I just saw that some of you were asking to see the CADs but I have better than that...glamour shots!! I'll have the ring on Friday and will do a proper SMTB then. Is it just me or was WF super duper quick? We had the mishap with the CADs being lost to our spam folder, so we weren't able to give final approval until the 28th and now it's ready!!! I'm impressed!!! I received my rose gold spacer today too!!

the ring arrived earlier today. there are some changes that need they need to make. off to the jeweller.

another week or so is not a problem considering the time frame already. fortunately, it is not for an important occasion!

its acutally for another month, they are on holidays for 3 weeks. Happy with the result of the ring, so these changes will make it right.

I'm sorry Gregchang! I know that you have been waiting for a very long time. It sounds as though you are otherwise happy with the ring and that the corrections will be easy enough, so that is all good news. I really didn't want to have to wait other month for your reveal though.

Well I guess I'm joining the party now too.

A short history of my purchase. For about 5 years now I knew I wanted to marry my g/f but also wanted to be in the financial situation to give her something amazing. Despite still being in college I started looking at the big box brick and mortar stores, edcuated myself on diamonds for about 3 years, still didn't know everything. I found pricescope, ventured away from blue nile, ended up finding a beautiful diamond through white flash that hit all my key wants and then some. I didn't realize at the time that WF did custom work nor did I really consider that as something I was looking for so I just had a loose diamond sent to me. I started attempting to work with a local jeweler but couldn't really find anything I liked with him or anywhere else. I attempted to have him replicate some designs I saw online but that all fell though and here I am now working with WF on a custom ring. Pwew


WF currently has my diamond back in their possession and I'm working with them to finalize the custom ring order before getting my CAD images.

Here is what I'm hoping for


The problem however is that despite what one of the reps said a few weeks ago before I was sure I wanted them to make my ring, they don't do exact replicas, which I understand and am fine with but the above design is no longer in production and could never be bought without a round diamond from the designer. I however want it built for a princess cut and hoped that would be enough of a difference. They wanted to flip the gallery rail so it curved the other way though. That doesn't really tickle my fancy. One of the things that stands out about that design is that galley rail coupled with the prongs making a kind of heart. So I'm waiting to hear back from the production team on what they can do. It being a simple solitaire, there's not a ton of room for alterations though.

I'm open for some suggestions on slight minor modifications though.


Another design I've grown to like is this, just in solitaire form.



So maybe a kind of hybrid with the two. I don't know, I know I've been picky and finding one that I liked for more than a week was an accomplishment. I'm hoping to hear back from WF today so hopefully I'll get this rolling and have some CAD images to post soon.

Update!

I saw and wore my new French cut diamond band while in Vegas for the GTG. It has eight stones (estimate 3 ctw) set in platinum with fine milgraining. It went back with Grace because we decided that it needed to be thinned out (width) a bit more and taper the shank. I need to decide if I want engraving on it.

How about making the top of the gallery a straight line. THat would keep the heart shape below the gallery.
I'm not really a fan of the second setting. But that's just imho.

I really like the look of the second one but in the "solitaire form" you're talking about. I love curves and loops, etc so that's what is drawing me to the second pic.

When I first got it I was about 60% happy. I'm up to about 85% today. Hopefully by Saturday I will have passed 90%. There are little flaws, but I think that its just my unhappiness with the how the whole process turned out that is magnifying them.

I'll do a SMTB after I get home early enough to take some pictures in daylight.

The head is a little crooked. And the Diamond Melee get lost in the head. I also asked for claw prongs and didn't get them. But seeing it without them, I could do without them.

I must say the Pink Diamond worked out great though. It sparkles so much in the setting. And as you can see the colour shows up amazingly without rose gold to enhance it.

The pink diamond does look perfect!! Are you planning on asking your jeweler to fix the problems? You should be 100% happy and your jeweler should be fixing these issues.
