It's a good thing we're allowed to brag shamelessly because I'm a little obsessed with my upgrade. I've been dreaming about an antique cushion for over a decade now, so when my husband surprised me with an upgrade of my choice I went right to the Old World Diamonds site. I looked at many diamonds, but I kept going back to a ring that was already set on the site. Fortunately I had a few work trips to NY planned, so I was able to see the diamond/ring in person and compare it to others. After many months, a couple of visits, and several comparisons (smaller, bigger, whiter, etc.), I decided to get this one. (Side note -- Adam at OWD is really amazing to work with. He's very patient, really knowledgeable, and never pushy. If you're in the market for an old diamond, definitely get in touch with him!)
4.49, O/P, VS2 and gorgeous. The ring is a bezel, yellow gold basket (w/a couple of rose cut pears set in the design) and a platinum band. The setting is really perfect for the diamond. The gold brings out the warmth of the stone which I absolutely adore. I also love how it changes colors depending on the environment and lighting (I've attached a bunch of pics showing the the rainbow of light this beauty throws off!). I decided to pair it with a super slim 1.6mm eternity ring...something small because I want the diamond to be the focus!
Oh, and for those interested, there is a video of the ring on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/p/BLwhd1_BwdC/?taken-by=oldworlddiamonds.
