melted or not?! hahaha

Oh made a couple of kale salad this weekend and enjoyed it. Will start to incorporate it into my healthy eating repertoire! Oh also very thankful to say that I did get in a long run this weekend. I cut it 0.5 mile shorter than I should have done but it was getting way too hot. No IT band troubles this time but I purposely picked a flat course. I’ll take it though…. Hope everyone has a great week!

@Austina – I fill my time when Mr. PB is gone with chores, visiting with friends, cooking etc, and of course some episodes/books/painting my nails etc. He missed out on a 1 year old birthday party this weekend. Oh my goodness… so many kids… I had a 1 hour limit before I had to make a quiet escape.

I bet you enjoyed watching the Royal Wedding? Did you do a watching party with friends or something similar? I wish I was a Brit too!!!

Glad you had a fun time with your friends!

@missy – Oh yes, I have cooked beans in the instapot. Below is the link that I’ve followed about 3 times. I think the instapot does a decent job with the beans. Nice to not have to soak and cheaper to buy dry beans. However, buying canned beans aren’t too pricey either. Let me know how it turns out! I usually add garlic and bay leaf but I bet you can flavor it with tons of things!

https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/how_to_make_fast_no_soak_beans_in_the_pressure_cooker/

Photos of the dark blue jacket? Nice to “wear it out of the store”!! I don’t know if I’ve ever done that before…. How fun! Did Greg pick up any goodies too?

Hahaha… how come Greg picked a pink dust respirator. Adorable.

@marcy – Oohhhh noo…. How fearful for that moment that the club’s website was gone. Ya’ll are very talented to maintain a website. I don’t know anything about that stuff! Pretty star lights in the snoopy jar. How does it light up? I don’t see the wire that is connected to the outlet or is it battery run? Very cute!

Wow long line to wait for tickets. He’s a patient man. I think my wait threshold might be 1 hour at the most and it must guarantee that I get something or else I’ll just say no thanks. Are you going with him to the concert?

Hi girls!

Missy, I'm glad the dentist was so thorough and the staff was so helpful and accomodating. Great news about not having peridontal disease. Hopefully you won't have to have the amalgams replaced. Sweet pic of HRH, and what a pretty view too. And yes, Greg looks great even when he's wearing a dust respirator!

PB, hope you had a nice weekend in spite of dh being away, good idea to keep busy and I hope the week goes by quickly for you.

Marcy, I love BB and B, I can never leave that store without buying something. Oh no to Marty deleting the website! I'm glad you and he were able to get it up and running again. Lol to being glad you didn't do it - whenever dh makes a mistake, I always say "I'm just glad it wasn't me!" Lol. That is such an adorable jar that Marty found, and it looks great with the lights inside. And I adore that aquamarine ring that Harry gave Meghan. :love:Wow, Marty had a long wait for the tickets. Too bad the bracelet didn't work out - what about just adding the pendant to one of the heart links? Just an idea, it might be too much. I hope you come across a bracelet that will work, I think it's such a great idea.

Austina, we love royal weddings here too! My friend and I were up early and watched it. So magical and beautiful, like a real life fairy tale. I would love to visit England someday, I love the history and beauty of your country. Hope you had a nice time at your friends' house.

Sharon, hope the weather is still great for you, and your hip isn't acting up.

Had a good time at my friend's house, I haven't seen her 2 daughters in a while and it was so great to spend some time with them, they're a lot of fun and we laughed a lot. Watched Cinderella (2015 version) on Friday night, it was really enjoyable and a perfect segue into the royal wedding the next morning lol. The party went really well, she and I made a good team - she handled the main course and I did the busy work of putting together the appetizers.

Not much going on today, just some errands and laundry. Beautiful day so I'll also make sure I get out for a walk at some point. Have a great day everyone!

Missy and PB, we were posting at the same time lol -

Missy, I'm glad the amalgam removal went smoothly for you. Sending lots of good wishes for your appointment today, I hope the heavy metal specialist can help you. Sorry to hear about the fast hearbeat and I hope that calms down for you. I don't blame you for being tired of going to doctors.

PB, congrats on your run this weekend! glad your IT band didn't give you trouble. It's great you enjoyed your kale salad, it's always good when you find something that tastes good and is good for you :appl:

HI:

JuneB--your weekend sounded lovely. How nice for you to catch up with friends!! Thank you for asking about my hip--it is sore daily. I am beginning to worry--maybe I should see my Dr.

We have been cycling all this long weekend--Friday was windy which made it cool, but yesterday and today warm and lovely. I cycled then walked to the market--the paths were busy with people!! Saw some kayakers and sailors also. I think I got a bit of a sunburn on my neck. lol

PB--I hear ya on the kids parties. I didn't like them either! Funny how I've forgotten about those now by son is 24.:P2

Missy--hope your appt. are going well.

I need to get groceries today--gosh I hate that chore. My life is one long never ending chore.

NIRDIs:wavey:

cheers--Sharon

@junebug17 so glad you enjoyed the wedding viewing with your friend. I love romantic affairs like weddings especially royal ones. Oh the fashion and bling. Swoon. :kiss2:

Hope you have a lovely walk today. It’s beautiful out. Enjoy.
Thank you for all your good thoughts.

Lol @canuk-gal to life being one never ending chore. I hear you loud and clear om that one. It sure is. But boring chores beat out the unexpected ones generally and I sure could use some boring in my life right now lol.

I’m so sorry your hip is still sore Sharon. Yes please schedule an appointment with your physician. Sending you more healing vibes. And (((hugs))).
Thanks for all your good wishes.

@PierreBear so happy you had a good run this weekend. Thank you for all your good thoughts and also thanks for the link. We ordered the small instapot. I sure hope it reduces lectins effectively as that would give me more protein options and yummy ones too.
Here’s a photo of the blue jacket. It’s vintage. The only leather I’ll buy now.

And speaking of purchases I forgot to tell you I bought a cute little necklace from Swarovski this weekend. I’ll probab wear it a few times and then give it to my niece. I couldn’t resist. It’s Blue.

Ok I’m off for real now. Enjoy the rest of the day. :wavey:

Hello lovelies

Another beautiful day here, we went to VW and walked through the woods as it was getting hot out in the open.

Wow Marty must really want to see that gig to queue for that long! Shame about the bracelet, but if it’s not right, there’s no point. Hopefully you’ll find the perfect one soon @marcy. I hope you caught up on your sleep and woke up feeling rested and refreshed.

We watched the wedding at home, then watched the highlights with our friends after dinner @PierreBear. Poor Mr PB getting delayed, as if travelling isn’t stressful enough. I hereby pronounce you an honorary Brit

Good news that your IT band stood up to the run. You’re not alone, I can’t stand the noise of children, I asked the cashier in the supermarket last week if she had a large cork for a screaming child

Glad your weekend went well @junebug17 and you enjoyed the wedding -come on over and we’ll show you around, we’re falling over history :D

Sorry to hear your hip is causing problems still @canuk-gal , yes to getting it checked, you don’t want to cause any more issues by leaving it.

 the jacket @missy looks great on you. I’m glad the dental appt went well today, did you go for composites?

The choker is lovely, both your nieces will want it :D

How did the heavy metal specialist visit go today, did it proved helpful? Oh no to the faster heartbeat :(2 You can only try the lower dosage and see if that helps.

Have a good day :wavey:

Hi NIRID’s!

Missy, I hope your mouth isn’t too sore. Thank you for the info for Frontpoint; I will pass it on to Marty. That is too bad you are having a faster heartbeat; can you just call the doctor for recommendations on that? We do have Amazon Prime; I’ll have to look up that show. Great shot of the sun rise with a cute HRH watching. Great jacket and necklace; they look fabulous on you. I hope your appointment went well.

PierreBear, I am glad to hear you DH made it to his destination even though it was delayed. I hope he doesn’t get a bad cold; it’s no fun to be sick when you are away from home. Good deal you got in a nice, long run this weekend. The star lights are battery operated. They are in a box about 5/8 inches high and maybe 2.5 x 3.5 inches. I put it at the bottom and towards the back then squished lights in front of it. Marty is a very patient man; lucky for me. Ha Ha. No, I generally don’t go to concerts with him. The last few times I went I couldn’t see a thing since everyone stands and if I stand up I am short so can’t see anyway. He loves music and concerts; I enjoy listening to music on the stereo.

Junebug, I can always find something at BB and B too. It’s a dangerous store for me. I do really like the Snoopy jar. I was going to stop at the mall on the way home tonight to look at bracelets but I ran in to hail so decided to come straight home. I thought I’d look at some link chain bracelets, what they generally call X & O bracelets and maybe a link bracelet with hearts. I will have them put the heart pendant on the chain as a charm. I know I’ll wear that. I tried it last night by using thread to tie it on to one of my gemstone bracelet. I am glad to hear you had such a nice and fun time visiting your friend this weekend.

Sharon, I hate to hear your hip is sore every day. I hope it gets better. I am with you about grocery shopping. It’s not one of my favorite chores either.

Austina, glad to hear you had nice weather. I browsed gold bracelets online last night and picked out a few styles that might work for the heart pendant. Hopefully I won’t have thunderstorms tomorrow night and I can get to the mall. I am sure I’ll find something I like. Marty loves music and concerts; I don’t like the noise or crowds so i’ve only gone with him to a few of them.

I had pizza for lunch and supper today. Our boss bought pizza for lunch for everyone and all I had thawed out to make for supper was a batch of mini pizza so I stuck with that plan.

I guess they are putting in our new window on Friday. I am excited. Marty gets home late Thursday so he can take down our drapes and shades Friday morning.

Take care.
Macy

2AA90350-4DF5-40B0-BCAE-F56E418AE1FA.jpeg This gives you an idea. That is my 2 carat diamond bracelet from the side with the heart pendant. I will see what style and size of bracelet I like the best with it. This bracelet is probably 2mm. The pendant I think was 1/4 ctw. They aren’t PS quality diamonds but top quality sentiment.

Good morning girls!

I saw the heavy metal specialist late yesterday and she was very nice and conservative (just how I prefer my doctors) and she wants me to continue eating wild salmon and sardines so I get enough protein but cut out any of the big fish that have lots of mercury and we are rechecking my blood in a month. She said she doesn't see much mercury poisoning where she practices and so I have the highest of anyone she has seen but she also feels it is probably because I am a pescatarian and if I cut out (which I did a few weeks ago when I first found out about my mercury level) the high mercury fish my blood mercury should keep going down.

She doesn't want to start me on a chelation process until we see how much/if the mercury goes down first by making this change. She also said if my mercury doesn't go down we will have to figure out where it is coming from because that is critical. So for now we are hoping it is from fish and time will tell.

She said as long as the amalgams are being removed correctly it is fine to remove them but to make sure they are not disturbed because that could cause problems. She said the consensus is that it is OK to leave amalgams because even though some mercury vapor is being released it is very minimal. But if one is having symptoms removing them is the best bet. In my case it could go either way since we are not convinced any of the mercury issue is from the amalgam. But since my amalgams are pretty old it might be for the best to remove them since Denise (dentist) felt they were breaking down anyway.

A worrisome new problem (sigh) is my pulse was 91 when measured yesterday and my bp was 160/78. That is totally not what I run and all day I felt weird so it wasn't me being nervous for the doctor visit.. My pulse tends to be in the 50s and bp around 115/70. And I dont know if you remember but I said my heart felt very fast yesterday all day and today too unfortunately. I am not feeling right at all. The doctor yesterday thinks I might be in a hyper thyroid state and I did call my endocrinologist after my appointment yesterday but he was not in as it was after 5PM already. I have an appointment next week with him but I am going to decrease my thyroid replacement. I spoke with someone in his office when I called and she said she doubts the dose I am on could cause a problem but right now that is what makes the most sense to me and I don't know what else to do but reduce the dose of thyroid meds. Ugh. I really really hope this doesnt become a big issue. The heavy metal specialist told me if my heart starts beating irregular to get to the hospital and that scared me a bit. I hope that doesnt happen but my heart is beating hard and doesn't feel right still today.

I also lost another 2 lbs so I am getting off the AIP diet for now because I have lost a total of 6 lbs in less than 2 weeks. Not OK for me.

@Austina thank you. I needed something right then as it was freezing out that day so it was the perfect purchase. And it's blue. Cannot resist blue.
I did get composites in place of the 2 amalgams she removed.
Glad you enjoyed another lovely day and walk. The woods sound lovely and cool.

@marcy what lovely bling. Thank you for the nice comment re my jacket and necklace. Both blue. My mouth/teeth are not sore at all. My friend is a great dentist. Thorough and careful. And very slow. LOL. I was there 2 hours but that is OK. She is good and I appreciate her being meticulous.

I hope the Frontpoint info is helpful and please do not hesitate to ask me anything else if we can help. I would do Frontpoint all over again if we were choosing today.

What a gorgeous sky and yay to not being a twister or tornado. Whew.
Pizza for lunch and dinner oh I am jealous Marcy.:lickout:
Glad you are getting your new window this Friday. What a relief to get that done. And woohoo for Marty's return Thursday. 2 more days.:appl:

We are expecting a furniture delivery today b/w 4-7 PM so hoping that goes smoothly and the right furniture is delivered. It was no easy feat rescheduling and I am keeping my fingers crossed it goes well.
Have a lovely Tuesday girls and hugs.:wavey:

Leaving you with our sunrise photo from this morning at 5:30 AM.

Hello! Good news is that Mr. PB said all the chocolates made it overseas and didn’t melt. Whew…. Hmm in my world things are as good as can be. I over did it on the kale though. One bag is too much for one person so I’m trying to eat it all before it goes bad. Ummm I think I’m tired of kale already. Ooppsss… haha I’ll try to throw the rest into a soup and give it a break and perhaps I’ll be excited to get it again. Other than that, I discovered a new Netflix show that has been fun to watch. Crazy ex-girlfriend which is a very light-hearted show and is almost a musical/parody. OK signing out and hope everyone has a great day!

@junebug17 – Awww watching Cinderella with a bunch of girls sounds like a wonderful time and yes, a fun transition into the royal wedding. Way to put on a memorable graduation party! It sounds like you are really close to your friends and got to see their daughters grow up.

@canuk-gal – haha a 1 year old party sure would be different than a 24 year old party. At that age, do ya’ll still do parties for your son or go out to eat/watch movie etc and then let him do something with his friends?

Hope you got some goodies at the grocery store. I’m a strange one but you also know that I enjoy cooking/baking. If it helps, I try to get excited about what I can make with ingredients in my cart and I try to pick out a treat when I’m at the store. At Trader Joe’s there is a duck pate that is fantastic or I pick out a new cheese to try. I hear you on life feeling like a chore at times… it’s putting our fires one day at a time.

@missy – Fun jacket! Fits your body great! Cute necklace as well. You are quite the shopper.

Oh so glad that you can still eat some fish. Do you eat sardines often? Hmm sorry about your pulse being high but could that just be the nerves from being at the DR? I know some people have a device where they can check their blood pressure at home so I don’t know if it’s worth trying that first (when you are calm and relaxed at home) before you go to another DR visit just to gather more data.

Sorry again about the weight lost… Greg will be cooking up some good salmon for you soon enough I bet!

Enjoy the furniture and can’t wait to see it!

@Austina – Yay an honorary Brit. I’m moving on up in the world! I try not to be too opinionated on this public blog to not encourage unnecessary comments but this is a strange time that we live in and it’s challenging at the moment for me to be proud to be an American. With our political polarization and safety issues…. gosh it’s hard to stay positive sometimes. I’ll just stop there before I get myself in trouble but hurray to be deemed partly British!

How are the home renovations coming along? Happy with the outcome?

@marcy – Ohhh fun that they are battery operated. Makes sense for that clean look. I’m not a concert person either Marcy! I’ve only been to two in my life time and that’s probably enough. Where I live, we are known for big music festivals that happens twice a year. People travel around the country to come and yet I’ve never been. I don’t enjoy the crowds so I’ll just enjoy it from the stereo as well.

Yay for the new windows coming soon and for Marty getting home just in time to help out.

Don’t worry about not having PS quality diamonds. It truly is beautiful and yes the sentiment is irreplaceable and invaluable!

Hi Guys,

I don't have time to really reply- between work, renovating two houses, kids home from college, life is completely insane. But Missy! Holy smokes - just saw the mercury news. I'm so sorry you're dealing with yet another thing.

What dose of what thyroid meds are you on? Its very common to swing from hypo to hyper with Hashimoto's, particularly when your levels are beginning to change. That's why you really want a therapeutic dose rather than a treatment dose. I have had irregular heartbeat and fast pulse in the past when I had too much unconverted T4. I'll check back in to see your reply.

Hoping for a little more time to catch up with everyone in the near future and that all the lovely Nirdis are well.

Hi @jaaron! So nice to see you. Hope all is well by you and thanks for checking in with me.
I am on Armour Thryoid 60 mg twice a day. So I think I am going to just take it once a day to see if it helps with my erratic heartbeat and high pulse. I messaged the endocrinologist but he has not yet gotten back to me so unless I hear from him or unless you tell me otherwise that is my plan for now. To go to 60 mg Armour once day vs twice a day.

Latest labs show my TSH to be 0.04 and my free T3 to be 4.4 so outside the normal limits but the other way this time so I think I am overmedicated and that might be why I am not feeling well.

Hi everyone!

Missy, I'm glad you are comfortable with the specialist. Hopefully limiting fish will bring down the levels. Glad to hear removing the amalgams will go smoothly for you. Sounds like a good idea to put the AIP diet on hold for now and hopefully returning to your normal diet, and eating salmon and sardines, will help you regain the weight you lost. I'm so sorry about the issues with your blood pressure and fingers crossed cutting back on the thryoid med will help. It's terrible you have this added worry, you already have so much going on, and I'm sending lots of good thoughts you're feeling better soon.

Love your jacket and necklace, both are lovely and look great on you. Wow, beautiful sunrise! Have fun getting your new furniture today, so exciting! I saw your wedding pics in the other thread and your dress is gorgeous! You and Greg look amazing and so happy!

Sharon, on no, I'm so sorry your hip is bothering you so much, might not be a bad idea to get it checked out if it continues much longer. Nice that you have been having some good weather. I hear you on the chores, they are never-ending and it definitely gets old. :cry2: Love the pic of your wedding dress in the other thread, stunning!

Marcy, your mom's pendant will look perfect attached to a gold bracelet, I'm hoping you find one that will work well. Yum to pizza twice in one day, sounds good to me! Yay to getting your new window soon. Wow, that is an amazing pic of a stormy sky, mesmerizing and scary at the same time!

PB, yay to finding a good netflix show, that will help pass the time while dh is away! Good idea to use up the kale by putting it in a soup, Let us know how it turns out.

Austina, hope the weather is good for you on your side of the world and Dottie is getting some nice long walks lol!

Not too much going on here - I'm leaving for SC on Thursday so I should start getting myself organized - have a good day everyone!

Hi NIRDI’s!

Missy, I hope cutting out the big fish does drop your mercury levels. It sounds like Denise takes good care of you so it may not be that bad of an idea to have those old fillings removed if they are decaying. It’s a tough call. That is scary about your BP and pulse being so high for you. I sure hope butting back on the thyroid medicine takes care of that problem. I am so sorry you are going through this. PS dust and hugs coming your way. I copied your info about Frontpoint and will print it out for Marty. He’ll probably do research on it this weekend. Gorgeous sunrise photo. Did you get your new furniture.

PierreBear, good deal the chocolates made the trip in it’s original shape and condition. We definitely are concert / music twins. My couch is way more comfy than some stadium seat. I am very excited about my bracelet project.

Jaaron, you are quite busy. Take some time and relax.

Junebug, we are getting another rain shower right now. I am actually getting kind of nervous that it turns out it wasn’t our window. Marty has been up there and looked though so he probably checked everything out. How exciting to be heading to SC soon. Have a wonderful time.

I was in class all day at work. This one isn’t too bad; it’s centered around personality types and dealing with different types. I am done with the class at noon tomorrow.

The clouds were to the west tonight when I got off work so I headed to the mall. I did find a YG bracelet I liked and they are sending it out to get the pendant mounted on the bracelet. The lighting in the picture is bad (typical mall jewelry store yellow).

Have a great evening.

Good morning girls!

@junebug17 looks like we are due for some warm sunny weather for the rest of the week. A welcome change.
Yay to SC trip coming up. It's so nice to have a getaway somewhere special that is home to you as well. For the person who doesn't love traveling it is the perfect win win situation. Are there any guests joining you? Any holiday parties scheduled? I hope you have a wonderful trip and enjoy your time there. Hugs to you and Zoe.
I am doing OK thanks for your good thoughts. XO.

@marcy you won't believe this (because I hardly to) but the furniture delivery was a no show. At 7PM when they failed to arrive we called and they were said it was never put on the truck. We asked why we were not called but of course no one took responsibility. Sigh. Have not yet rescheduled because we need to talk to a supervisor to find out what the heck went wrong and how can we be assured it won't happen again. Luckily it was raining all day and Greg was busy working on restoring our kitchen dutch door which is turning into quite the project but coming along. It is a door from the 1920s we think and needs a lot of work to be restored but Greg is doing a really nice job.

I am glad work went well yesterday and being in class all day certainly helps. I enjoy learning new things so I hope it was a welcome change from your everyday schedule.

That is a very pretty yellow gold bracelet and I bet it will look great with your mom's charm pendant.

@jaaron wow renovating 2 houses at the same time. That can be stressful. We sort of did that with our Sea Girt home and Brooklyn home but we were living somewhere else at the time so lucky for us we were not living in a reno zone. Hope that it is all going smoothly and enjoy the kids being home from college.

I shared my thyroid numbers in my prior post fyi. Halved my meds starting yesterday from 120 mg Armour to 60 mg Armour.

@PierreBear Glad your chocolates did not melt. Gotta have priorities in life.

My high pulse and bp is definitely from the thyroid hormone. I have a bp monitor here and in Brooklyn too. Definitely not white coat hypertension or anything related to nerves but instead related to being most likely in a hyperthyroid state. The endocrinologist never got back to me but I guess I am not surprised. Disappointed but not surprised. Anyway I have halved my dose and hope it isn't unsafe to do so but the fast heartbeat was unpleasant to say the least.

How is your workweek going? DH coming home soon I hope and hope your week is going well despite hip issues.

@canuk-gal how are you doing? How is your hip feeling? Thinking of you and hoping you are enjoying the week and that all is going well despite hip issues.
furbaby is giving you lots of purrs and love.

@Austina hey there and good afternoon by you. What's going on in your part of the world this week?

@CJ2008 hey there CJ. Hope you are having a good week. Hugs to you and to Mousey. How is Mousey going? Any updates? Thinking of you both.

So Memorial Day weekend is coming up and though we have invites to parties I am leaning towards not going to any this year. Might want to head back to NYC this weekend. I feel like we haven't been there much at all this month. Have not yet decided however and today we are heading out for a bike ride finally. It's been many days of rainy weather so it will be nice to enjoy cycling. Have a wonderful Wednesday girls.:wavey:

Hello lovelies

@marcy your bracelet is going to be lovely, the diamond heart is the perfect size for it, and the whole look is so wearable.

I had to  when I read what your class was about, hellooooo do they know the ‘personality types’ you have to deal with on a daily basis?

Yay to heading to SC @junebug17 - how long are you going for?

Good news the choccies arrived safely @PierreBear :D Wouldn’t want Mr PB being forced to eat them because they weren’t in tip top condition ;)2 He’ll soon be home

We put kale in our winter vegetable soups, I like it, but not sure I’d want to eat it raw in salads.

@missy, I’m glad you’re eating fish again and putting the AIP diet on hold, it’s very restrictive, and your weight loss is significant over such a short space of time.

I wish I could remember what Guy used to tell patients concerned about old amalgam fillings. I’m glad your dentist is able to remove the old amalgam safely and replaced them with composites. I have read that a daily dose of not more than 200-400mcg of selenium binds Mercury and renders it inert.

I hope a decrease in your thyroid meds stops the racing pulse and high BP, you don’t need this on top of everything else.

Totally unacceptable for the furniture not to be delivered and just adding insult to injury to be given no explanation :angryfire:

I hope you were able to enjoy a lovely bike ride today and clear your head from all these worries.

More beautiful weather here, we’re not doing much, just enjoying it

Big wave to all the NIRDIs :wavey:

Hello and hope everyone is doing well! Doing a workout tonight with a friend and then we are all meeting up for dinner next to the gym. Should be a good time tonight. Haven’t found other good books to read yet but will be making a trip to the library soon! Have a great day!

@jaaron – Good luck with all those projects and busy life events. Hope it starts to slow down for you!

@junebug17 – Safe travels to SC tomorrow and hopefully the packing is easy and smooth. Do you bring your cat with you on these types of trips?

@marcy – Interesting about personality types… learn anything new? I was just talking to my coworker the other day. It seems like there are people who fear consequences and other people who don’t care about them. Very different in how we are all built. Congrats on finding the bracelet you like! Looks lovely! Do you wear bracelets on your dominant hand or non-dominant hand? I’m still enjoying my fashion bangle that I got a few weeks back. Though sometimes I feel like I’m adorned with too many accessories… necklace and a bangle and rings and small studs as earrings…too much?!

@missy – Oh hmmm glad that you have a bp monitor at home but sorry to hear that it is a true issue to deal with. Hope the endocrinologist gets back to you asap! Workweek is going as well as can be and we have a conference call tomorrow that we are prepping for but other than that, can’t complain. Appreciate you asking and DH will be back end of this week. Yippeee!

It’s ok to say no to parties and just enjoy some time together. Hope you get the rest you want this weekend.

@Austina – Glad the weather is nice over there. It’s way too hot over here already. I heard it will be in the 100s this weekend? Yuck! Bit too early for that summer feel. Well the only good thing I like about summer though is watermelon. Yum!

Hi NIRDI’s!

Missy, you need to start using this acronym YCMTSU (You Can’t Make This Stuff Up). i can’t believe your furniture didn’t get delivered and they didn’t bother to call you. That sounds like the kind of service we get around here. I am sure Greg will do a wonderful job on the door. Is your pulse slowing down with less medicine? I sure hope so. How was your bike ride? A lazy holiday weekend in the city or at the beach sounds great!

Austina, as a matter of fact we discussed in class that some of our employees need to be reading these books and doing these exercises. I am glad you are enjoying more beautiful weather.
PierreBear, i hope you night out with the girls was fun. Actually the different personality types is pretty interesting. This program is using the DISC method; I’ve done the Myers-Brigg before and the DISC seems to really nail most of us that took the test. It tells you do’s and don’t of dealing with different personalities, what is important to them so i hope it is helpful with me and my diverse strong personality employees. I am always to give something a try. I wear my bracelets on my non-dominant hand. I think you wear just the right amount of jewelry; I generally wear the same.

Thank you ladies for the kind words on the bracelet i picked. I think it turn out just right.

My class was done before noon and I’m done for about 3 months. So far the daily thunderstorm hasn’t appeared yet but there are still warnings out. Our grass is sure green though.

Have a great evening.

My pulse is slowing down now with less medicine thank you for asking. I will explain below in my reply to Austina. Yay for choosing the right bracelet and I am with you. I think it will turn out just right and be beautiful. Yes for class being over now for a few months and glad you got out early yesterday. The rain sure helps the grass stay green and that is really nice. I also love the smell after a rainstorm. In fact as long as it isn't raining most of the week I enjoy an occasional rain and thunder storm. It clears the air and sounds so pretty as it is happening. Relaxing and cozy when one is inside but nice when one is taking a walk in it as well as long as one is protected. IDK the rain can sort of rock when it happens occasionally. Hope your weather is behaving and woohoo long holiday weekend coming up.:appl:

@Austina yes I definitely lost too much weight for my frame in such a short time period. I was very surprised but I guess nuts make up a big part of my caloric intake so OK for now am eating them again and fish again and hoping it all works out. Feeling good despite it all and enjoying cycling again that is for sure. My endocrinologist called me yesterday and said I did exactly the right thing by cutting my dose in half and my instincts were correct. I am pooling T3 (I think it's T3 but not sure as we were cycling when he called and it was hard to hear everything he said). Anyway I am to continue one pill a day and I am seeing him next Wednesday and he will retest my levels. I also asked him about iodine supplementation based on a book by Dr Browenstein recommended by @Ellen (thank you Ellen and what a great book). My endocrinologist is familiar with the book and he said he would discuss it with me but that the 24 hour urine test (LOL yes that test again OMG) is the only one Dr Browenstein considers accurate for iodine eval vs the serum blood levels which he does so not sure what will happen. My endocrinologist doesn't want to put me through another 24 hour urine test and goodness knows that was not fun but if it will help evaluate the need for iodine supplementation I am willing to do it. I want to get completely healthy and I bet I am deficient in Iodine. The thing is with Hashimoto's is Iodine can be inflammatory to the thyroid. It is very complicated as most things are.

Thanks for the Selenium rec. to help detox the mercury. I read that before and I am already supplementing with Selenium (because it is important in thyroid disease) by ingesting Brazil nuts daily to get the RDA. However I read taking pills are better as the amount of Selenium varies in the Brazil nuts so looking into the supplements recommended.

Glad you are enjoying more lovely weather!
9 more weeks till we meet woohoo

@PierreBear Glad you enjoyed a workout with a friend and had dinner together too. How convenient it was next door to the gym. And yay for your dh being home soon. We got the Instapot on Tuesday but I haven't unwrapped it yet haha. So much happening that there just hasn't been time. Thanks for saying it is OK to miss some parties. I feel guilty as this is the big one of the year down here but I would rather just spend it with Greg cycling and just being together. Not into crowds or noise right now. Though they throw a great party with a band and everything. I am glad Greg is good with missing it too. Yikes to your temps being over 100 soon. I am melting just reading that.

Hope you get to cool off in a nice pool or Ocean.

Speaking of warmer temps we are off for an early bike ride as it is getting warmer and warmer each day and we want to beat the heat. But first some good news. We spoke with the supervisor at the delivery company and woohoo she made the impossible happen and had the furniture delivered yesterday morning to us right after our phone call! We were out cycling but got approval from her to have the delivery men leave it on our front patio which they did and when we got home from our ride Master Greg put it all in the house and put it together (I helped a little but not much) and then he removed the old furniture and dragged it out to the curb as today is large trash day woohoo again. Perfect timing. Here are a few quick pics I took.

Furniture delivered and left for us on front patio while we were cycling.

ikeadeliveredonfrontpatio.jpg

Keep in mind we need all new everything now. New area rugs, new end tables and new coffee table and perhaps another new ottoman as the ottoman is smaller than what we are used to but we will live with it for a bit and see if we need 2 there by the love seat. Very pleased. It is super comfy and very pretty. We have leg covers but will put that on another time and see what we think. Or we might refinish the wood legs to darker. Not sure what we will prefer.

The Restoration Hardware wood coffee table has to go but just left it there for now as we were exhausted from the long day yesterday and all the furniture moving when we got back from our 50 mile bike ride yesterday. But a good tired. Though Greg was completely exhausted after moving all the furniture in and the old furniture out.

Now here's hoping the kitties manage not to destroy the new couches for at least a few years. It seems we are replacing our furniture every 5 years or so due to destructive (but lovable) kitties. When we are home we can generally catch them in the act and stop them but we aren't here all the time and they love scratching the heck out of everything. Oh well.

Our ride yesterday was lovely. Scenic with fresh air and crashing waves and perfect temperatures. Quick pics of some of the scenery.

For @Jimmianne this is for you: First up local artists painting the landscape. I was imagining you here painting the landscape...Don't you agree? ;-)

In contrast just a mile or so away the anti aircraft missiles from the Army built after Sept 11, 2001 to keep us safe from air attacks. It is manned 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Sobering thought isn't it.

Have a wonderful and safe day NIRDIs! (((Hugs))).:wavey:

Good morning! Workout with my friend was great. We ran around the trail at the back of the gym and did 4 miles. My friend is a tough cookie… she’s in her upper 50s and I can’t keep up with her on runs. Granted she ran track in college and even qualified for Olympic trials in an event but still… my 30 year old body can’t do it! I told her that one day we will be the same pace when she’s in her 70s. haha… then we went next door for a meal and 2 other ladies joined in so it was nice to all reconnect and catch up. Other than that I am just chugging along and ready for the long weekend. Hope everyone has a great day!

@marcy – Oh interesting as I’ve done Myers Briggs similar to yourself but never heard of DISC. Glad you are enjoying your bracelet! I actually have a chained necklace that I realized I rarely wear as often since I favor the designs of the other ones. Just a fashion piece and nothing expensive. Well I started to loop it around my wrist as many times as I could and wear it like a “bohemian” type bracelet as it’s a bit droopy since I’m just wrapping it around. Hahaha a bit untraditional but at least I’m getting some use out of it. It kills me to purchase something and only wear it for a couple of times though I’m realizing now when going back to my old travel photos to figure out what to wear on upcoming trips that I’ve been wearing the same stuff for 10 years. Travel to a new place and wear the same uniform of colored top and shorts?! I guess I shouldn’t be embarrassed since it’s similar to “capsule clothing” as another person was discussing in the hanging out forum. But after coming across that thought, I think I mentally starting to desire a change. Oh well, will have fun with it.

@missy – YCMTSU…. NIRDI… these are going to be popular phrases that all the young kids will start using soon. Oh glad you got a call from the endocrinologist. Sorry I feel like I’m a dummy when it comes to all these health topics but sorry to hear that you might be deficient in Iodine. If I’m thinking correctly I thought one gets that through table salt but not sea salt? Good luck my friend and keep eating those Brazil nuts!

Have fun with the instapot when you do decide to try it out. I bet I’ll start learning tricks from you soon enough.

Lovely furniture! I’m sure you must be so thrilled with them!

@Austina – Hope your day is going well. Is it pilates day? Make any good soups lately or it’s feeling too much like summer for ya’ll too? Big hug to Dottie for me.

Hello lovelies

The new furniture looks  @missy, now just to keep the kitty claws at bay. It’s very elegant and modern looking.

I’m glad to hear you’re feeling a little better now that you’ve reduced the medication, we really do know our own bodies best. Perhaps supplements would be better to ensure that you’re getting a consistent dose everyday, without ODing by eating too many nuts.

I suppose the way to look at the anti aircraft missile is that it’s there if needed, but hopefully won’t ever be used.

Hope you’ve had another lovely ride today. 9 weeks and counting

Did you have a good workout with you your friend @PierreBear ? Is there such a thing as too much bling, you’ll be drummed out of the bling babes with that attitude

I saw it’s going to be really hot there, it’s supposed to be 82 degs here this weekend- more than hot enough for us. We’re definitely going to need a pool to survive there.

Glad you’re done with classes for a while @marcy. I’m afraid I have little tolerance for things I think are a waste of time. We had to go on a course which had absolutely no relevance to our practice. They gave us a feedback form after asking what we enjoyed most about it, I put ‘the lunch’

When will your bracelet be ready?

I hope the thunderstorms don’t cause you any problems :???:

It’s a bit dull and cooler today, we’ve been to the woods and Dottie had fun chasing lots of squirrels, she’s worn herself out :D

Food shopping all done and put away.

Big wave out to all the NIRDIS :wavey:

Hi Nirdis!

Missy, I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better after reducing the thyroid med, and glad that the doctor confirmed it for you. Hopefully you will get some insight into the iodine situation next week at your appointment. So glad the rain has finally cleared and you're getting a chance to do some cycling. Sorry for the aggravation with the furniture delivery, but wow the new pieces are gorgeous! Everything looks fabulous  Your beach house is so pretty, and what a view. I get where you're coming from with regard to the parties, I'm not really into being around a lot of people these days either.

Wow, those missiles out in the open like that are jarring, but necessary unfortunately and I guess it's good they're there. Love the pic of the artists at work.

My sister, bil, niece and her fiance will be in SC on this trip, so we will be getting together with them. No parties planned, but dh and I will have a barbeque one day and have everyone over. Yes, the place in SC is working out well - I'm not much of a traveler these days, so it's nice going to a vacation spot and still feeling at home. Dh loves it there so it works out.

Marcy, love the bracelet you chose! Perfect for your mom's pendant. Glad your class wasn't too bad, and sometimes it's nice to have a break from the usual routine. I hope your window installation goes smoothly, and hopefully that is the reason for the leak.

Jaaron, wow, you do have a lot going on and I hope you also manage to get a little down-time too. So nice hearing from you, take care!

PB, wow, your friend is really impressive! Your dinner sounds like fun, it's nice to have a chance to catch up with friends. Luckily my ds will be around this weekend to take care of the kitty. We will be going for a week in July, and we will drive so that we can take her with us. I would take her on the plane and avoid the long drive but she meows a lot when she's in a carrier and I don't want to annoy the other passengers.

Austina, yes, sounds like you're in for a heat wave! Yay to Dottie getting in some good exercise. Hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

I got my hair cut and colored yesterday, and feel like a new woman lol. I don't know why I always put it off for so long, lazy I guess :P2 Leaving for the airport later this afternoon, so just gathering up my stuff and doing some last minute straightening, so that ds can unstraighten everything while I'm gone haha!

Take care everyone, I'll check in soon!

Hi NIRDI’s1

Missy, your new furniture looks beautiful and very comfortable. Yes, new furniture means everything else needs replaced. I love the smell of the air after a rainstorm; you are right it seems so clean. I am relieved to hear your heart rate has slowed down. I am glad you are feeling good. I hope eating nuts and fish can help you put some weight back on. It sounds like your endocrinologist is paying close attention to you. Great pictures; I especially like the painters because they do have a wonderful view.

PierreBear, running with your friend sounds great and I am glad you caught up with some friends for supper. You are keeping busy. Good plan to make a bracelet out of your necklace so you can enjoy wearing it. I currently wear my tri gold bracelet more than anything else. I kind of quit buying tops because I have to many of them and I only wear about 10 of them regularly. We get a lot of use out of the clothes we like. Nothing wrong with that.

Austina, I am with you about things I feel are a waste of time. I love your response of “lunch” for what you liked the best about the course you had t take. My bracelet is ready the 7th or 8th of June. I am sure Dottie will be dreaming of squirrels tonight.

Junebug, that is great your place in SC is working out so well. You will enjoy catching up with family while you are there. It is amazing how a hair cut and color can make such a difference in how you feel. I am getting hair cut Saturday and sure need one. I am smiling at straightening the house so DS can unstraighten it while you are gone. Marty will work on our place later tonight.

Tomorrow is Friday. Woo hoo! A friend of mine came over tonight for cards. She picked up one entree and salad from Olive Garden and we split it. That worked great.

Marty is going to meet with that other company that offered him a job in Denver on the 7th. His parents are here that week; we will see how that goes.

I need to get an appointment to get my oil changed that week; I need plans to keep me busy while the in-laws are visiting.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning! I feel like a true NIRDI lady yesterday. I came home and not sure if the cleaning lady just did such an amazing job cleaning but there was the biggest roach I’ve seen in our home, just flying around from wall to wall. DH is out of town and of course I freak out. I get the broom since I need the length and try to get the bugger. Ughhhh but in panic mode I just went after it. Of course I missed and just dented the dry wall instead. Had to go to bed by reassuring myself that the roach was downstairs and I’m upstairs …. Stuffed towels at the door to make sure there was 0% of it crawling through. I’m ridiculous. Such a girl. I shouldn’t fear a helpless creature that can’t hurt me…. I then carried my cat with me wherever I went. Not that he would be fast enough to catch it anymore but at least he could probably detect it and alert me. Hahaha… hope that made ya’ll laugh. OK well I’m off to see a friend’s new baby and DH will be home before I know it. Also excited for Memorial day weekend! Ya’ll be safe and have a great one!

@Austina – hahaha well I don’t know if fashion jewelry counts as bling. I am conscious though of how much accessories to put on though… I finally learned (late in life since I didn’t start wearing make up until age 25) that if you do heavy eye shadow then you usually do a more natural lip color or vice versa on going with a bold lipstick then you usually go lighter on other parts of your face. Ahhh so many rules. Tough being a classy lady… how do you do it?!

Have you ever seen Dottie catch anything? Dogs are fast enough to catch squirrels right?

@junebug17 – Some cats love to talk. My cat will meow like crazy on a car ride and then also barf. No good. You are so thoughtful to others on the plane. Safe travels and have fun this weekend. Yay to getting your hair done!

@marcy – Good luck to Marty meeting with the other company. Please keep us posted! How did he hear of them? Do you get along with your in-laws?

@missy – Hope you are enjoying the new furniture. Try the instapot yet?

Hi nirdis, greetings from South Carolina -

Marcy, lol to making plans while your in-laws are here! Maybe you could also have a work emergency tee-hee. Too funny that Marty will start working on your place tonight. Such a good idea to split a meal with your friend, the portions they give you at these restaurants are just too much for one person, and I'm glad you had some company while Marty is away.

PB, oh no to a roach being in the house - I feel the same way, I do not like those bugs at all :eek2: Lol to carrying your cat with you, good idea! Hope you had a nice visit with your friend and her new baby. Yay to dh coming home, just in time for the holiday weekend.

Beautiful day here, sitting outside and just enjoying being outdoors. My sister and her bil should be showing up soon. Hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend!

Hello lovelies

:love: Your home looks beautiful @junebug17, very inviting, shame I can’t swim  I disprove the theory that everyone floats, I sink like a stone! Enjoy your time in SC with your family, looks like you have lovely weather there.

Sorry @PierreBear but I had to  at you grabbing little PB and barricading yourself in your bedroom. Don’t roaches stink if you squish them?

Dottie’s too slow to catch anything, if the squirrel stopped, she’d be scared stiff :D

 to being classy, I wear lots of make up because I need it, you’re a natural beauty. Colin says I look like the monster from the black lagoon first thing in the morning:mrgreen2:

Try and stay cool in the heat, it’s gong to be scorchio there.

I missed that Marty was interviewing for another job @marcy, everything crossed for him that it goes well.

Are the outlaws friends or foe? Will you be working while they’re visiting?

It was dull here today but the forecast is good for the W/E.
