Thank you and I agree! As soon as I saw it it reminded me of the sky, it’s like walking around with a piece of the lovely blue sky on your hand. Which means a lot in this entirely grey, cold and dreary winter weather…!

Next I think I want strong turtle shell pattering.

I love, love, LOVE larimar! So nice to see an opaque gem thread. Everyone's goodies are so beautiful, and I've thoroughly enjoyed admiring them all.

My favorite turtleback patterning.

This specimen measures 5" across and 1.5" north-south in the middle... pretty to look at, but terribly uncomfortable to wear.

I have a larimar pendant from the DR, now I have to find it...

It is set in sterling silver and I was thinking about having it plated with gold, but I think the stone would be ruined.

I really am! That shocks me because I’m so not a white metal person but I think.. I think this ring just maybe my turning point! I was planning to (in the way distant future) put the stone in gold because I really truly love the sky resemblance; when I suddenly realised yesterday whilst wearing the ring and looking at it for the billionth time, it suddenly dawned on me, that I thought it looked just perfect.

I completly forgot about this thread but im certain it sparked my current interest/ infatuation in larimar

This is my Octy
I got him quite recently
he's a bit small but that's ok as i brought him to quage size for a jet pendent
Yes black isnt blue but
He was such a great steel unusually for me - but as such didn't come with a chain
and none of mine fit (either me or then him ) well truthfully i can't see to take the jump ring off to get Octy on
so he's a bit of a work in progress but i do love him


@Autumn in New England im not mentioning you know what but i am determined to have a larmair necklace one day

A few weeks ago i remenbered these earings
i brought them to wear to Gary's daughter's wedding about 15 years ago
I brought them down Porirua mall from a kiosk the local Peruvian (?) community had where i brought my alpaca poncho
They sold hand made items from central and South America
I long forgot what stone it is because i brought an orange jacket for the wedding and brought all orange accessories to match (shoes, earings, fasinater, clutch)

Those are realllllly pretty! I love all of the dangly bits. If the stone shimmers, like I think I'm seeing, my guess would be dichroic glass or some sort of resin cab. But you never know!!

I remember it definatly being a stone of some type id never heard of
I just liked the colour

when ill find its mate ill take a better picture
it definatly has the white marbled look going on

Ive been a very bad girl
im surposed to be on a no-buy until all my pending repairs and alterations are done

But I feel, especially walking to work in bad weather, i really deserve to spend some of my wages on something other then bills and food

Its not mega bucks - but i know how many hours i had to work to earn that amount
And Courier Post is only $4.50
Anyway i do want a few more silver rings so this fits the plan

I am confident its real larimar,
And its a native American piece


I just had to scratch the itch and have Something larimar to wear right now
I found it new, on trade me ( NZ eBay)
im hoping it fits
the US size doesn't quute correspondent to a UK/ NZ size
Its coming from down south
