Hi! I'm looking for some advice. I live in the isle of arran and have no jewellers on the island which is so disapointing, I have 2 solitaire rings, one has a .50 carat diamond and the other has a .46 diamond. I'm looking to get both stones put onto one ring, as they mean alot to me. Is their anyone on here that could do this for me??? Even use the same band that I have if that makes sense? 20190618_194738.jpg 20190618_194707.jpg I've attached a picture of the rings that I would like this done to. Kind regards yvonne

Ooh, I've never been to the Isle of Arran but have been to other parts of West Scotland and Skye, which is amazing :))

I think @kevnick80 is based in Scotland and he seems to have an excellent jeweller that might be able to help you - I am envious of his collection! lol

Other than that, perhaps you could contact Hatton Garden Bespoke Diamond Jewellery Workshop that @Hounddog has been using:
https://www.pricescope.com/communit...en-bespoke-diamond-jewellery-workshop.247281/

They might be able to create some CAD options for your consideration and tweaking as necessary, and then get to work when you've agreed a design!

Oh you defo visit the isle of arran, lovely wee island off the west coast of Scotland!

I was looking online and was asking about and came across this place that quoted me £1000! Is this the standard price?? I just wanted something simple like this. Xxx 20190920_095026.jpg

That looks like it could be a tension setting or have a security link between the two ends - I like that look a lot, personally speaking :)

You might be able to find a setting 'off the shelf' that you could order in and get the jeweller to put together with your stones, which would hopefully be cheaper than a custom piece!

JA has some examples, for example :)

EDIT: Now I look again, they are all over the £1k you mentioned... lol

I think, therefore, that the quote you have must be for a ring that has a bar between the two ends to hold it even more securely, rather than a true tension setting that relies on the strength of the metal alone!

A lovely sentiment Yvonne. Have you seen Bypass rings, or perhaps ‘Toi et Moi’ style rings? They are well suited to stones like yours, and vintage ones can be found in charity shops and also online. If you like antique-y bits and bobs, the 9ct gold ones are quite affordable. I love the color of the old gold.

Here’s just an example:

I love the idea of a moi et toi.

Maybe Stuller has some settings too? You can look online at their catalog and then get pricing from a local jeweler in your country if they carry them.

Are you adverse to shipping your stones outside of Scotland? I only ask because if you were to send what you have to someone like David Klass, in California, I think he could make something for you that is under the quote you got custom made for your stones.

There was also a PS thread from a lady who had her slightly-differently-sized diamonds set as stud earrings and David adjusted the setting so that they appeared identical. I think one bezel was .03mm different or something. It was a great result.

There were a couple of us that had him do this. I believe @KKJohnson was the other one.

I am not sure how secure I would feel a tensions setting is with two stones next to each other although it looks great! But I think the idea of studs is lovely.

Yep got two rings made into earrings, the diamonds did not match in size/color/clarity but they look great as a pair of earrings

Those earings look beautiful!
I'm looking to just get them on to one band. One ring I got when I was 19 and the other was a birthday present , both from my partner so would mean more to me on a ring xx

OP, you can look on Stuller’s website and see what settings you might like.

Side comment - @KKJohnson did you use the baguettes for any project?

I got to visit area when I did a semester abroad in Scotland in college. Beautiful island so I am envious with you there. I think you will need to take a trip to the mainlain, explain u are on a budget, do not mind using a stock setting, go from there. Unless you feel comfortable mailing off yr stones.
