I saw that on the cad and assumed that was what you wanted. I am sure it could be done more flush if you tell her that. I think it works well with the rose cut because how low it sits. It may be awkward for a different shape because of the gap. I am sure she could think of something.

Yes maybe the style of the dalia since it’s narrow at the bottom and higher set is a little tougher to make it look right I don’t know. But she is going to find out what can be done for me.

I hope it all works out!! I know you’ve spent a long time looking for the right bands and was hoping that this clip would be the fix. You must be so frustrated.

Thank you! Yeah I’m very bummed. I just figured if she thought that little gap was going to look right, I trusted her judgement. I tried to envision it. I did not at all think it would draw so much attention. It’s so awkward from multiple angles.
I wanted a halo, it just doesn’t look like a halo like this. It’s like a big hula hoop around it.

Is it just me? The last picture is how it looks to me most of the time, unless I put my hand out perpendicular to my face .

I think it's sitting like that because of the donut and the more cup-shaped basket of your ring. It looks like the pieces from your inspo pics all have very flat, wide baskets... Hopefully, there's an easy solution to this!

Yes I think you’re right. Thank you! I’m sure it will all turn out great in the end.

I agree with @AnastasiaBeaverhausen. I think there has to be a solution to this and Caysie will figure it out.

Aw that’s a bummer. It does look nice straight on. Hope you find a solution.

Caysie came up with a cool idea to put filigree (for lack of a better word) inside like the dahlia setting. Clever! What do you guys think?
I might want to explore something with diamonds too but maybe this will do the trick.

Now that I’ve watched it move around for a day, I think a big part of what’s bothering me is when the ring is tilted and the halo is tilted away from it, it’s creating a much bigger gap than what you would see on the CAD. You have moving parts things are shifting and changing. They are attached and it doesn’t shift out of place but there is some up and down movement. Nothing bothersome at all as far as wearability ( unlike some bands that constantly shift and you have to adjust) Just FYI for anyone getting one. It’s a great concept and I love it, very clever, just some things I didn’t think about before.

I think it's another occasion for the foil trick! You know, thw whole putting something under/in the basket to see how much adding more metal might change the look.

I think the filigree will add dimension to the whole set. I like the idea, I hope you find it pleasing.

That’s a good suggestion. You can also probably manipulate a paper clip into a very similar shape and see how it looks.

Also, I wonder if there will be less movement if there is more metal and therefore more weight to the clip?

I’m late to the party!
It’s not you, I totally see what you mean.

I do like the filigree idea…could it be raised though? Please forgive the potato drawing and pretend it’s all done with pretty Dahila petals! C6F02B47-4C47-45E6-893D-F458CDF42B2F.jpeg

That's what I was thinking; it needs to somehow be up higher on the setting just under the basket. That's why I thought originally that it "clipped" onto the setting somehow like with a tiny hinge...thus called a "halo clip". Will be interesting to see what Caysie does with it.

Idk, I think you maybe should (my opinion which is worth nothing) accept it for what it is.

It’s unique and no one else has one, so it is what it is. It’s gorgeous anyway straight on and the straight on look is because it looks how it does.

But anyway, I do like her proposed solution and maybe try the foil or paper clip before committing.

Enjoy it!

Update on the halo clip, here is the CAD for the filigree fill in. I did the foil trick I think it helps from attracting attention to the space

That’s what I thought at first as well. It’s more finger decoration in my mind than halo. But that’s fine with me. I think for the lower bezel set rings it’s a halo

I think you’re right. At least with the metal in between it will be physically blocked from moving as much

Love the drawing!! Thank you! I agree up higher would look great. At this point I can’t spend more money on it but down the road if I want a different clip made I will ask her about this.

Yes I was expecting a tiny hinge too!

Thank you! I’m trying to ignore the gap I do love shape she created. I think this little fix will do the trick :appl:

I think finger decoration is an idea whose time has come.
I'd love to see more designs along these lines.

Playing around with an old mounting that doesn’t fit and a CZ, I think the halo clip looks nice with the emerald too! C0F0AF48-559A-477E-9E19-1084E7106765.jpeg
