Yes it is! I wanted to halo my stone and Kaysie talked me out of it. I was going to do various curved stack rings instead. Then I didn’t totally love the separate bands look and all the spinning.
So when I saw the halo clips I thought it could be the perfect solution. Eventually I would like to have a couple to switch up the looks. I really wanted a calibre cut emerald one but it would be like $5000 so I’ll have to wait on that lol!! I’m dying to see it and fully understand how it works lol. She should be sending me a picture today. It’s ready she just hasn’t picked it up yet.

Wow, that halo clip is phenomenal!...as is your diamond and CVB ring! How does the clip work? Does it have a hinge and it opens and closes around your ring? Never seen one of those. I learn something new every day. Thanks for sharing your process. Loved the elongated oval halo you started out with too. Now you will have the best of both worlds!

So I’ve put in the order for my setting…finally.
I went and tried on rings and looked at settings in person and decided on something totally different than I thought I wanted. It just looked right on my hand.

the setting from the store is by Uneek and from the stock photos I would never pick it. But in person it has such a lovely shape. Originally I wanted a pear or oval but the uneven faceting bugs me and ultimately went with round. The elongated shapes look better on my fingers though. So I feel like this gives me the best of both worlds.
I’m going to base it off of the Delilah setting, two tone with carved yellow gold band. So no baguettes like the Uneek but honestly that looked great too.
Trying to decide small details like if the top and bottom edges should be the curves of the halo diamonds or should there be a prong at the top making at point.

Note in the pictures of the setting on a round diamond the shape looks cushiony...more squared (like the Delilah cushion pic you posted) , but in all the examples except for one ...(the .5c stone) they are more rounded. Did you get it yet? I’m dying to see! I’m finalizing CADs with Caysie this week and I changed my mind and will go with a different design for my halo clip and not a version of stardust but still excited to see yours! Mine was supposed to be a stardust/afterglow combo but am going a whole different route now.

The reason I chose the stardust/afterglow version of the halo clip was because I had also sent off an antique seedpearl brooch to Caysie in hopes that the pearls from the brooch can be salvaged and used. Her bench just confirmed today that they couldn’t be salvaged. Caysie suggested maybe just doing the afterglow band with seed pearls that she’ll source but I think I want to stick with the halo clip idea but use gemstones instead. I’m leaving the design of this one up to her so I’ll wait to see what she comes up with. I had more of a vision and a clear idea with the stardust/afterglow version but now I’m just leaving it up to Caysie and see what she comes up with lol

So unfortunately I got the clip today… I don’t like it. Straight on, it’s perfect. From any other angle my eye goes to the large gap that is an awkward shape . It looks like a mouth

Oh, wow, I see what you mean. Straight on it looks awesome. She should have shown you more pictures on how it would look at all angles before you decided on one. No wonder it looks good on a very low set rose cut stone. It fits right up against it.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I wonder if more diamonds can be added to fill in the gap? I do love how it looks from the top.

ETA: I did specifically ask that my halo clip have no gap and that it sit flush with the main ring.

Yeah I could see that there was a small gap on the CADs, but I did not anticipate how visually dominating it would be when my hand moved. I’m thinking in real life everything is teeny tiny and it’s a small gap that won’t be noticeable. Also in real life the shadow from the diamond and setting add to the contrast and draws the eye to the hole.
