I picked up the completed ring today!!

Thanks to this forum not only for help & guidance in selecting a stone but I also picked up a recommendation for a London Goldsmith that could hand forge the setting.

So, I thought I’d share a couple of completed pics.

GIA & AGS, 2.5ct, E, VS1 set in a hand forged 2.1mm platinum knife edge solitaire with a 6 prong Rex Collet

Gorgeous! The stone itself is beautiful, jaw dropping :) the setting you chose compliments it so well! Early congratulations on your engagement and a truly gorgeous ring ! Wishing you both a life time of love & happiness :kiss2:

I love love love this ring. That setting is fantastic! Congrats!

Thank you. The goldsmith was brilliant - he loves the Rex Collet design and hand crafts every piece from scratch - he has done a lot of much ‘fancier’ rings but I loved the timeless elegance of this and the details he creates compared to a typical cast ‘Tiffany’ replica (or even the real thing!) like the more scalloped areas between the prongs and the subtle tapering and pinch of the shoulder etc.

He mentioned this was the biggest hand forged Rex collet he has done to date so enjoyed the process!

They are not very active on Social anymore but you can see examples of his work on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bespokegoldsmith?igsh=MWg0c2tyOHJsMWdzZg==
