Congrats on your engagement! Such a beautiful ring. I love how the diamond picks up the surrounding colors. Just gorgeous!
 
It is absolutely gorgeous, what a fantastic choice. It's perfect on her hand. Such a beautiful place to get engaged too. Wishing you both all the happiness in the world!

I advise against taking it down the half size:
1. I see she is wearing long sleeves in your photos. Fingers swell in the heat of summer - a half-size differential between warm-weather size and cold-weather size is not uncommon. You don’t want it to be too small in summer!
2. Once she’s wearing a wedding band, the total width of both rings will “fit” a half size or so smaller than each thinner ring feels independently. An engagement ring thats slightly too large will probably be a perfect fit with a same-size wedding band.

If you’re planning a longer engagement and she’s truly worried about it slipping off sizing beads are the way to go - they’re removable and they don’t compromise the structural integrity of the band (no cutting the band and reattaching it).
 
Congratulations! I agree about the sizing. Its looks perfect right now on her finger, even a teeny snug I thought from photos. When she adds a wedding band the width will make them tighter. I've determined this recently myself with the same situation!

I had no idea about the sizing being tighter when adding the band-thank you for that. We are in Hawaii, so humid and warm. We watched sunrise so it was a bit cooler before sun came up. We plan for a longer engagement to finish doctorate program. 1-2 years probably. I will look into sizing beads for sure!!

Adjectives she has said: big, huge, perfect, classy, sparkly, shiny, WOW, amazing, white!!! She says that she would have noticed this ring if on someone else and thought wow I like that!

I asked if she would have preferred a thin pave setting and of course she says no and she’s in love with her ring. But we will probably do a delicate pave wedding band with it.

She definitely appreciated I did my homework and wanted her to be the happiest. She says she wants this forever and couldn’t imagine wanting to upgrade. Hopefully she’s not just being sweet ;)

She’s wearing a size 6 but perhaps slightly too big so maybe a 5.5 if we size but as suggested might hold off :) thanks!!!

I'm going to file this away for when people come to PS, asking for a diamond with perfect proportions to a size 5.5 - 6 finger. It's a beautiful combo!
 
I’m so thrilled you finally got your ring.It is beautiful and looks HUGE on her hand. It is a good thing you didn’t pick the 1.32 I. I had to send it back, appraiser said it was more a J color! Honestly I can’t see DSS happening soon,or at all. It’s just perfect on her!!
 
Gosh, I love everything about this ring. The diamond is blinding, the setting is beautiful & the size on her hand is perfect. :love:

I also have to chime in on the argument to not get the setting made half a size smaller. Bands add girth, so for me, my wedding band by itself is loose & I worry i’ll lose It in the shower, with my pear cut is just right, with my eternity ring & things start to get tight.

Thank you kindly! She had asked me last week what color to do her nails and I told her something plain like red or pink or blue solid. She did not listen ha. I couldn’t push the fact as it was a surprise. I let her know that was why and we had a good laugh about the flamingo being in her engagement pics forever.
