my discipline is architectural history, but i consider myself more of a built environment historian. my dissertation is on the impact of immigration on American cities and suburbs. i have been focusing on Vietnamese-Americans throughout the country (Chinatowns and Little Saigons). i am looking specifically at the transformation of commercial building typologies. at this point (beginning year 5), i really just want it to be finished so i can get a job!

it sounds like you''re in it for the long haul, too. will you be traveling much during the rest of your studies? i find this is one of the hardest things about grad school.

i hope your kitty is ok, and that the lump has gone away. i always triple check my cats in case something is amiss, they''re my babies!

Those are incredible. Is that a round cut in the middle ring of your middle finger? I think that one is my fav. You should edit the picture with labels and give a brief description of each one, how you got it, why and where how much and specs and your opinions on it, etc maybe

I just found this thread and LOVE it! How cool--I''m constantly imagining what people look like. And everyone looks even better than I thought they would! I''ll post some of me and my sweetie. We got married in April of 2005. (I was married the first time when I was 22--had my sweet girl at 29--got divorced at 33 (not a bad thing--we''re great friends and co-parents)--and remarried at 36!)

Since the wedding photo, I''ve let my bangs grow out and colored my hair much darker. Here we are at the beach last summer with our girls (ages 7 and 9--his is the 7 year old, mine is the 9 year old). Pardon the sun-kissed/burned faces!
